I tested it out multiple times to find out if it was the knockback or the root (from speccing into it) that increased the resolve meter. a) I tried it once w/ no resolve, and the meter went up which showed that some portion of it did apply. b) I tried again after the resolve meter was full and the player was not knocked back but the root was still applied.
