Droids aren't cool, they don't have free will, just their programming. I'd prefer kind of a diplomat, which could be more RP character, more serious class story (it would be great to have a character like Padme or Leia) Their companions could be bodyguards , like Jedi/Sith, hired mercenaries, official troopers, primary skill: Persuasion and so on. It could be Senator for Republic and Moffs for Empire. Also i would really like to have Togruta species, they already have everything for that because of the NPCs.

And a third faction would be also pretty awesome, they could be some recently discovered species, planets (Gree empire :D) like the Voss. This way we wouldn't have problems with not enough space for hangars on current fleets. And yes, they could rise chronologically later, which could mean an extra chapter for the current classes too! Many think that BHs and Smugglers shouldn't be faction-related. Well, they already are, but maybe there could be non-faction-related versions of them in this empire, with some different abilities of course.

And I know it wasn't written in this forum, but slightly related to this(?): dark Jedi and light Sith should change their animations to opposite side (stasis->choke, shock->project etc.)

What do you think?

The big issue with making new classes would be changing the responses planet questgivers have for different classes (Calling Sith My Lord vs. calling the BH 'mercenary scum'.). I doubt Bioware will ever want to go back and do a whole extra thing of dialogue for all those quests already in game.

For that reason, I think a third faction would be the most likely way for us to get more classes, as they would create all new content, meaning no need to go back and redo all those conversations.

Droids aren't cool, they don't have free will, just their programming.

Also this is incorrect. Droids in SW are very prone to developing sentience, it's why memory wipes are a thing every few weeks for most advanced droids. Droids are programmed to be so intelligent and self improving by SW time that they 'improve' themselves into sapience. Some still end up bound by their programming post-sapience (HK-47) but others become free completely (Free Droid Enclave)

New advanced classes to the existing base classes is probably the best way to add class variety. And easiest to write.

A third Trooper class could be the Arms Master. They can use a greater variety of weapons such as sniper rifles, scatter-guns, vibroswords. Their skill tree is dps, crowd control with just a little healing, or the third one that Commando and Vangaurd already share. Of course, this would work well for BH too.

I like the Jedi with a blaster pistol idea. That's what Luke Skywalker was doing. I think that could be the 3rd advanced class for Smuggler. It could be called Force Adventurer or something.

I would love to see more species available for player characters. I understand a playable species will have to be able to speak Galactic Basic (or whatever it's called). Unfortunately, this probably rules out Rodians. But Mon Calamari, Devaronian, Nautolan, Nikto, and Weequay could qualify. I understand costuming could be difficult with some body types and that might be the reason near-human aliens are the only ones we really see available now.

Wookies could be great. Their story could be written into Ord Mandel and they could choose melee tank or ranged dps/support for advanced classes.

Force Adept - A force wielding class of either alignment. No lightsabers, but have access to other melee weapons such as staves, vibro swords, etc. An example of this would be the Witches of Dantooine. An advanced class would be beast master, like how the witches control rancors and other pets with the force.

In the Darth Bane trilogy, Darth Bane and Darth Zannah(his apprentice) fight 5 jedi on typhon in a sith lord's resting place. One of the jedi, a healer and strong force user, named Worror Dowmat, doesn't use a lightsaber at all. Instead he just uses battle meditation to improve his allies performance. In the end all the other jedi die, but he manages to still strongly use the force after he has been wounded.

It would be cool to see a class that is focused around battle meditation or just simply very strong in the force. Could be a great class for PvP and PvE.

Personally, I'd love to see a Diplomat ® and Imperial Officer (E) mirror class. We've got Luke-types, we've got Han-types, Vader-types, Obi-Wan-types, but where's the Leia-type? Reduced to minor character status orbiting the Smuggler (Risha)?

I think those classes would be a lot of fun. As far as Advanced Classes, I don't quite know what the difference between them might be. Perhaps one specializes in heals, while the other specializes in support? Not something I've put a lot of thought into.

It might be awesome, though, for one of the Diplomat's DPS-focused talent trees to be named 'Aggressive Negotiation'.

I want to see a playable Voss character, perhaps a neutral force character/mystic.

I think it would allow us to play as a character who is not Imperial or Republic.

Very good idea too, we have seen the two greatest armies of the Star Wars world in fighting always with each other and we can support any of the two bands.

But what about the independent band? That band who bets for the independence of the worlds (normally native) and fight against republic and empire? A complete game would include that class too and would be very innovative.

Personally, the most ridiculous, minor limitation in the game to me comes down to weapons.

My Jedi Sentinel NEEDS 2 lightsabers, otherwise he somehow forgets how to do the things he does? Why can he not use just 1 saber, or even a saberstaff?

My Bounty Hunter can't use a blaster rifle? Fett used one. Dengar used one. IG-88 used one. Hell, the Trooper gets blaster rifles built for the Aim stat, so where is mine?

Conversely, look at my awesome Shield Specialist Trooper, designed to get in close and smack things around! ... but he cannot use a melee weapon. There are NPC enemies in the game who function as Troopers with vibroswords; why can't I?

My Imperial Agent is -restricted- to using just a blaster rifle? Even though I get a blaster -pistol- in the CUTSCENES? Why can I not use this? The Smuggler has Cunning-stat Pistols, but I am stuck with a rifle because ....?

Being able to switch up weapons alone could lead to, at the very least, a little flavor. It could even open up the doors for Spec Trees being suited towards one type of weapon (A Sent/Mara has one tree for Single Hilt, one tree for Dual-Wielding, and one tree for the Saberstaff, or something like that).

... regardless, my Bounty Hunter is stuck with a pistol, and that's just wrong.

This is the one bit I can answer. Saberstaves require an entire different method of training just to avoid turning yourself into the black knight from Monty Python. Your dude never gets the option, so it's probably safe to assume you've gotten little to no training with them whatsoever. Even then, a fair number of your attacks would just look silly with a double-blade.

Or even choosing to forgo weapons altogether, even. Sure, I get that a Jedi can't use Saber Throw if they're not holding a saber. But what's up with BHs not being able to use Flame Thrower unless they're holding their pistol?

I agree that we will NOT see any more base classes implemented, although I would love to be wrong!

What may be nice though, would be to implement a 3rd advanced class in each base ( a sith trooper could be adv for BH, smuglger adv for Agent... etc..).

Loving the idea of beastmaster with capturable and trainable pets. Apart from that, I can't really see anything else within the SW universe that we don't already have.

Perhaps the actual base class could be "Native" and it can be a both faction option, with it's ship hangar and start point on a new starter world (Hutta or Ord Mantell).

This class is a "victim" caught up in the battle for the galaxy and wanting to help one side or the other,,,,,,

Perhaps "Partisan" ( a class specialising in use of traps, mines, turrets and grenades), "Sentient" (Beastmaster class. Specifically at one with nature, utilising animals and plants etc) and "Soulwalker" ( a class which harnesses the ancient spirits of his/her homeworld to perform powerful mental abilities including cranial blasts, DoT lifedrains and psychic trauma, a CC ability resulting in stat loss).....

I DO however think there are plenty of humanoid race options left. Obviously they must be able to utilise one of the 5 body types and equip boots etc, but Echani, Voss, Rodian, Nautolan, Duros and LOADS more...

An idea for the neutral class would be Dark Jedi, not in line with the Sith and no allegiance to the Republic.

I'd also like to see an exiled Jedi clan too, who follow the ways of the exile from KOTOR2.

But considering the vast amount of planets not included yet, I'd like to see some sort of ressurection of the likes of Manaan or Kashyyyk with a playable story.

There's so many untapped resources from the KOTOR games that could rekindle SWTOR, but I just think with it gone F2P it just won't happen.

Class 2: Sith Seer

Faction: Empire

Sub-Class 1: Sith Shaman

Don't think this could ever happen, but it would be cool:

Combat droid. A combined race/class. All your companions are droids as well. Only 1 AC, but there would be 1 tree for heals, 1 for tanking, and 1 for ranged DPS, so field respec would be even more useful. Sort of a jack of all trades. Heck, maybe get an extra crew skill slot.

ETA: While I am wildly speculating, you could even have a legacy requirement of some sort of unlock it a la WoW Death Knights - like have at least 1 55 on each faction, or whatever.

Instead of new classes we need extra story. For example the ability of being a Sith and joining the republic later or the other way around. One guy also said joining Darth Malgus - also a great idea. And what about joining Revan? There are so many possibilities for this game and Bioware doesn't want to do anything  It's just sad how much can be done for this game and the amount of brilliant ideas the gamers have and no one is putting them in use :(

It is not like they don't want to put those ideas to use, it comes down to resources and sadly they simply do not have them. Eric even went on to say that they are pretty much NEVER going to offer a faction change so I really we have to accept it. Oh and on a side note, I really can't stand Revan anymore, so I would not want anything else to do with him at all.

Played to much KOTOR?

I would like to be bale to play a green jedi

No. I am just sick of the focus Revan gets all the time and how everything must always be about him. IF and I say IF they ever did add a class, I would like to be an echani.

what would be a good idea is a neutral faction with the same sort of classes but the force users (gray jedi) would have a mixture of both force users ability's

the gray fighter would be a cross between the knight and warrior

and the gray (insert super cool name here) would be a cross between the counselor and the inquisitor :p

and they could have like a thug which is a cross between smuggler and bounty hunter

and a deserter a cross between the trooper and agent

and there story line ultimately would be fighting for independence from the republic and the empire so basically they want each planet to have its own government/army/laws ect ect if that makes sence :p

If EA/BioWare aren't lazy they should re-create the Smuggerl and Bounty Hunter storylines, put them both in the same faction and kill their alignment with both other factions.

For the Empire and Republic, they should consider making an Imperial soldier and a SIS agent.

But we all know this ain't gonna happen so why we even bother asking.
