SWTOR-RP – Your roleplaying hub for The Old Republic

Greetings all,

When The Old Republic was announced, the staff at SWTOR-RP thought it appropriate to create hub for roleplayers of the game. Rather than using a simple forum-only concept, SWTOR-RP has been created as a blog and news site with a supporting forum for members to banter with each other.

Over time, the site has evolved in a massive way. Our front page houses game news, questions to the roleplaying community, competitions, roleplaying scenarios, columns, plus much more.

Our popular articles and columns:

Furthermore, to support the ever-growing RP community, we've launched our server-specific forums as well. Here is a list with links to each forum:

Don't forget to visit the front page and our main forum as well.

Not enough for you? SWTOR-RP houses its very own Wiki for The Old Republic. There you can use our page generators to create pages for your characters, lore, starships, and even your guilds. Our page is filling up with content, so be sure to add yours as well.

Be sure to keep up to date with all the latest RP happenings of The Old Republic by staying tuned to SWTOR-RP. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to PM me either here or on SWTOR-RP. We're also going to be using this thread to update you all with the latest news from the front page.

And remember...

Your news, your friends, your story, your roleplay at SWTOR-RP.com!

Like us on Facebook and Twitter :)

Update:

  • We've announced the winner of our very first competition run on the site. It was quite a success, and we've had some lovely art and written pieces submitted to win a signed copy of The Art and Making of SWTOR. Check out the article here.
  • Sebaya talks about consent and notification in RP situations in an edition of The Darker Side of Life. See what she has to say.
  • Want to know more about the mysterious Keeper? Have a look at our Imperial Profile of one of the most secretive men of the Empire in TOR.

We're kicking off in-character columns soon. Be sure to keep an eye out for those :)

Thanks for the kind words guys. Here's another update:

  • We talk about the "grace period," as well as making mention of a new IC chat room for Lord Adraas and the rest of the RP servers.
  • What do you think of the Legacy System? Let us know in our discussion in an All The Galaxy's A Stage spotlight.
  • We've began the in-character columns at SWTOR-RP! Check out Kit Saren's entry on the Black Sun on Coruscant.

Is there any real serious reason why any of that could not be done here though? It seems silly to encourage people to split up, most people don't have time to follow lots of different forums and this one has an OOC rp section, an events section, an IC roleplaying section, 20+ paid moderators and a fan fiction section, all stuff people in other games would love to have! :) Edited by SelinaK

Ego, this is just a continuation from SWG.

We're not a forum. We're a hub. And we offer roleplaying services that cannot be done here. We can't post articles, we can't run a wiki, we can't establish our guides, and we cannot have server-specific forums here The list goes on :)

I will be sure to check this out. Since Bioware has decided not to have specific server forums, I think it would be easier to see what is going on in the community on each server (and at large) then the way it is here. Not to mention the search button has been down for *maintenance* a little too long for my taste.

  • 2 weeks later...

Here are your latest updates from SWTOR-RP:

  • We recently covered an in-game event on the Lard Adraas server. Here is our in-character report from the event: Grand Opening of the Yocola Tonka. If you want an event covered on one of the RP servers, hit my PM box at SWTOR-RP.
  • Sebaya talks about Gray Jedi in an edition of The Darker Side of Life.
  • Don't know what Datacrons are? They'll definitely be of help to you in-game. Check out our coverage here.

Check out our Month In Review for December 2011. Can you believe that we posted 70 articles in one month? That's just a little crazy.

Our most important update is that of our chat bubbles coverage. Roleplayers suffer significantly when RPing in large groups and in large scale events. The chat box is too hard to follow. We need chat bubbles as a matter of urgency. Check out Beltane's coverage on the lack of chat bubbles, and get amongst the talk. Post your thoughts in our comments section of the article!

And what about the Shaltin Tunnels? Or it is limited to US servers only?

We've got forums for all RP servers. I just didn't update the original post. But the list is now complete (or should be :\) and you should find Shaltin Tunnels in the list :)

  • Our Managing Editor has posted an Editorial called Let the Wookiee Win. Check out this opinionated piece.
  • Our Central Broadcasting News Service Reporter, Kit Saren, has reported on The Sarlacc on Tatooine. Just what is this beast and what is it capable of? See what he has to say here in the DiscoveryNet Column.
  • Sebaya covers a very sensitive topic in The Darker Side of Life. Racism in roleplay.
  • Massively interviewed Gabe Amatangelo about the upcoming 1.1 patch. Check out our coverage here.
  • RHS News covered the Migrant Merchants' Guild. Check out the full article.
