Synacus
I need a new dell video card because well its the only thing well place I can buy from right now with the good cerdit I have from them. At the 'can you run it" site I passed everything even the card except it said I have a 249 mb and need atleast a 256 mb.<----not sure what that even means. I can play the game just find with shadows off but I wish to play the game as strong as I can. Now I know less than nothing when it comes to PC's so any help would be great and yes sadly it has to be a dell product.

Shingara
im wondering something, i have heard this game is very cpu intensive with multi cores. now what im wondering is how many cores can this game use in total or will it just grab and use as many cores are as avilable to the client. Im asking this cos im clinging onto my 1090t black thats sat happily running at 4ghz like its made of fairy gold dust and waiting for the FX-8190 or piledriver to see what they are like. mrshift
Original post: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=295960. (Closed by admin.) Hi all, I wonder if anyone on the forum is using a Radeon HD 4870, and if it is behaving for them. I am still encountering flickering (small, square) artefacts and freezes (every 10-15 seconds), genuinely making SWTOR unplayable. I've also had two hard reboots, which is why I stopped playing for some time. Drivers are completely up to date, shadows off, bloom off. I guess I'm employing process of elimination, and trying to establish just where the problem is. I'm considering upgrading to a GeForce GTX 560, but I'd need to be confident that: 1. The HD 4870 is giving others graphical/gameplay issues, AND 2. Others using the GTX 560 consistently report no graphical problems. I'd rather not shell out c.£150 and be no better off. Cheers! (Windows 7 Pro x64, 8Gb RAM.) Update: apologies for not posting more detailed specs. And yes, I'm running the latest Catalyst application profiles. AzazaelLoki
Here is what I am looking at ordering in the next day or two. http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=22575188 I can't really go too much higher on price, but am happy to go lower if possible Things to note: I have an existing case and HD I am happy with (for now). The case has pretty good airflow already, I just have fan dying which is why the Noctua is on the list. I understand I may need to upgrade the PSU if/when I ever decide to put in a 2nd GPU. I will be OCing the CPU. I am just looking for other's peoples inputs. In the thread I posted that got closed, people didn't seem to like the 600w PSU I had, so I have upgraded to the 750 (better company to imo Thermaltake > Corsiar).
