Also if you happen upon an orange item with better mods in all 3/4 slots, it may be worth picking it up just so you don't have to go and find/buy mods to upgrade all of the slots in your current armor/weapon. The armoring you put in it determines its armor value. The barrel you put in a gun determines its base weapon damage. So yes, you can put level 50 mods in a level 9 orange piece of armor, making it a level 50 piece of armor with level 9 looks. That is the very purpose of orange gear. Commendation vendors. gg I'd imagine consumables is the only real worthwhile crafting to go with. I consistently craft better mods than the commendation vendors offer.
