Honestly, I have lost all desire to level another toon

MMO's shouldn't be about story to begin with, one of the problems i'm having with this game is not a lack of story, it's the fact that it has one, lol... Perhaps i'm just used to the way every other MMO is, i know i'm not the only person that feels this way though, the class quests are great, i have no problem with that, but why on earth would Bioware ever choose to do voiced side quests, it just doesn't make any sense whatsoever, and voiced repeatable quests are even worse.

It was the main selling point of this one, anyone buying it should honestly have been prepared for it. Also this is a MMORPG, maybe it's just me but I sort of knew that when I am buying a Bioware game I am also buying their version of understanding of a RPG. Just because other MMOs did it differently it doesn't mean it sets the tone, even praised/hyped GW2 will obviously be centred about story.

But from your past posts you barley had any desire to level the first one....so what's your point?

It's soulstitch, guy has been badmouthing the game and devs since beta haha. Probably the best part is for all his talk he still bought the game and subbed. Wish the old forums were still around, could link the thread he got smacked around by a dev, now that was funny.

Some people are masochists.

I have 3 50s and I've listened to every convo. Do you know why? Because they are different for every single base class, and your responses are different as well. The only thing that stays the same is the actual quest.

No, they are not, 90% of it is the same, there is way to little class story for it to be interesting to level alts.

The difference between SWTOR and GW2 is that it won't have voiced side quests that drive you crazy because they are the same for every character you make on that faction.

No matter what Bioware tells you it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this game would have been much better had they toned down on the voice acting, VO for side quests is completely unnecessary, they should have just voiced the class quests and that's it, however there is still a solution to this problem, add the option to disable voice overs for side quests and repeatable quests, this is a must have feature for hardcore players.

Your opinion on how the story unfolds, is told, plotted and ends are purely your own opinion, and not fact.

Stop stating opinion as fact and hyperbole. If you don't like how a story is told, or how a story driven MMORPG plays out, this isn't really the game for you. You knew well in advance this was going to be story driven, and now that you have it, you feel compelled to state how you don't like the story or you prefer skipping it and portray it and it's quality as a fact, which it is not.

If somebody wrote a fictional story about you and your life, and somebody commented about how they thought the book sucked and was poorly written, how much of that would you believe is fact? None of it. This is also why you don't get your money back if you didn't like a movie.

I can't even bring myself to level my first toon to 50, i just stopped at level 45, i guess i just need some time away from the game.

The only selling point for this game IS the story. That's it. Every single other facet of SWTOR is a failure, and they just failed at the ending?

Why would Daniel Erickson allow this? People are supposed to be excited to level another toon. People honestly got to their ending of their character, and decided to level another toon? Why?!?

/another fail post.

I think I recieved all ya'lls desires then. Could you please take them back? I got in at Dec 14th, and still dont have a 50 because Im loving seeing all the other stories out there.

Selling excess leveling desire, $10!

Now this is what a normal gamer would say...

See when you rush to end game you end up a failure. Dont cry about it now.. no one forced any of you to cheat / hack your way to top pvp levels / end game.

That is all.

So basically you're saying that if you roll another character on the same faction you are going to listen to every side quest and repeatable quest all over again? If so, you really are a tolerant person.

People say that this game has incredible replay value, that is so far from the truth it's not even funny, the only thing that makes this game somewhat replayable is the main class quests, other than that it is absolutely painful to listen to sub-par voice acting and writing for the side quests.

another fail post. Why not just go back to the mindless grinding and questing you seem to want so much from those other epic games on the market.

Story trying to tell a successful mmo dev team whats good and whats not... the 2mill + subs they already is a credit to the game.

More and more wow types like you will leave [ god am hoping ] and the game will get better.

Worldofpandapokemancraft is still there when your ready.

The Trooper story ending is SO bad, I could not possibly want to invest in another toon to waste the time for another bad ending.

Please tell me that some other class has an ending that is worth doing because the epicness of the trooper story was balanced out by the failure of the trooper ending.

the inquisitor quest was pretty nice and probably the reason theres more imps then pubs from what little i've played on the pub side of things the storys are kinda bleh and the imp side there pretty good.

as far as another toon gos i fill you on that, been playing mmo's on and off for over 20 years or so now?? lol.. and honestly i just dont fill that need to play i mean sure its fun and newish but i just do not want to do another alt over and over and over and over and over....

theres nothing really engrossing for me at least the storys neat and all but theres just nothing making me fill that need to play even leveling my first toon the storys to spread out or theres just not enough of it to really keep me going, some of the story bits for all class's seem just thrown in for filler.

Err, your initial argument was that "MMOs shouldn't be about story to begin with" the voice-acting part was secondary to that. Either you make up your mind about whether you feel voice-acting or story is your main gripe or give up defending the first one. Either way both were initial selling points. You signed up for that without informing yourself about it, holding it against Bioware it is like going into a pub and being annoyed about the lack of French cuisine.

You will find many hardcore players disagreeing with you one way or another.

They gave you the option to space-bar through it, use it.

You don't get it do you, Bioware CAN address this issue, it can be remedied so easily but they choose to ignore us.

Sorry, but address what issue? This was no secret that this was how the game was meant to be. So now that the game delivered on EXACTLY what they stated they should change it because you purchased and invested in a product that told you exactly what to expect but now you don't like it? Sounds more like a failure on your part than Bioware.

Plus you would be a minority. Why would they change it when the majority are having no issues with this at all? That would be bad business and silly to say the least.

I just find it strange someone can actually find reason to complain when they knew what they were getting and purchasing then expect things to change simply because they invested in something they wouldn't enjoy. Guess society no longer bothers pointing in the mirror when they err but instead will look for someone else to blame.

Can't please everyone. I like it how it is:) More than any other of the clone MMORPGS that have come out in years.

I don't rush through my levels. I get bored I craft for awhile, do some space missions or go datacrons hunting! A MMORPG is what you make of it.

I also like to drop my storyline and go check out other planets that aren't in "order" and explore some new places. It's all good! Have fun and smell some flowers all you power leveler's! hehe

Peace!

Uh, actually GW2, WoW, EQ etc have the exact same quest lines for all the alts you play. SWTOR actually took it a step further and added a little variation depending on your race, class, response you choose. Some of the VO can be a little too wordy and when I come across one that doesn't shut up, I skip past it a little bit to continue on, but for the most part I love it. It actually keeps me interested in the quests rather than just running up to the exclamation point and hitting accept without reading anything the NPC has to say.

This is the first MMO I've played where I actually give a **** about the quests. I've leveled a trooper to 50 and am now playing alts and still listening to the VO.

Me personally, I love this game due in part to its story telling and voice acting. I have no main character, but several. Why you ask, because I want to see and experience each class and Advanced class.

At this time, I am leveling 5 characters together to experience the stories and the game play of the classes.

Dalmorn - Trooper - Vanguard Shield Specialist (lvl38)

Daldra - Jedi Consular - Sage Balanced (lvl38)

Holliday - Smuggler - Scoundrel Scrapper (lvl38)

Dalra - Jedi Knight - Sentinel Watchman (lvl24)

Dalgra - Trooper - Commando Gunnery (lvl10)

And this is just the Republic side. I have a few on the Empire side, but am not doing anything with them at this time due to having plenty to do with my Republic characters. I however will eventually get to the Empire side and experience the various stories the Empire classes have to offer.

When BW announced this game, the Voice Acting and stories was the selling point for me and I believe for allot of people as well. This game has allot to offer.

Really, if people don't like this game, then unsubscribe and find another you would like, a FPS would probably be more up your ally. But for some people to come on these forums and state their opinions like it is fact is just arrogant. Allot of people that play this game do not share those people’s opinions. But hey, to each there own I guess and everybody does have a right to an opinion. However, there is a right way and a wrong way to voice an opinion.

One thing that is so disappointing about coming to these forums is just how many people complain and whine about this game and never seem to be satisfied. To many people are always complaining and never providing constructive criticism and ideas into writing for feedback. Really, how many of the complainers actually put in time on the PTR servers and check out the patches, fixes and provide feedback before they go live? Instead, they just complain about anything and everything.

All considering, this game is very well polished compared to other games at there launch. Things are getting fixed and balanced constantly. Bioware does listen to its players. Just read the Dev blogs and you can see that. Examples would be improvements to the Crafting system and the GTN.

Bioware, I salute you and keep up the good work.

Oh yeah, Act 3 is not the end all be all of this game, the Acts and story will continue. Patience is a virtue.

This sums up what I was planning to say nicely. Thanks for saving me the trouble. LOVE the story-driven MMO concept. Makes the game feel fun instead of a mindless GRIND like every other MMO out there (especially lolcraft)
