Assuming you are a sentinel, then: Legslash - level 16 ability, costs 2 bars, reduces target movement speed by 50% for 12 seconds. Problem fixed. Force leap(30m) Blade storm (10m) Crippling Throw(a 10m saber throw with debuff) Force stasis When someone runs from you, first of all they should either be slowed with leg slash or the cauterize effect right after leap if you fear them running. Then you can use your moves till they run(build focus!), then hit them with crippling throw or blade storm to do damage as they run, then force stasis, after all this your leap is ready, repeat.
