I think bounty hunter class is completely to hell where all the bounty hunter is not mandalorians.

Bounty hunters should also be able to use all the weapons exept light sabers.

As many of you have said, the bounty hunters and smugglers should be able to play on both sides.

For this reason, it would be fun with a third side.

Bodyguard, spy, bouncer, security guard, a pirate could be exaple kind of classes.

Why not work for the Hutts?

I also agree that Trooper should exist on both sides.

I agree with the guy who said it doesn't really help just putting the same classes on the other side.

I did think a neutral faction would be awesome. We could have Force Adept, move over BH and smugg to cover up the corners, and fill in a fourth class. However, imagine the ammount of trouble to go over to implement that? It's unrealistic to hope that it ever will.

And, on a related note, I think the covered bases are enough to satisfy my RPer needs. I don't care if they don't have Zeison Sha or whatever else you feel might be appropriate :p You can always RP that sorta character if you like.

What I really think is mandatory, however, is an expansion on playable species. Enough with the overly-close-to-human races! I mean, Mirialan as a separate race? Why the hell for? xD Instead, they missed out on some awesome race opportunities, such as Rodian, Wookiee (might be a little hard to work in the grunts and howls, but it's not impossible), the incredibly popular Togruta, Nautolan, Kalee... The list goes on and on. Hell, if I were a dev I'd go to the trouble of taking the Gungans into the game, if that meant crossing out mirialan and cyborg. These "races" could easily be covered by adding implant gizmos and green skin and different tattoos in the customiseable features at character creation.

I agree, it'd be awesome to have the BH and Smugglar be able to choose alliance at lvl 10, replace the Smuggler for pub's with an SIS Agent and BH for imp's with Imperial Trooper. A Dark Honor Guard would also be nice.

And a 3rd faction or an option with imp's to join Malgus's empire.

Force Adept - A force wielding class of either alignment. No lightsabers, but have access to other melee weapons such as staves, vibro swords, etc. An example of this would be the Witches of Dantooine. An advanced class would be beast master, like how the witches control rancors and other pets with the force.

Actually the witches are from "Dathomir," not Dantooine. But I get your meaning.

I would like to see a droid class. Heavily armed battle droids for the Empire and smart, tactical droids for the Republic.

Just about every MMO that gone down that^ path has been exactly the same. Not in the way the game plays or mechanically or anything like that but the time between updates, the amount of content provided in updates, etc, etc, is about the same across the board.

About the best case scenario would be something like City of Heroes which continued to pump out new power sets once they went free to play.

The biggest problem with new classes is making the entire voiced story line as well as modifying the quests that are already there to add in the new class. IE. Say the new class is witch... well you can't have the NPC refer to the player as Jedi, Solider or Smuggler... or Sith, Bounty Hunter or Agent... you have to either get the voice actor back to record a new name or cut the part out and hope people don't notice.

I wholly disagree with you on Kaleesh, Rodian, and Wookie, this is a heavily story based game, so why on Earth would they want to have a main character who can't even make facial expressions ? How would the romance sub plot work for a Wookie character ? Would they have the normal options, or would they get the hots for Khem Val ? The only race I actually agree with you on is the Togruta, but even if they implemented them, their would be complaints that it's too similar to Twi'lek.

Most of the ideas in this thread are lame.

Great input, thanks.

I think instead of new classes, I'd like to see advanced factions. So many of the classes end on a note where you can be like "screw the establishment, I'm gonna do what I want" so why not work with that. Have advanced or subfactions that you can join that have certain rewards or something. I've heard so many people say things like "Why can't I join the Dread Masters?" Why couldn't we have joined Malgus' Empire?"

So yeah, let's have some sub factions or advanced factions that are meaningful. There are certainly plenty of factions in the game. Why don't we make them more than just things we interact with to get special gear?

Will never happen (Would need a new game).

Just throwing ideas of possible class :)

Empire

1 Sith Warrior

-Dark Jedi

-Pure Blood Sith

2 Sith Inquisitor

3 Imperial Agent

- Imperial Saboteur

- Imperial Cleaner (Assassin)

4 Imperial Soldier (Later Imperial Officer)

-Chiss Expansionnary Force Soldier

-Mandalorian Soldier

Neutral

1 Bounty Hunter (Choices of bounty/employers would determine his allegiance)

2 Smuggler (Money is King)

3 Mercenary (Could be hired by both side or stay neutral by accepting non-sided contracts)

- Professional Assassin

- Protection Specialist

4 Informant (Spy for hire, without any loyalty could find/sell information to any side)

5 Criminal (Vague not so good Idea, too close to smuggler at my taste)

- Slavers

- Spice Trader :)

Republic

1 Republic Trooper (Later Spec Ops)

- Engineer

- Support Trooper

- Medics

2 Jedi Knight

- Gray Jedi (Could be neutral)

3 Jedi Consular

- Shadow

4 SIS Agent

5 Scout (Discovering new systems, the scout would be diplomat like the consular)

-Hazardous Environment Specialist

-Diplomat

Each Class would have specialisations, that would made the number of sub-classes pretty insane =)

And your character could switch side, whatever you choose, even switch Class ....

And also you could join particular group ... that would give specific advantages, gear, friends, quests and specialisation

Choosing one type of race (Humans, Close Humans, Specified Alien, Whatever alien) would make different impact on the story

Examples :

A pure blood Sith working for the republic would be hated by the empire and not really welcomed by the republicans

Inferior Alien Species would be hated on Empire Side

Chiss would not be trusted by republicans, but respected by Imperials etc ...

This could actually work.

The new class would have to start later chronologically so they didn't have to go back and add much to older planets.

So this new class should start on either Illum, Makeb or Oricon.

Basically similar to how you created Death Knights at level 55 in WoW.

The number of people commenting who have absolutely no experience or any clue at all about computer programming, need to stop with the ignorant opinions.

They already have NPCs prebuilt with the models listed in the OP, all they have to do is combine them, sort 'em out, and toss 'em into the game.

Only "content" that would take any time, if at all, is the main class stories, of which, could be as short or as long as they want. If they are advanced classes, introduce them at level 30 or 25 on Nar Shadaa or Tatooine, or Alderaan, and build it off of that. Story missions could be as short as 2 or 3 missions per planet.

Which are so quick and easy to make it's ridiculus on pre established, pre existing material that's already in this game. Companions? they could start out with all droid companions for a droid race/class.

Or they can just mix and match random pre existing races and droids already across the galaxy and make them companions, toss them a vibrosword, or tech staff or whatever the heck you want, and done.

It really does not take that much effort to do whene verything is already in the game. How do you even think or even comprehend game add ons are made for other games? DO you think people come up with all the source codes and programming off their heads and just modify the games they make add ons for? No, they take what is pre existing and copy/past/rewrite scripts/put on a microphone, etc.

In larger companies, and larger games like WoW, how much effort do you really believe goes into creating expansion packs for that game? All they do is remake models, make a new landscape, and toss it out for people to ooh and awe at.

You're lucky if ANY of these additions take any more than 20 mins to 10 hours of time.

Even just the fact of creating a droid race alone, outside of making a storyline/plot which would fit most likely to start on Tatooine, all they need to do is look over the existing droids, determine if they want humanoid (2 legs) or the tripod droid templates, determine playstyle if it should be techstaff/vibrosword or BlasterRifle/ Sniper Rifle.

Toss a character creater that they already have in game, to switch heads between droids already in game of the basic chasis they choose, change body sizes/armor plate looks, maybe markings or paint schemes. DONE.

Or you could just have the droid race free-roaming without any backstory at all other than a droid getings its freedom from jawas.

Attack abilities? Steal them from pre existing droid NPCs and companions in game. You're lucky if it'd even take 4 hours to do with ONE person working on it.

If ONE programmer cannot do it, when everything is ALREADY in this game that they need, that programmer needs to be fired and replaced.

Only thing they have added/are adding to this game that isn't already pre existing, is the space combat PVP fights they are creating for free roam space PVP.

That is the only thing in existance in this game that isn't already pre existing.

However, the models for the strike fighter, gunship, etc. are already pre existing. Meaning only controls and environment/motion are the only things they are really working on.Everything else such as new races, hell, in one week they can toss out 30 classes and 100 races if they wanted.

There are hundreds of humanoid races in game already, not to mention droids. All of which can be tossed into game as player races, OR new classes.
