HisShadowX
I am using a DPS Sith Warrior however I believe Archaeology, and Treasure hunting your getting the same items. Are these two professions pointless to have at the time?
Sykopathik
One is a mission skill and the other a gathering skill. Gathering skills get the bulk of your crafting materials while mission skills give you high end materials for crafting blues/purples. Gathering skills you can use to physically harvest materials in the game as well as send companions on missions to do it for you. So having both isn't going to be required, but if you ever want to craft anything better than a green you need them both, or you have to buy the blue/purple crafting mats off of the GTN. Lankard
Archaeology brings in color crystals, power crystals, artifacts. Treasure hunting brings in gemstones, lockboxes and sometimes crafting materials. You need all of the things archaeology gathers plus the gemstones from treasure hunting to make things with artifice.
