psychogobstopper Posted January 10, 2012 Share Posted January 10, 2012 (edited) The Galactic Empire was a Sith Empire in the sense that it was ruled by Darth Sidious under the aegis of Darth Bane's Rule of Two reformation of the Sith Order, but it wasn't a Sith Empire in the same way that the Sith Empire in this game is. The Galactic Empire has never been presented as the "true" Sith Empire. Hell, what does "true" mean in this context anyway? The Sith Empire in this game is descended from the fleeing remnants of the original Sith Empire, destroyed by the Galactic Republic during the Great Hyperspace War. Is this Sith Empire therefore the "true" one, or is it only a "false" one? (Yes, it's the true one.) What about Exar Kun's Sith Empire, the Brotherhood of the Sith? Exar Kun was declared to be the Dark Lord of the Sith by the spirit of Marka Ragnos, the Dark Lord whose death spurred the civil war between Naga Sadow and Ludo Kressh that led to the Great Hyperspace War. One could say that this makes Kun's Empire a descendant of the original Sith Empire. What about Revan's Sith Empire? Considering it was founded due to Emperor Vitiate using his Force abilities to bring Revan under his influence, one could say it was an extension of this game's Sith Empire. What about the New Sith Empire, founded by Darth Ruin? It held more territory than any previous Sith Empire except the one in this game. Does that make it the "true" Sith Empire? What about Lumiya's Sith? Lumiya was trained by Darth Sidious and was a follower of his Order of Sith Lords, which was founded upon the ideals of Darth Bane's Rule of Two. What about the One Sith, founded by Darth Krayt? It was a return to the old ways of the Sith, a renunciation of Bane's Rule of Two. Like Sidious before him, Krayt successfully manipulated two galactic powers into warring against one another, then used that conflict to seize control of a galactic government and a large swath of galactic territory.
