Hey everyone,

We are really excited to bring you phase 1 of our Onslaught PTS! For those that have been following along in the PTS forum, you will be familiar with what is now available for testing. In this first phase, we are bringing you all Sith Warrior and Sith Inquisitor set bonuses and tactical items!

Note that this phase is PTS is pretty initial and so there is a lot still to come, which you will see in the coming weeks as we enter phase two. Let's dive in!

How to Test

  • Head to the Getting Started on the PTS thread for directions on how to access and download PTS.
  • Once on PTS, please create a Sith Warrior or Sith Inquisitor of either Advanced Class
  • Walk out of your starter conversation, and you will notice a terminal that is labeled "Travel to Odessen."
  • Click that terminal and it will do the following:
    • Take you to the Odessen Base Camp
    • Set you to level 75
    • Give you 9,999,999 credits
    • Grant you your class ship and ship droid companion

On the Odessen base camp you will notice a number of vendors which will sell you equipment, set bonus gear, and tactical items for Warriors and Inquisitors. Bounty Hunters, Imperial Agents, and their Republic counterparts are not available in this phase.

Balance is nowhere near final and so we are not driving you to play anything specific. Feel free to play solo content, hit up training dummies, or try to coordinate group content with your friends and guildies. In future phases when we start testing loot drops and balance, we will setup scheduled play times for group content.

There are a number of things that are in placeholder states or are not yet fully implemented:

  • New tooltips have been implemented, but they are still a work in progress.
  • All of the Onslaught gear is using existing armor appearances, that is likely to change.
  • Amplifiers are not implemented. If you see them appear anywhere expect that it is fully placeholder and not implemented.
  • Tactical item slots appearance in the character sheet is temporary.
  • Crafting inventory and crew skills are not yet ready for testing.
  • The spoils of war style of loot drops are not yet implemented, that will be a major focus of a future PTS phase.
  • Nautolans are not implemented but you will see a section for them in character creation.
  • None of the new areas or storyline should be accessible during PTS.

Please let us know your thoughts on the Warrior and Inquisitor items! A useful links for you:

We'll see you on PTS!

Maybe for clarification, what about the rewards for using PTS you had discussed in the past, namely being able to obtain those titles from prior PTS tests. Is anything like that implemented yet?

Good question, I forgot to mention that (I think it is in the blog though). PTS rewards will not kick in until phase 2. Look to the blog for that phase for more details in the coming weeks.

One of the two Achievements - The Strike Team Specialist and Strike Team Commander character Titles.

That still leaves out "The First Line of Defense" (get to level 10 on PTS) and "The Cutting Edge" (finish Chapter 1 on PTS). What about those two?

Is it possible that we can get some orange, or otherwise completely modifiable mainhands and offhands? If players are going to be giving feedback it would help if we are able to run with our ideal stats. This applies to tanks especially, as every tank I know that does either NiM Raiding or high level PvP is running Lethal Mods.

Bogus: once you select a Jugg discipline that isn't "Immortal", the armour vendor shows nothing unless you select "Immortal" or "All" in the dropdown.

I got a similar thing on a fury mara. When I very *first* clicked on the "Marauder Equipment (PTS)" vendor I saw a list of stuff. Then I went off and set up my spec... oh, I just realized I didn't actually have fury committed yet the first time, so it was probably showing me all. Anyway, now when I click on it, it has pre-selected fury, and it shows nothing. Have to switch it to "all". None of the 3 actual specs list anything.

I love the idea of what you are doing with gear and I just want to say, the more options the better. Introducing personality and deeper preferences into gameplay can only be achieved if given a very large pool of choices we can choose from

Sort of. Unfortunately, it's likely that the collective theorycraft hive-mind will rapidly find (and settle on) an "ideal" configuration, and woe betide the player who wants to explore that pool of choices and still participate in group stuff.

Well, right now we see some of the sets and tacticals being not as good as others. So unless all gear will be done the way that all of it is viable for different content there ofc will be BIS gear and just ok gear. But we shouldn't forget that some aspects of the game are different, so not much use of the stuns and so on for ops bosses but some specific ones :)

Go do the adaptive vendor on the fleet in the supplies area. They have main hand and off hands there.

An ideal configuration is not good for the game, it just makes the game already what it was. Which is all 3 Arsenal Mercs having the best set and playing the same because ONE specific set is just better. We need atleast 3 different really good sets for one advanced class/discipline.
