Emote Suggestion Thread

Recommended Posts

I'd love to see emotes that would allow you to simulate certain effects that can usually only be done through certain abilities. Like the animation and effect of the Sniper's Suppressive Fire ability.

Looping animation emotes for various postures and actions would be extremely useful as well. A lot of them have been mentioned already, such as typing on a console, or taking cover with a weapon drawn. Or various forms of laying down such as /asleep or /ko (K.O knocked out) or some various death blows. Like how /sit makes you sit down and then you stay sitting until you get up. You could have /death1 /death2 /death3 and so on that makes you fall down in various ways and end up on the ground. Or /ko1 /ko2 /ko3.

Here's another idea, how about some emotes that reuse or recreate various actions or postures that Kotor players would be familiar with? Like the cantina dance! GIF link

Two-player emotes. Like, if characters Jack wants to kiss character Ada he presses "kiss" emote. Then Ada recives small message in corner of screen "Jack wants to do kiss with you" or simply "Jack wants to kiss you". If character Ada agrees they perform a kiss. Only usable when characters are <4 meters distance, and emote request disappears after 15 seconds if it's not answered. Also ability to decline two-player emotes automatically should be added.

This kind of emotes would be:

Hug

Kiss

Hold in arms (I want my body 1 female to hold body 3 male on her arms:cool:)

Hold hand

Also die or lay down would be appreciated, and faint

Just a few suggestions that I think would be worthwhile :)

/lasso The toon would start twirling something akin to the holo hoop above their head. Extra points if they then could throw it around the target person/thing. I really, really, want this one.

/twirl Just a few spins in a circle on the toes. It would be cool if the character got "dizzy" and stumbled around at the end. :p

/baton The toon would start twirling a baton before flipping it into the air, spinning around, catching it, and bowing. (Maybe the baton could be on fire?"

/electricslide The toon would slide sideways to the left and back to the right. Different than the starslide emote.

/macarena I know some people already said this, but it would be a nice addition.

/conga I'm not sure how this would work (solo or with others) but a few step forward followed by a kick is this emote.

/limbo A bar would appear (possibly a holo image) and the toon would lean back and limbo under it.

Suggestions?

What i find really annoying is the amount of NPCs around that are doing something we can not. three really good examples would be the basic comms vendors on Oricon...

1, Jedi Vendor blocking shots with his lightsaber from a training remote.

2, Female Vendor leaning against a crate with arms crossed.

3, Huge Jedi NPC standing with his hands resting on his belt.

Now if you created these poses for NPCs it must be so simple to covert them into emotes, right?..

These are great ideas! I know a couple of people in my guild, myself included, would love to use this in rp!

A realy nice emote would be like the /dejarik one, but instead the player would be playing pazaak !

When you do the /pazaak emote, the character would be sitting at a table (looking at his cards) with a droid on the other side dealing cards !

Not sure if this has been suggested yet, but /dj would be cool to add to the list of instrument emotes. Either the animation that plays for npcs when they're at the piano/tuba/turntable thing or an entirely new emote would be great!

Also I think there should be a variety or maybe one or two flip emotes.

Primarily if this was possible my favorite flip to do is the Kick the Moon\Slant Gainer. If I could do it in game that'd be even cooler. I thought of this when I saw the kick the Hutt ball ability.

Kick the moon would be a definite. It is super cool.

The following are actual flip names so if you want look them up but I only took common one and ones with names or looks that reminded me of SWTOR. :)

/Kickthemoon

/Grandmasterswipe

/X-outflip

/Flashkick

I'd really like to see the ability to buy the regular emotes that subscribers get, since I don't play a lot at this point I float from subscribed to not subscribed and I have purchased all of the beneficial cartel things, like artifact authorization, third crew skill, etc. But I find it disappointing that I can't perform basic emotes unless I'm subscribed.

/scoundrel where both hands go up to the side near their head in a "Wait? what? me?" pose.

/loser the L on the forehead

/worm break dance move.

/hammer any cool mc hammer move would be cool.

/chicken chicken dance that we all hate at weddings.

/cottonjoe cotton eye joe dance.

/dooku the lightsaber move he does when he is challenging yoda.

A second weapon flourish. Also I'm sure the RP crowd would like a force trick, complete with cloud over the targets head. And as for rest and recharge it would be cool to have battle meditation for light or command the force for dark. With swirling blue or red force clouds.

I definitely would like to see these in-game!

But here we go again, also got another thread with them listed, just to get it out there - http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=7178323#post7178323

/Wrist Display - Check security or Holo-logs on a handy wrist screen (you'll find most droid bartenders with this one, along with bounty hunters). - http://i.imgur.com/4ap2rYQ.gif

/spanner / screwdriver - we've all seen those engineers working on fixing broken consoles and speeders! - http://i.imgur.com/ZD6FTrp.gif

/stock(counter?) - That other little handheld device we see being used for counting stock or somesuch. Maybe a different name of course, but you get the idea! -http://i.imgur.com/bR7ln8I.gif

And

http://i.imgur.com/wuk7ISq.gif

/terminal or /typing - This one is a favourite from another game, but you have multiple NPC's doing it in game and in different ways, like so

http://i.imgur.com/mkZYjeA.gif

http://i.imgur.com/FzH8Xh6.gif

/map positions - Bit like the terminal, only for use on desks / holo maps - http://i.imgur.com/tSCHOxy.gif

In addition, I've heard many roleplayers yearning for what I would call stances. More or less static poses and not just a short animation. Countless NPCs can be found throughout the game wearing these stances, so it'd be wonderful to see player characters able to use them as well.

These include

Incredibly wanted /meditate

http://i.imgur.com/ujIuV1y.png (the mirialan focusing ritual without the light would do fine as well)

Relaxed pose with one hand on hip

http://i.imgur.com/8sAhkgQ.png

Both hands on hips

http://i.imgur.com/a8eaMDd.png

/at ease

http://i.imgur.com/685bAo8.png

/folded hands

http://i.imgur.com/GbpvPTP.png

/crossarms (as a stance and not recurring animation)

http://i.imgur.com/trAdf4d.png

/earpiece

http://i.imgur.com/Nds9Ykc.png

Different /injured poses

http://i.imgur.com/ldEq3SX.png?1

http://i.imgur.com/syTG4me.png

http://i.imgur.com/KlXny1j.png

Different sitting poses without a chair

/hangover (:p)

http://i.imgur.com/sBko5fy.png

/crossedlegs (I'd like to see both versions)

http://i.imgur.com/j87XuuS.png

Proper lying down poses like

/sleep

http://i.imgur.com/NEfivag.png

/sleep2

http://i.imgur.com/xUuw0M6.png?1

And some varying /holding weapons poses would be great

http://i.imgur.com/2BBeeAk.png

http://i.imgur.com/eAfWIG2.png?1

http://i.imgur.com/X0ZUJQj.png

And it might be just me, but the blaster bolt deflection training seen on Oricon Republic camp is awesome. Could we have it too :D

A current problem with mood and "stance" (/chair, /kneel, /dance, etc.) emotes is that if you have one toggled on, and another player arrives at the location that you are at after you've already toggled it, on their screens, it just appears that you are standing with a blank expression on your face.

Would make RP encounters much more immersive when you can walk into a room, and everyone would already be sitting, without you having to say "((Can you guys /sit again please? Can't see it on my screen.))"

This is an amazing post and I agree completely. Seeing these 'stances' in-game usable by NPCs but not available to players is hugely frustrating, and it would add so much to my time playing TOR if they were available - and I know I am not the only one who thinks so. It would mean TOR would really stand out in the MMORPG genre as well for giving general customisation to player stances and expressions whilst interacting with the world. I know it's something I miss dearly from SWG.
