A few ideas to improve the stronghold experience.

Stronghold decorating is my favorite pass time and if allowed these are a few suggestions I'd like to throw at Bioware to improve the experience.

1: New Stronghold suggestions: (1) Zakuul Estate: makes sense given the outcome of the chapter missions. I really think it should be the largest stronghold yet with plenty of rooms to build a military base or force sensitive temple. (2) Voss Sanctuary: So far the game offers plenty of decoration and location options to make Jedi, Sith, Zakuul and Revanite themed SHs but its pretty lacking in Voss content, which I think is a shame given the mysterious and unique nature of these game specific force users.

2: More personnel Variety: For a game that has been going for more than 6 years, the bank of personnel decorations is actually pretty small and creatively limiting. I'd like to see more trooper options than the standard orange striped Republic troops and the same goes for the rest. Chiss troopers, Imperial/ Rebulic/ Zakuul officers maybe even some Voss and Balmora trooper options would be great. I also think a male and female Voss mystic would make great additions. Some variety among all the force users would be really appreciated especially if they incorporate more personal with battle poses and weapons at the ready such as Zakull Knights or Knight captains with their shields and pole sabers out, they are almost an iconic image in the game now.

3) Complete companion access: I was really peeved when I recruited Arcann but couldn't put up a companion decoration for him. There are a few others like Empress Acina that id love to set up in my stronghold but simply dont exist despite being in my rosters. This complaint also includes not having companion decorations for the alliance contacts. I'm pretty sure a lot of players would appreciate if these companion decorations were updated.

I actually like these ideas, but I am not sure about another big SH. I have a Yavin and a Tat, and between the hook locations and the giant empty front yard of the Yavin SH, I found it disappointing to decorate them.

A smaller one would definitely be welcomed, and I love the idea of a Voss or Zakuul home.

I was just thinking about how much I would love a Voss home - as I finished the Voss quest on my IA.

Then got me thinking, what if some strongholds were class specific? Certain classes can have homes on planets they had a stronger connection with. Like Imperial Agent gets Voss (she has a husband there after all), Inqs might take Korriban, Bounty Hunters Mandalore, Smugglers Hutta...etc.

I agree, we have a huge need for more Personnel and there are plenty of pre-existing NPCs available in the game.

We could combine this with the class-based idea: Perhaps completing a class story should unlock a pack of 4 different Personnel to go with it. Here are some ideas:

* Sith Warrior -- Sith Academy instructor, Sith student (we currently only have a padawan), Academy guard, and a pair of Sith training with lightsabers.

* Sith Inquisitor -- Sith practicing force lightning, Sith force-choking a servant, prisoner on a torture table, and a pure-blood Sith male.

* Jedi Knight -- Jedi Temple instructor, padawans practicing with training sabers, a Jedi training with a remote, and a Jedi using a holocall device.

* Jedi Consular -- Two consulars chatting, a healing Jedi (using the regeneration animation), male meditating padawan, and a Jedi sitting in a temple chair.

I'm sure you can think of even better ideas for the various classes.

Xina, love those ideas! More personnel pack ideas:

Imperial Agent: Uniformed person sitting at consoles, a uniformed person talking to a couple people in civilian outfits (giving a mission briefing?), people surrounding a table with a holomap up

Trooper: Group of soldiers in Republic armor, high-ranking officer in a Garza-like uniform in a lecturing pose, one or two soldiers interacting with an armor or weapon rack

I would be totally down with Zakuul knights (static ones, standing at attention with their shields and pikes), some Overwatch personnel, and other sundry Zakuulan people. My toons are IC'ly Zakuulan, so... yeah. Color me tickled at this possible idea. :D

my ideas are a zakulan penthouse they could empty out vaylins and give us that you could have a taxi on the balcony that you could take into the city which is minor but i think people like myself would enjoy the visuals of it

I really hope they will put more time and effort into fixing existing stronghold and decoration bugs than developing new strongholds. There has been a real, measurable drop in decoration quality in the last half-dozen packs. The Manaan stronghold has a long thread detailing its issues and glitches. I'm not going to be excited about a new stronghold until I know they're going to fix the issues in existing resources.

So... the best way to improve the stronghold experience? Make sure ALL decorations have at least 2 hook options (except rugs and ceiling, of course). Fix broken hooks that eat decorations (Yavin 4 has a few, Manaan has dozens). Improve the Centerpiece hook layout options. Prevent companions from appearing as holograms. Give us a way to reach the Nar Shaddaa and Manaan starship hooks. Basically, go back and make our existing strongholds awesome and bug-free.

I think another thing is that there's a distinct lack of creativity in the actual decos! Some of my favorites are the Mekeb Decos, but the fabric is dingy and dull! It looks like that they need a good scrubbing! Other decos, have the same issues. I've said it before but let us dye fabric decos! You unlock it choose from menu pop a dye in! Also, you can do the same thing with metallic finishes and wood grains! Give us choice and unlimited customization! For example the Jedi temple fountain is scratched and scuffed. All the Cantina furniture is dull so let us choose how to class it up or down! If you're just going to reskin existing Decos anyway let us choose what we get! Also the actual planters holding our plants are awful, give us some choices there too.

We also need expanded collections, such as from Voss, Mekeb, and Zakul! Give us MORE! Expand the environmental decos. Some Beautiful and exotic Flora is DESPARATELY needed.

PAINTINGS... Really guys, Abstract Lines, Abstract Colors, and Abstract Rectangles and that's it? Get in gear and stun us!

Good news, there are dozens of painting. Some come from Anniversary events, some from the Cartel Market, and others from achievements.

There are Small, Medium, and Large wall hook trophies for various flashpoints.

There are also holo posters: Galactice starfighter, Galactic strongholds, Knights of the Eternal Throne, Knights of the Fallen Empire, Rise of the Hutt Cartel, and Shadow of Revan.

I'm not sure these count as paintings.

Here are some actual paintings --

Art: 3rd Anniversary Celebration – Coruscant, Dromund Kaas, Korriban, Nar Shaddaa, Rishi, Tatooine, and Yavin 4.

The Arneclin masterpieces -- Alderaan landscape, Kaas City, Hoth starship graveyard, underworld casino, approach to Oricon, Rakata Prime, the reclaiming of Taris, and Tatooine landscape.

Reputation decorations such as Art: Crminal Underworld, Art: Mandalorians, Art: Orange Vertex, Art: Rakghoul Caverns, Art: Rakghoul Lurkers, Art: Rakghouls, Art: Red Bisector, Art: Weapons Cache, Art: White Scalene. and Painting: Abstract Rectangles.

Achievement decorations such as Art: Nerfs, Trophy Art: Alderaan civil war, Ancient hypergates, Huttball, Kuat drive yards, Novare coast, and the Voidstar.

There are just over 20 decorations from Voss, though only a couple come from Voss reputation.

We have far fewer from Tatooine or Corellia. There are almost none from Balmorra, Belsavis, Hoth, Ilum, Taris, or Ziost.

All of the art and paintings you've mentioned are ridiculously expensive, or next to impossible to get. Besides, I don't like most of it.

They can't really "fix" the "I don't like it part.."

That said.... I do think they need to add a lot of decorations to the vendors. They haven't been updated in awhile. Update the crafting materials for the prefabs/fabricator parts and add a lot of decorations to the fabricator droids. The really cool stuff can still be in the cartel packs, but they need to offer some more/new stuff on this fabricator droids. All the parts take really old materials to craft and nothing higher than rank 7.

They seem to be putting a renewed focus on strongholds, so now's a good time to add to the decorations available that don't require millions of credits.

I wasn't suggesting they fix the "I don't like it part." LOL I assure you I'm not one of *those* people. However, would you want to spend 15mil on paintings you don't like. That's lowballing some of them.

Nope.

That's why I said I think they need to add a lot of new non-CM decorations. The decoration fabricator droids haven't been updated since launch of strongholds I think. The crafting reagents for fabricator parts require a max of rank 7 parts (the max when strongholds were introduced i think?). They are the perfect place to add some new decorations, including artwork, for people who aren't credit rich. Update the materials required to craft fabricator/prefabs parts used to trade to the droids and add a lot of decorations to all 3 droids.

The cartel market keeps the game alive, so I expected/accept most of the best stuff will come from packs. That doesn't mean other sources should be neglected though. Especially if we're going to start dropping multiple strongholds in a year.

The Arneclin Masterpieces sell for about 750k to 1.5 million each on the GTN. They do go on sale in the Cartel Market a couple of times per year.

The reputation items aren't difficult to get. They're very inexpensive. Just run a couple of missions for BBA (Bounty Brokers Association) or Thorn during the Rakghoul plague. It's a little bit harder to get Gree decorations, but not at all difficult if you get a group of 2 to 4 players.

The Anniversary artwork was either free or 1 credit each, I can't remember which.

The achievement to unlock the Nerf artwork takes about 30 minutes to complete and also gives you 3 pets.

Just remove the hooks and give us free rein decorating.

Yea, most of the other MMO's I've played decorating systems that are so much better. My biggest disappointment is that I can't place bigger floor coverings on their hooks so that they cover a floor entirely.

It's like the strongholds all have current color themes and I want to plant something down that is going to contrast against that color to make the stronghold "pop." I'd like to be able to completely cover the floors in the Dromund Kaas with red carpets to contrast with the greyness of the walls throughout. I want to completely cover the floors in the Yavin temple with blues and greens to break up the monotony of the stone but still have the earthy feel.

And variety...I don't care if we have to craft with current system or a different system, however we have to get schematics, purchase on Cartell, what have you, I just want MORE variety.

A winter stronghold with snow. Perfect for life day decorations, tauntauns, fireplaces, torches, etc.

Oh wow, would LOVE a snowy place. Not like Hoth but like the more snowy areas of Alderaan and the like. As much as I love my jungle Yavin, I think I'd pack it all up for a snow place.
