I dont have any questions but i can say hand on heart that if anyone out there is looking for a new monitor have a look at the syncmaster SA950 full hd led monitor. i just got one and the thing is amazing.

That's nice but ouch on the price.

http://www.bing.com/shopping/samsung-syncmaster-s27a950d-lcd-display-3d-ready-tft-27/specs/2F42E0ED480BF25D0001?q=syncmaster+SA950&lpf=0&lpq=syncmaster%2bSA950&FORM=CMSMSP

yes it was a tad expensive but for the picture quality, full 120hz and 3d that dont give me a whacking headache and the monitor does the 3d conversion so i cannot complain + its a 27" and see it lasting me atleast 5 years.

the thing even converts swtor into 3d perfectly an i can tell ye, space is beep beep beep amazing in 3d.

Intel i5-2500 Sandybridge 3.3ghz quad core

Asus p8h6i MB

8GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM

Rosewill 600W PS

I'm glad you wasted your $ on that very low quality 600WATT PSU on a system that draws 200 WATTS

k. I'll call the geek squad next time. For which one do you work? I'd like to give you some business.

Ouch on the GS they work for best buy and are paid like 8 bucks a hour lol.

Actually I work a full time job and build systems on the side. Close to 20 years now.

ah, good for you. I know a thing or two about a thing or two, too.

Rate my system then.

i5 2500k @4.2 GHz (had it stable @ 4.9 ) backed it off since nothing can use it.

3x 64 GB SSD in raid5 ( very fast and safety with the 5 setup )

2x 1 TB CB HDD in raid1 ( everything backed up )

6970 @ 950/1425

Gigabyte Z68 MB

Corsair TX 850 PSU yes it's overkill.

8GB Memory

I need a new dell video card because well its the only thing well place I can buy from right now with the good cerdit I have from them.

At the 'can you run it" site I passed everything even the card except it said I have a 249 mb and need atleast a 256 mb.<----not sure what that even means.

I can play the game just find with shadows off but I wish to play the game as strong as I can. Now I know less than nothing when it comes to PC's so any help would be great and yes sadly it has to be a dell product.

Dell has a upgrade section on their website or just call them they will look at your dell PC and give you a option.

NEVER USE CAN YOU RUN IT AGAIN!

Hello all, thanks for looking I want to know if its worth switching the CPU and MB to i5 2500k, if it will actually make that much of a difference. It will cost me about 100 bucks, I have someone willing to by my FX-8120 atm. I only care about games.

I currently have.

FX-8120

Gigabyte 970A-UD3

GTX 560 TI

Win 7 64bit

8gb corsair vengance

basic western digital hdd. 200gb

On a side not i have an x-fi sound card i got about 4 years ago I think its called Extreme Music. I paid around $120. will the onboard sound be better then my sound card now?

im wondering something, i have heard this game is very cpu intensive with multi cores. now what im wondering is how many cores can this game use in total or will it just grab and use as many cores are as avilable to the client.

Im asking this cos im clinging onto my 1090t black thats sat happily running at 4ghz like its made of fairy gold dust and waiting for the FX-8190 or piledriver to see what they are like.

Original post: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=295960. (Closed by admin.)

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone on the forum is using a Radeon HD 4870, and if it is behaving for them.

I am still encountering flickering (small, square) artefacts and freezes (every 10-15 seconds), genuinely making SWTOR unplayable. I've also had two hard reboots, which is why I stopped playing for some time. Drivers are completely up to date, shadows off, bloom off.

I guess I'm employing process of elimination, and trying to establish just where the problem is.

I'm considering upgrading to a GeForce GTX 560, but I'd need to be confident that:

1. The HD 4870 is giving others graphical/gameplay issues, AND

2. Others using the GTX 560 consistently report no graphical problems.

I'd rather not shell out c.£150 and be no better off.

Cheers!

(Windows 7 Pro x64, 8Gb RAM.)

Update: apologies for not posting more detailed specs. And yes, I'm running the latest Catalyst application profiles.

Here is what I am looking at ordering in the next day or two.

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=22575188

I can't really go too much higher on price, but am happy to go lower if possible :)

Things to note:

I have an existing case and HD I am happy with (for now). The case has pretty good airflow already, I just have fan dying which is why the Noctua is on the list.

I understand I may need to upgrade the PSU if/when I ever decide to put in a 2nd GPU.

I will be OCing the CPU.

I am just looking for other's peoples inputs. In the thread I posted that got closed, people didn't seem to like the 600w PSU I had, so I have upgraded to the 750 (better company to imo Thermaltake > Corsiar).
