LucasEighty
I mainly do PvP but only because i enjoy the the challenge & variety that comes with fighting opponents with brains who can change tactics & dont just do the same programed robotic action over & over again, like any FPS or RTS or SIM i always find the online side of them is more entertaining that said i also enjoy PVE but how could you not in this game... Terrankiller
He says that the team discovered that SWTOR had a huge PvP community and has since "turned a huge amount of resources" to developing more content for that side of the game. Paraphrased from Daniel Erickson, my question is why? They're ridiculously fickle, and I'm sure most don't even play anymore. So why waste resources on a side of the game for people who claim they're leaving for GW2? Those "resources" could be used to make the space battles better, more story content, mini-games, crafting, social activities, planets, live events, dungeons and raids and optimizing the damn engine further... Look at the Ilum debacle and Ranked Warzones; so much hate on these forums towards it. Bioware, stop trying to please them. Stop trying to make this some e-sport. They will never be pleased. And they've moved on. The PvErs who honestly want to give this game a chance, have not. I am sure Bioware will listen to you and the other 2 people who don't pvp. Captain_Zone
I am sure Bioware will listen to you and the other 2 people who don't pvp. I don't PvP..... much. But seriously, the PvP in this game is a joke. To base anything on PvP in TOR is actually pretty sad or funny. I'm still trying to decide which. Hotbox
The major problem pvp in this game is that there is NO OPEN WORLD PVP. Not only is there no open world pvp, its openly discouraged. Ever try to go over the pubbie side of the Corellia Black Hole zone to PVP on a PVP server? Try it and see what happens. Better yet, camp out and kill pubbies in a questing area. Won't take long before you're visited by a GM. No valor, no token. Fatigue and orbital strike zones. Turrets in cities that see through cloaks and one hit you. Why bother with a PVP server if you keep people from PVP'ing on them? All I see coming is more ilum nonsense frankly, and I grow openly discouraged daily. I'll wait it out until end of year, but I'm not holding my breath. I've pretty much given up on any real PVP in an MMO anymore. Nothing but a sea of raiding carebears and whining kids who do nothing but want things easier.

Hotbox
Have you tried EVE Online? If you can get into a good Corp there, the PvP is outstanding. I have, I love frigate piloting, have bunches of them and all the skills. I just never got into a big corp because invariably when I join one they ask me run crap or serve them in some way. I understand that, but its really not my thing. The nice thing about PVP in a frigate is that even if you get blown up -- and you will-- it doesn't cost much to replace everything. Yah I liked EVE. But I wish SWTOR had just some of these elements. Like making kills on Ilum anywhere on the planet count toward valor. Frankly any kill anywhere on a PVP server should count for valor. I'd also like to see high level guards count as valor too. Why? Imagine how many city raids you would see if they did-- and players would be bound to stop them. Imagine how alive world pvp would become if you said that depending on who controlled a planet , certain vendors and missions would appear. vonMannock
Hotbox, you are right!!! EVE is real PvP, your game skills help to avoid lose battles, your own skills to win them. I want, really I want to see most of ToR PvPers losing a fight and their equipment (probably they don´t see you thanks to theirs tears). But that is another world, another game. Eve economy and combat is a great target for ToR.
