Trying to decide between assault troopers... Love the mobility of the class and absolutely love lighting things on fire and all buy cant decide if, with 2.0, id be better leveling the vg or commando. Which will shine better especially with the Nerf?

Are you going to PvP with them or just do PvE? If just PvE I would say go commando but if you are going to be doing a lot of PvPing, the VG would probably be better.

 

However, honestly, I'd wait a little while and see what other changes that they make to the ACs. They could undo the AP nerf or the could decide to nerf something more.

If you're looking solely at the assault tree, Vanguard is definitely the way to go both for PvP and PVE. You have access to Ion Pulse which significantly improves the tree on the Vanguard side (since Commando cannot use this ability).
