compensation fo 2.8 patch and skill changes due to pvp efecting pve and new content

Ill start by saying 2.8 was a complete failure I've been subscribing for a year and a half now and seen nothing like it the game was unplayable for 3 days which I was paying for I think some kind of compensation for this at least for the subscribers is warranted.

 

As for the skill changes to benefit pvp likes of the fly by damage reduction they suffered and reducing focused defence by 200% is a joke they are affecting pve to benefit pvp. They should be reduced or deactivated only when u enter pvp like the warzone adrenals and medpacks that only activate in warzones along with the expertise rating effects u when flagged also.

 

Along with that we have been waiting for a long time for fresh new pve content and I think 2 new fps in over half a year is not enough when pvp are getting new warzones atc so id like see the pvp and pve content releases shared more evenly I appreciate pvp also want updates etc to, to keep them interested but neglecting one for the other is unfair and I wouldn't class a sky palace and a casino as new content either.

 

I'm sure other pve players and subscribers feel the same as my self so if you agree please back me and comment on this post.

I agree, I play the game and am a subscriber since almost the beginning and I never, ever played PVP. I don't care about it. What I care about is PVE. AND when PVE is gimped because of PVP. Especially since I'm on a so-called (ha) PVE server. Please, be so kind and simply try to separate the two things/concepts somehow, don't change PVE gameplay because of PVP problems.

I mean I'm all up for improvements ... but that I have to relearn the use of powers / skill stuff every other month in PVE just because it seem to cause problem in PVP is a bit irritating.

|If you haven't done every single raid on nighmare 8 and 16 man, not a ton of room to talk.

 

I don't know that you have or haven't, but in the past 6 months they've added Nightmare both dread fortress and dread palace, which I promise you takes a lot more work than a pvp map or 2 because it has to actually be balanced and possible for the current abilities of characters in game as opposed to being another variant of king of the hill or capture the flag.

More than likely Bioware will compensate us with a day or two credit for the time lost, and even if they don't... it's FIFTY CENTS. If you are that worried about FIFTY CENTS... then you need to re-prioritize because I bet I make less money than you (unless you are a child) and I don't fret over FIFTY CENTS that I couldn't play this game for a day or two.

 

As for changes to PvP affecting PvE, yeah I hate that, I really do but it's something that every MMO with PvP has done, I rage about it all the time, but asking for a refund because of it? Not even I do that.

absolute its the principle of it if you bought some thing in a shop that didn't work you'd take it back and expect a refund if I am not correct and I don't like paying for some thing that doesn't work when test servers should pick this up thank you for your opinion tho

This is old hat when PVP is introduced to an MMO especially one like TOR that was NEVER supposed to have PVP to begin with. The PVP fanatics whine, whine, and whine some more that this or that is OP and makes their oh so important PVP no fun until the company caves in and gives them what they want and not for one second to they consider what these changes will do to the PVE side of the game.

 

NEWS FLASH!!! SWTOR wasn't intended to have PVP in the beginning those skills were made with the intent of only being use in a PVE scenario.

 

Maybe PVPers instead of whining your brains out to have **** changed to suit your precious pvp you should L2PB (learn to play better in case you couldn't figure it out)

thank you anaesha for your opinion I agree pve people don't normally wing on these forums about it but I think it about time we had some thing done about all these changes in favour of pvp as it becoming a joke and we need to be heard

i agree y is it pve suffer for pvp when they got there own server and there gear works in pve yet mine wont work in pvp this is one rule for one and one rule for the other it needs changing and as for changing skill moves to please pvp i think if there going to do it it should only apply in pvp not pve also

The problem with mmos is that when it comes to pvp, players complain, cry and ***** about their problems, they can't win and then they cry for nerfs or buffs or both, but when it comes to pve, not so many people complain or just don't bother complaining, because even if its a legit reason to complain, they get flamed into oblivion and get the traditional 'L2P' type of posts.

 

When people resist that things need changing, it goes from 'L2P' to 'you are playing the op class', in the end, the only things that get changed are things that people keep ************ about, nothing more, nothing less.

 

If 75% or higher would keep ************ for US -> EU or visa-versa transfers, they would likely get it, especially if majority of them are subscribers and especially if they also buy cartel coins as well, since in the end all bioware cares about is profit, especially EA, if they would get 150-200% return on some features, they would do it, greed causes alot of people to do even horrible things.

but i would like to se pvp removed from pve servers because is annoying the pve content

why not make pure pvp servers and if u like pvp play there and not mess up pve

 

make more ops and fps .

 

last we should be compensated for the 4 days of mess somehow either by a Mount pet cc or a free day play :cool:

They change it on the PVE servers also because they offer limited pvp on the PVE servers as well.

 

I actually agree that PVE servers should be exactly that NOTHING but PVE. My philosophy is if people want to PVP then they should have joined a *********** PVP server and not a PVE server.

most of the pvp vs pve went off the original topic but is still valid to some extent.

 

Personally I'd rather see pvp removed from the pve servers for many reasons but the one that annoys me the most are the people how do pvp then go right out to do pve missions and group with people. as a healer the moment I heal the guy I'm now flagged and have to deal with random pvp if I'm on a shared world until I can get back to a save zone and even then that's 5 minutes out of my play time because he couldn't take 5 minutes to unflag before hand.

caraexas what we are arguing is that the makers are favouring pvp and spoiling the pve game which is unfair and as previously said this was originally a pve game ty for you comment tho and the only patch I mentioned was 2.8 which has failed

2.8 nerfed one thing....ED/FD....which in PVE should not matter unless you have crap ball healers.

 

anni/watchman...buffed.

 

Pyro/Assault... buffed.

 

Madness/Balance....buffed.

funny you mentioned some of those like Pyro/assault and madness/balance considering those skill trees are considered to be primarely pvp trees.

caraexas it made the gf and game unplayable we had a guild run of 4 in a fp it put two of us in 1 instance and 2 in an other we struggled to group and do ops etc along with not being aloud to enter there ship so it was a big problem for pve also apparently the wz queue was faulty with people struggling to queue leave queues and leave wz's after they were finished if got in. Also the changes you state were made cause pvp were wingin so y not only change them on pvp servers were that part the game should be played Edited by karlwaite

I don't pvp but I disagree with taking pvp off rp/pve servers as there are people who like to rp/pve/pvp. They like to play the whole game so they come to a server with their friends and pvp when they want to. Taking it off those servers is not the answer.

Neither is placating the whiney pvpers because they feel a skill originally meant to be used in PVE is making PVP to tough on them and they can't win.
