Guildrum
"If there is a center of light in the Galaxy, you are furthest from it". "A small, out of the way planet"... That has been featured in almost every single Star Wars game to date. I have a question, if Tatooine is such an insignificant, out-of-the way planet, why is it that it has receieved so much attention in Star Wars games in general? LokenKreig
Because it's in the movies multiple times.Exactly. It's one of the most iconic Star Wars planets. Everyone knows Tatooine.
CenturionCajun
Pretty much what they said. It would be like not including the Federation in a Star Trek movie. It just wouldn't feel right.

"Hey Trekie! We don't serve your kind here!" all in good fun friend. Couldn't help it! <( ^ . ^ )>
DFault
Probably doesn't hurt that its simpler to make sets/zones that consist mostly of sand.

pommopsicle
if you think about it, its not really in the movies as much. in the 1st movie, tantoinne was the setting because it was one of the few planets left where slavery was still legal. little ani had to be a slave because in the end, qui-gon would have to choose the boy over the mother, which in turn would basiclly kill the mother because she stayed on the planet. Ani's remorse over what happened was one of the more important reasons he went to the darkside, to save those close to him, blah bla blah, you get the rest. in the rest of the films, however, luke is on tattoine because thats where his aunt and uncle, ani's half brother and half sister, where to raise him, and obiwan was there to watch over luke. Wylding
The Force has a way of taking insignificant and out of the way places and people and making them important to the fate of the galaxy.
Malaix
This is prob the worst place in the world to say this but star wars markets itself by selling the same story/archtypes/themes over and over again to people. Its why every smuggler ship has looked exactly like the millennium falcon and why we keep seeing the same planets over and over again. Hoth is an even better example, in the movie it was a barren wasteland of snow, and yet its vital here too? Or the fact that storm troopers keep appearing disappearing and re-appearing throughout the timeline. Its all done to milk a franchise.
