Its been a while since I have done a fp. How viable is a hm in WH gear?

It's fine.

 

Edit: Might be rough for Lost Island HM though. For some classes the expertise penalty on WH is pretty high (as is the stat distribution). YMMV.

Fine for Hm FP.. hell itd prob get you thru most HM and NiM Ops(i wouldnt bring you to OPS but thats just me) FP's i'd have no issue with

depends on your role.

 

if you're dps'ing, no problem, it's perfectly fine.

 

if you're healing, you may have to take a few breaks

 

if you're tanking.. it will depend on the instance, and your healer.

 

you can do it with WH gear for any of the roles, the degree of pain will vary though.

I started tanking HM FP & SM OP in a champion set. And I've DPSed in rank 22 modded gear for HM EV. You'll be fine. HM Lost island and OPs more intense than HM EV and you'll probably run into issues.

As others have said you are more than fine gear wise for any of the Tier 1 HM FPs. You'd even be fine for HM Lost Island, but you'd probably want a good/experienced group for that one that can explain the fights to you. A couple weeks ago we ran HM LI with a DPS Guardian in full WH who had never made it past the droid. It went pretty smooth, I think we wiped on the droid once or twice and 1 shot everything else. I would just suggest reading up on some guides to learn the fights a little bit and you'll be fine.

Full War Hero with augments works for anything except Denova Hardmode. It's almost as if you are wearing full Rakata without augments (which was fine for every content).
