Vitas
The mission "Collected Writings of Tiethiagg" for the The Grand Acquisitions Race event is just annoying having to do. I don't really understand the 2 minute time limit not to mention the 1 hour wait for it to reset whether you succeeded or failed, perhaps the prior would make sense for the long wait. It's very impossible to even try to complete it when 20 other players are around you interacting with the consoles themselves. You have the mirrors and laser positioned right but then other players keep moving them so they can do it. Edited August 14, 2012 by Vitas
UberLord
Does it really take an hour to reset? WHY!!!!!!! My internet dropped doing this and I come back a few minutes later and can't click anything. So I abandoned the bonus quest and still can't click anything, nor get the bonus quest back! I don't especially want to redo as I've sunk a few hours into the prior quests of the chain...

Dantharghan
The timer ran out and I couldn't click any consoles after that, so I tried deleting the bonus quest, because there was NO option to reset it. I have been waiting to get the bonus quest again for almost 2 hours now, while running around the room, leaving entering etc... nothing works. Don't delete the bonus quest. ElitehunterDS
what, how could you fail at such an easy puzzle? I do agree the puzzle should be phased out tho Edited August 14, 2012 by ElitehunterDS

Have you tried clicking on the datapad next to the body again? I ran out of time the 1st time aswell. Picked it up again same as the 1st time. If someone else is doing it you get a red message about your escort or something like that, wait 2min till he's done and try again. I don't think the buttons are clickable for people not on the mission so I can't see how others would mess it up for you either.
dosadnik
How can you fail at that? It's a fairly simple puzzle. Inside ring yellow, middle ring purple, outer ring green. It even has the answer on the floor next to the dead guy.

If you ever get frustrated and delete a bonus mission during the Grand Acquisitions Race's main mission, the easiest way to get it back is to reset the main mission for this event. It will look like your items have disappeared, but you will get them back as soon as you reset the mission. You'll still retain all of your previous items and you will only lose the progress that you've made towards the current item that you're pursuing. Hope that helps! Bluegoggles
This is absolutely the worst quest setup ever. 20-30 people packed into this tiny room. Everyone is trying to click on everything. Then groups and even ops start forming up. With Ops only the group with the clicker gets credit. Rotation mess-ups. I eventually got into a group that successfully finished it. However, I was level 39 and everyone else was 50. I didn't get credit; couldn't loot the box. I noticed all the quests so far sets it to your current level. If I didn't get credit because of level difference, this quest is even more borked up. Is this a bug or working as intended? How are people with levels supposed to finish this? Be lucky with my clicks against 20 other people? This tiny room should have been instanced or other rooms allocated for different level ranges. I imagine a room full of tards all trying to hurry through everything would make it something of a bother.

Well I guess, but it's just about sitting there and clicking on the datapad until you get it Plus they can always switch planet instances.
Varkiriel
I have no idea how to do this quest. I click the datapad and then when I click the objects around the holodancer, nothing happens. NM: couldn't see the inner ring from where I was standing. DOH! Update: Nevermind, after resetting it again it seems to have worked. Might have been it was always being used, which is why it appeared to not work. Thanks for the info! Problem resolved, ignore the below. I've done this, reset the main mission 'The Grand Acquisitions Race' several times, nothing works to grant the bonus mission after you've failed it. I've also reset 'Another Lead', the mission which gives you the bonus mission to acquire the 'Collected Writings of Tiethiagg', and it refuses to grant it again. This is the only bonus mission I have left to do, every other bonus mission was completed smoothly with no problems. Anything else I could do to try and have the bonus mission which rewards the 'Collected Writings of Tiethiagg' bestowed again? It has nothing to do with any emails. Go to the puzzle and click the data pad.

Just look at General Chat when the event kicked off - "I know this brand new event just started, and I glanced at the quest text but I'm still lazy, so can someone tell me where everything is?" "It's random, and have you tried looking, like everyone else?" "Okay.. what are the random spots I need to check?" I would have thought 'scavenger hunt' was self-explanatory, but I guess I'm an old grouch.

This tiny room should have been instanced or other rooms allocated for different level ranges. This is why Guild Wars 2 is gonna blow this game out of the water (among many other reasons ofc). There such an event would simply give credit to everyone involved without the hassle of spamming people with group requests, most of which get ignored or declined. Why the **** not let everyone get credit outside of group? This is realy stupid. This isnt everquest or WoW, innovate already.

BadSpice
LOVED this quest! Had a blast! Really amazing work Bioware. Like an oasis in the middle of a long drought, event quests like this make me glad I'm still subbed. These events make the worlds feel alive, and vital while showing off quests like this one that are pretty different from the standard fair we've seen so far in the general game. I really hope we see more event quests like this. I just hope in the future, we wont have to wait so long between events. Keep up the good work! The first time I didn't get them all right, and the game reset. I was able to IMMEDIATELY go click the datapad on the floor again, and complete it almost immediately. Not sure where this 1 hour wait thing comes from... These were some great missions over all. Really entertaining. I hope the next 3 are just as robust, and that there might even be a few more hidden away. If not though, still love the event! Vhaegrant
I just wish the puzzle had been a genuine challenge rather than a test of patience. Put it in a phase, make it optional, and then rack up the difficulty. The biggest hurdle to most players were the other players and that's never a good situation. Unless it's PvP
