Kaggath Heats - Ascending Empire vs Alliance of Worlds

Totally worth it.

Seriously though, where is he?

Totally unfair to leave us in the dark like that :p

He can't be writing the post now, taken way too long...

He's trying to build the suspense to cosminc levels of influence. Somewhere in a galaxy far, far away, short hooded figures are eagerly awaiting the verdict.

Prelude to the conference on Alderaan:

Both parties agree that one capital ship of their choice can be brought to the battlefield. Assuring themselves that neither party will resort to orbital bombardment when both are on the surface.

Mon Mothma accompanied by Plo Koon, Obi-Wan Kenobi, a squad of Clone Troopers led by Commander Cody and 10 of their best Imperial Knights board the Chimarea and head for Alderaan. Risking passing through Brentaal with the assurance that the ships cloaking devices will protect them from harm.

Meanwhile IG-88 decides to set a trap beforehand, but he is unable to do so independently without his absence being noticed by Leia. So he imparts his plan to place poison in the ventilation systems. Leia, not wishing anyone of her people to come to harm provides her troops with antidotes that they can administer. IG-88 is sent ahead in a fast stealth ship, arriving 3+ before Mothma. Giving him ample time to infiltrate the ventilation systems and plant the poison.

The conference:

Both parties arrive at the location without hindrance and enter a fairly large chamber with chairs and a table in the center. Mothma and Leia take a seat while their respective entourages stand guard - with IG-88 waiting outside. Obi-Wan is initially shocked to see Luke but recovers quickly, as does Luke, both are dedicated to completing the mission.

As the proceedings begin Obi-Wan and Koon start probing the area. Kenobi uses his highly attuned senses to scan the room for any hidden dangers while Koon telepathically probes the minds of the soldiers present. Koon, as a unknown factor, is able to do this without suspicion. Koon quickly uncovers the Alliance plot to poison them with nerve gas and discovers the existence of the assassin droid - IG-88. After relaying this information to Kenobi, Kenobi probes the area further and detects the presence of IG-88 through his oscillations. While Koon locates the ventilation shaft in preparation of circumventing any poisonous gases.

Meanwhile Organa has had the Bothan spies under the cover of stealth to attempt to block off Mothma's escape by moving around the palace to block of their entrance, with the intention of ambushing them as they try to escape.

Then without warning, IG-88 activates the nerve gas and appears from hiding, firing a lethal dart at Mon Mothma. But Koon is prepared and expertly blocks the incoming dart while Kenobi unleashes a charged Force push which sends the Rebel troopers, Luke and Leia flying back. Although the latter two less so. However IG-88 has already unleashed a volley of sonic blasts which Koon and Kenobi mistake for blaster bolts and attempt to deflect. The bolts hit both in the chest, breaking ribs. Despite this Koon is able to ignore the pain and summon a whirlwind to dispel the poisons while the Imperial Knights raise a Force barrier around them.

Meanwhile the Bothans have sprung the trap from behind taking out many Clone troopers who guard the entrance. However the remaining troopers and Imperial Knights manage to repel them as the escort Mon Mothma to safety.

By this point Luke and Leia have gotten to their feet and ignited their blades while IG-88 has jumped to the ceiling, shooting all manner of fire at the Jedi and Imperial Knights below in an attempt to penetrate the shield. However the Knights who are are around half a dozen strong stand firm. Meanwhile Koon traps IG-88 in a Force whirlwind and destroys him with a barrage of Emerald Lightning.

With IG-88 and the Bothans neutralised Mothma is hurried out of the room while the Imperial Knights and Koon rush to help a flagging Kenobi who is hampered by his rib injuries. Together however they manage to defeat Luke and Leia who refuse to retreat, knowing it will only lead to further violence. Instead the die valiantly and the Kaggath is won.

If I were a Wookiee I would swear a life debt to you. :)

Unless it's against me...

Then you'll be nice.... Right?

Right?

Pretty please?

OK I have not read anything since I last posted so don't know if this has been called just wanted to say first sorry about most of my nonsensical rants before I stayed up all night thinking beni was going to call it then since he said he was before rayla logged off and had made posts at 3 AM for me over here so figured he was doing it then thus Sleep deprived tune makes stupid.... here is the real final argument

What rayla was saying about the tactic for the AE was spot on but Obi-wan isn't likely to use this tactic only Garm. So what Obi-wan would be facing at rendili is exactly what I said before he would lose pretty hard there, but retreat back still having dealt a good amount of damadge to wedges ship

At brentaal the Strident and a few ships would head to Arkania and again Luke will still no Garm is coming do to the scout ships...... Garm has a bit better tactics then Luke and Luke will be unprepared for the ramming thing garm will do taking out the planetary defenses and some of Lukes best ships, Luke will still have more then a sufficient force to hold Garm off and Garm will still back off after dealing Luke's fleet a crippling blow. Part of the issue with Garm's best ships is the bridge tower is a noticeable weak point on the ship that fighters can hit or run into and have shown doing so is massively effective and have been known to do so. This is a weakness the GA fleet does not have as they recognized it and build the bridges less sticking out making them impervious to this. All in all it succeeds at doing exactly what Rayla wanted evening the odds of the fleets leaving both to lick their wounds.

Mothma and Leia will see the destruction though and call for the meeting to take place, we already went into so much with this so I wont really say any more, all in all even with out the Arkanian equipment many people (including myself obviously) were saying leia would be able to escape and she likely would, rather then stay and fight.

The kicker here is something have mentioned a few times but never in Length, during this treaty Wedge and Garm will talk and Wedge will pretty much tell Garm he was right about Mothma just look at the evidence Acending EMPIRE, IMPERIAL knights, the death watch ships and even Clone troopers or Storm troopers, and all the rebels that Garm considered friends are on the other side. Simply put Garm would defect if not because of Wedge talking he will come to this conclusion on his own. So mothma wont get support from her fleet or Garm will help the AoW get Corellia at least. I have mentioned it a few times just not in detail.

If this has been called in favor of the AE then I will not debate it further I wish I had one more day to counter an argument made at the last second but hey that's just lamenting and its my own failing for deciding to stay up all night and deprive myself of sleep in the final inning. Essentially what I am saying if I am to late is

" One more day

One more time

One more sunset, maybe I'd be satisfied

But then again

I know what it would do

Leave me wishing still, for one more day with you "

That said to who ever the victor is great work EVERYONE for making this incredible and such a good match, thank you to my opponents for giving my team one of the greatest matches I would ever hope for them to see, just wish if they don't go on that I knew how they would have faired against others.

Congrats Aurbere, you faction is looking beastly right now. The fact that most of this revolved around a few leadership choices even though each side had massive armies is pretty cool. I hope I don't have to face you for a while... And good clean debates all around imo, nice work.

Also, longest/biggest Kaggath to date methinks, that's something to celebrate (or cower in fear of)

Hey star I want to thank you personally I don't think I said it before but your response to this

"3. She also passed leadership onto Leia who was also just as capable of this, the big difference here is Corucant almost no one has ever gotten those people to fight. Not many people on Corucaunt are willing to pick up weapons and fight for any one. Also if we want to go into this Garm never trusted Mothma and broke from her early in the rebellion, even after he came back his suspicion of her trying to become the next emperor never really waned. With slicers I would have no problem festering this even further turning Garm against Mothma, and with a fellow Corellian on my side this becomes a bit easier to create disarray among your commanders long enough to topple them. Also there is one more reason people would flock to my army.... Wedge he wasn't just a brilliant strategist, he was the kind of commander people wanted to serve under, its one of his most defining attributes."

Litterally made my week possibly my whole month. The idea that I can actually form a coherent thought when I Do have a good head on my shoulders and to see some one say so at least ensures me that I am not entirely hopeless.

All in all thank you Star your nice words for that made so long ago now really touched me then and still makes me happy now.

That being said I am proud of how my troops preformed even with the massive handy cap of having me as their creator, some day I will win a debate here.... some day.

Edit: the only thing that makes me sad is they will never get to face off against any one else.... I am sure everyone who losses the first round will feel this way, that awwww it had so much more to offer.
