Updates

12 April Update: Amendments made to KBN's per boss gear recommendations based on his new categorisations

10 April Update 3: Corrected typo for Dipstick's gear recommendation for Cora.

10 April Update 2: Added Methoxa's Avg numbers (as corrected by Jethsidi), swapped from row highlights to column highlights.

10 April 2015 Update 1: KBN's 3841 gear recommendations added, old 3800 gear recommendations hidden, KBN's gear recommendation for Malaphar switch to High MR.

KBN, Dipstick, and Jethsidi have released their 3.0 HM gear recommendations for tanks. As their recommendations are different, it can be quite cumbersome to reference the recommendations from the 3 separate forum threads. So for easy reference and quick comparison, I have compiled the gear recommendations into a single spreadsheet.

Argh! Numb3rs too stwong! In terms of how the data is organised, each tank class has it's own sheet. Each sheet has two table, 1 for Temple of Sacrifice, and 1 for The Ravagers.The columns list the Operations Boss, and the rows list the gear recommendations. The gear recommendations are all listed as: Defence Rating/Shield Rating/Absorb Rating.

As tanks tend to use the B mods in 3.0, I have not included the gear recommendations that use unlettered mods. The total stat rating for B mods is 3841, and for 6/3 split mods is 3895. As such only KBN's 3841 and 3900 stat recommendations, Dipsticks B mod recommendations, and Jethsidi's B mod and split mod, and Methoxa's average gear recommendations are displayed.

Oh and muffins :p

Enjoy.

Well, as no one has the best numbers i decided to go with the middle of all 3 tankstats. So basically i took Jethsidi's B Mod stats, KBN 3800 stats and dipstick's B mod stats and calculated the average for each boss for Juggernauts.

Outcome :

Malaphar : 1254/1480/1093

Squad : 733/1700/1393

Underlurker : 1399/1349/1079

Commanders: 1410/1349/1067

Revan : 922/1620/1278

Sparky : 994/1527/1305

Bulo : 1411/1349/1067

Torque : 1427/1349/1050

Master : 733/1666/1428

Cora : 699/1666/1428

Average : 1098/1505/1219

For the Revan fight i only used Jethsidi's and KBN's numbers.

These values do not only takes mitgation into account but also DR of defense/shield/absorb and also spikyness. You could say it is the most balanced tank stat sheet as it is not colored by only 1 persons opinion about tanking but takes all 3 opinions of the paragons of tanking into account. Some ppl might have realised that KBN and Jethsidi have different opinions.

In case the numbers are proven to be valueable i might open a new thread and do the same for the other classes. Just need some testing

Methoxa, wow. Ever more a fan of what you do. Would you mind making that thread? Your final average there is almost spot on for what I am running at the present, interested to see what the other two look like, but RL projects have come up so my time for maths has been limited.

If it would be helpful, I can trivially calculate distributions for arbitrary stat budgets, rather than just the rounded century marks that I use in the post. Unlike full mitigation Revanite or similar Dread Master, B-mod Revanite falls almost halfway between two century marks, so it's a little inconvenient.

Wow. I'm sorry that running numbers is such an inconvenience for you. Because truly, the rest of us do this because it is so convenient, it's not about helping people with gearing possibilities, guidelines, or tank theory in general at all.

And am I the only one who felt the pretentiousness trivially dripping from the words in this comment?

You are, i am immune to subliminality <dont even know if this word exists>.

Although a burger party brawl would be quite funny, I'm guessing KBN means that's its quite easy for him to generate the B Mod version of his numbers. Once he generates those numbers, I'll add it in as well.

-----

Hmm and just a thought though. From the perspective of gearing, it might be helpful to have the lower tiers of the recommendations as well. I'm not sure about the exact ratings, but say the Resurrected Split Mod, and full Resurrected levels?

I literally am out of words for you. No pretension was intended; the only subliminal meaning in my words comes from your own biases.

To clarify what I was saying… My mathematica worksheet takes about 15 hours to spit out the numbers that are in my tank stats post, during which time my computer is essentially unusable due to the CPU load (which is spread across all available cores). If I had to calculate every single increment rather than working in increments of 100, those 15 hours balloon to two months. That defines inconvenience.

Computing specific values takes very little time. Computing all possible values in a large range takes a staggering amount of time. I was asking if it would be interesting for the purposes of the effort in the OP if I had a set of specifically calculated distributions.

I'm guessing KBN means that's its quite easy for him to generate the B Mod version of his numbers. Once he generates those numbers, I'll add it in as well.

For a stat budget of 3841:

{{High->{{shadow->{defense->1100,shield->1270,absorb->1470}},{guardian->{defense->1618,shield->1142,absorb->1081}},{vanguard->{defense->743,shield->1732,absorb->1366}}}},
{Mid->{{shadow->{defense->1130,shield->1255,absorb->1456}},{guardian->{defense->1631,shield->1142,absorb->1068}},{vanguard->{defense->767,shield->1720,absorb->1355}}}},
{Low->{{shadow->{defense->134,shield->1790,absorb->1916}},{guardian->{defense->752,shield->1541,absorb->1548}},{vanguard->{defense->152,shield->1869,absorb->1819}}}},
{Average->{{shadow->{defense->514,shield->1584,absorb->1742}},{guardian->{defense->1193,shield->1308,absorb->1340}},{vanguard->{defense->369,shield->1869,absorb->1603}}}}}

Note that I haven't fixed the Malaphar miscategorization yet.

Keep calm and have a muffin :)

Sweet. I'll try to get them in during lunch. I'm guessing Malaphar should be Mid M/R instead?

It should be high-M/R actually. There are probably other bosses that are incorrectly organized; I'll try to fix that tonight, but it'll take a while to actually update the post. Correcting the categorization will affect the averages somewhat.

I've just added the Guardian /Jugg 3841 numbers for KBN. The old 3800 number are just hidden. There is something odd though. The Mid-MR numbers have more Defence and less Absorb than the High-MR Numbers.

{{High->

{{shadow->{defense->1100,shield->1270,absorb->1470}},

{guardian->{defense->1618,shield->1142,absorb->1081}},

{vanguard->{defense->743,shield->1732,absorb->1366}}}},

{Mid->

{{shadow->{defense->1130,shield->1255,absorb->1456}},

{guardian->{defense->1631,shield->1142,absorb->1068}},

{vanguard->{defense->767,shield->1720,absorb->1355}}}},

Very suspicious. It's possible that is coming from rounding error deep in the optimization (remember, the deltas here are on the order of 10^-5 and lower). It's also possible there is a bug. I'll take a look at it as I correct the boss classifications.

Mid M/R (Commanders, Bulo, Torque)

M/R+K/E: 70.0527%

F/T+K/E: 13.5172%

F/T+I/E: 16.4301%

DtPS: 4131.9

High M/R (Underlurker)

M/R+K/E: 83.2%

F/T+K/E: 16.8%

F/T+I/E: 0%

DtPS: 4217.5

Obvious things have been marked red. To conclude :

High M/R has16.8 F/T +K/E damage in it thats why absorb and shield also plays a role. Mid M/R fights have less F/T+K/E but more I/E damage. Thats why shield and absorb are not that important here.

Here are my recategorizations of the bosses. I'm categorizing now based on weighted mrke/ftke ratio, which is to say mrke/(mrke+ftke). Same general groupings apply (high>80%,low<60%,mid=remainder). Sanity check please!

{dtps->4247.69,mrke->0.55782,ftke->0.230481,ftie->0.21171,names->{malphar,squadron,underlurker,commanders,returned,sparky,bulo,torque,masterblaster,coratani},name->Average,crit->0}
{dtps->5020.88,mrke->0.4072,ftke->0.389364,ftie->0.203465,names->{squadron,masterblaster,coratani},name->Low,crit->0}
{dtps->3021.38,mrke->0.538243,ftke->0.217581,ftie->0.244176,names->{commanders,returned,sparky},name->Mid,crit->0}
{dtps->4587.54,mrke->0.691125,ftke->0.106434,ftie->0.202441,names->{malphar,underlurker,bulo,torque},name->High,crit->0}
