I was having a heck of a time, 5 tries in I was trying the LOS method and he somehow bugged out and stopped casting. I mean totally. I was able to tank n spank him down without worry. Cheesy? Yes. Was I relieved? HECK yes lol.

Sadly, we easily miss this simple method. I was having so much fun being a shadow with Nadia, that I totally forgot about Tharan. Got killed 3 times by the First Son, until I decided to swicth to Tharan.

 

I still can't believe how easy was the fight.

im using tharan and still cant defeat him im lvl 50 got level 50 army jedi shadow .. no healing ability and he just kills me with storms etc i interrupted the rock fall but he killed me shortly after i have tried about 15 times

anyone got any tips for me because i dont think tharan heals me enough and medipacs take too long to cooldown

I just finished my Jedi Consular (sage) story line. I took Iresso with me, and the first couple of times I got wiped without knowing what happened! I was too busy healing Iresso to notice what the First Son was doing. The third time I watched carefully and finally realized it was that Collapse Cavern that was killing me instantly. It was tricky healing Iresso and keeping an eye on the First Son at the same time, but I made sure I had a free interrupt ready when he was about to let loose. I think this story line was the most satisfying for me of all the classes.

I feel your pain, I couldn't kill him or the Counselor so I did what I should have done before 10 deaths. I asked for help.

The nicest Sentinel came by and we or rather he destroyed the place and I finished the quest. Sometimes you get by with a little help from your friends.

 

Wish It hadn't taken me so long and me being so stubborn to find out.

Actually, while Theran's healing is great, the reason why I used him was because of his interrupts. I kited the guy- race in, damage, run away and kept interrupting his big casts- which he spams- A LOT! There was, I'll even admit at least two times that I was out of interrupts and I saw that Voice of the Emperor instakill coming again and Theran interrupted them allowing my interrupts to cool down enough to finish the job. So, that would be my advice:

 

Run away from the area effects, Interrupt VoE ONLY, keep moving, use Theran in MedWatch and hope for a little luck that the interrupts Theran's been spamming for the last 50 levels kicks in at the right time.

 

The other time I just screamed for help and teamed with some very nice random strangers who were willing to help me out.

Tharan and interruption any time he started to cast worked for me at 50. Died the first time as wasn't expecting the one shot kill spell so was being lax on interruptions.

As a Jedi shadow i find myself utside the range of my attacks an defensive tools.

I do not manage to strike the first Son once.

Whenever I come close he pushes me away, beyond 10 meters

How is it possible to defeat such an enemy?

Things to win vs. The First Son :

 

Pull the minions around the corner and kill first

Interrupt the "cave in spell" forgot the name, but it's bad

Do DPS at range

Stay mobile

 

I was level 50 and specced tank

Used the LT and set him on sniper duty- he will keep his distance from target and move away from

red circles if you keep moving.

Focused on boss to see what he was casting-as tank I had 5 interrupts to handle him. Remember you can

Force Speed to target and then Force Wave OR pull and kick. All the while the LT is plugging away.

If you keep taunting and using threat-gen skills, the LT should be full health at end of fight. You may need

to pop a heal kit during fight.

I went the boring and practical route. I was level 50 well before leaving Hoth (combination of exploring everything, reading all the lore, getting all the datacrons, a mild addiction to space battles, and dabbling in PvP for extra credits). From there, I dawdled and dragged my feet helping guildies (I actually escorted two Jedi Knights through Corellia and the Emperor boss fight!) and doing dailies until I'd saved up to get my companions and me armed for bear.

 

(So sue me, I'm having so much fun with this character I didn't want to stop playing!)

 

So, by the time I actually got around to nailing the guy, I was sporting War Hero/Elite War Hero and all the Elite stuff had MK-6 augments for endurance (2300 points) and willpower (2150 points). Tharan was in Rakata/Columni gear, and about half his stuff had augments for Endurance (1650 points) and Cunning (also about 1650 points). I told you, armed for bear

 

Mind you, I'm a Shadow Tank, so Tharan's my right-hand man (and if Holiday and I had been able to work something out, Felix would have been friend-zoned). Plus, I figured that, under the story's circumstances, he'd volunteer for this one.

 

 

 

 

So, Tharan and I take the fight to the cave. Tharan and Holiday do their interrupts and stuns. I hit him with an interrupt when he started to cave things in (spinning kick when you have the PvP gear decreasing the cooldown crosses with that tank tree talenmt to let you use it without stealth = WIN!). Used my Project, Force Breach, and Slow Time to keep the fellow occupied. In the end, he wasn't much harder than a good flashpoint boss.

I do not know if anybody has encountered the following problem: In the middle of the fighting the First Son stops attacking and his name label turns green. Then after 10 seconds or so, my character dies.

Is this a problem only on the Ebon Hawk server?

I seemed to encounter a bug while leveling my Shadow (only when specc'd Infiltration or Balance.)

The boss I was fighting would reset, as if I popped into stealth. This would cause me to need to fight the boss

all over again; as well as yell at my monitor loudly. It happend only with bosses and I supposed that it was fixed.

 

Did he cast "skyfall" before he went green?

You have to interrupt the big cast he does where he brings the roof in on you. So long as you do that, the fight should be easy.

Tharan or Treek so you can focus on killing. Also, make sure to put your Phase Walk out of his line of sight.

I beat him at the end !

 

-I had to be level 52

 

-I use Nadia as companion.

 

-I bought many equipment for Nadia and me from Galactic Trade Market. (About 100.000 credit)

 

-Interrupts were important again !

 

-Phaze Walk was very important force for this fight !

 

-You need to pull your enemy on the stairs ! Important !

I did it at 48, shadow spec tank with Theran, all i did really was interrupt Collapse Cavern and a few Transcendence. i am specced into spinning kick so I do have that extra stun
