Yeah you're right. Alright then, as you were (getting farmed by EAware's cash grab).

except, its really only credits for the event rancor, no one is spending cartel coins for tokens that ain't even possible, so yeah... :p

For 80K credits I spent to get the rancor? Not much of a grab, I've outright given other players more creds than that, and spent way more creds than that on ... just about anything you can name in the game, actually. :)

I nominate EA for the Nobel prize in agriculture, cause they are farming you guys good.
And just like when my wife is <maritally relating> me good, I am enjoying it. :)

After all, if you are not having fun when you are spending money, you are doing it wrong.

..... you can't be serious. You must realize that the whole point of this event is to drain everyone's credit reserves so they have to buy CM stuff to sell on the GTN for more creds; and, to make sure that everyone is low on creds so that when housing comes out, less people can afford to buy all the new cosmetic **** with credits, and have to instead use CC. I nominate EA for the Nobel prize in agriculture, cause they are farming you guys good.

sure, because its not like we have free will oh no sir, I see a banner for housing and I must buyz it with cartel coins, oh well done. If you have free will then we have free will, unless you are saying you are going to spend cc's on this stuff yourself.

Of course you have free will. A "cash grab" doesn't mean that players don't consciously and willingly pay them. The point is that EA is too focused on the $$$$$.

Like every other business?

No. Why do you think EA gets so much hate from the gaming community compared to other companies? It's in large part due to their obsession with micro-transactions and content that is unlocked with money rather than skill. Other companies sure like making money, but they also take pride in their work. EA just doesn't give a ****.

Perhaps because "all the cool kids are doing it?"

EA's BW division makes SWTOR. I enjoy SWTOR. I don't have any other interaction with EA. Therefore, I have no reason to hate EA. YMMV, but IMHO just going with the herd isn't a good reason to HATE.

But, feel free to post the heinous sins that EA has committed that so outweigh the pleasure I get from SWTOR that I should hate EA with every fiber of my being, like you seem to.

How so? And who is this "us" you speak of?

he means this is just a thread about rancors and the casino event, and the "us" ( which sadly does not include me) are the lucky winners of said rancors for little to no credits ( because someone on my server bragged how they got the rancor literally from the 5 free smuggler tokens that won him kingpin tokens that somehow against every single mathematical odd gave him a rancor.)

You are aware that the odds on his free spins were the same as the odds on any other spin, right? Some people just get lucky!

Not at all.

Dislike for EA largely comes from mismanagement of a number of IPs and studios they acquired in the past. Not to mention their tendency towards monopolistic practices(although by now most of the people who "hate" EA seem to have no idea why they hate EA, or even the reasons that people started hating EA in the first place; it seems to be more a matter of fashion than actually a perception of having been wronged personally in the past). Micro-transactions are not at all EA's claim to fame, if anything they're a bit of a latecomer to both that and dlc.

Also, wildly acclaimed games such as LoL employ both microtransactions and elements of p2win. Surprising as it may be, the "silent majority" seems more than willing to put up with both p2win structures and microtransactions.

I play LoL- it is not P2W. Hearthstone is P2W. MOBAs are not.

Idk how it is now, but back when I used to play LoL new heroes accessible only through RP would typically be more powerful than currently available ones. They'd usually nerf them not too long after, but still, people were paying for an advantage. Same thing happened in HoN.

The ability to access certain heroes to form team compositions is an advantage in itself(though admittedly how power scaled into late game is a lot more homogeneous across heroes in LoL than dota).

I've been playing for 3 years, and there have never been champs accessible only through RP/real money. Newer champs cost more IP than older ones, but never more than 6300.
