Hi everyone it has been awhile since I have played, probably around 2.0 is when I got off and just came back and am lvling with some family members and approaching 50 is it viable to go through the HM FP's at lvl 50 or just continue to Makeb and Oricon and get to lvl 55 and start getting gear then?

Yes, they are; save up Planetary comms, buy 58 mods from the Makeb vendor, they make lvl 50 hard mode FPs a breeze and you can get Black Hole gear from them and commendations to exchange for Campaign stuff. You can also run the old level 50 Operations to gear up in Hazmat/Dread Guard if you so wish, it will make levelling on Makeb and then doing the story on Oricon much easier. Oricon gives you a set of 66 gear which is good enough to start level 55 hard mode FPs.

Yes go through the 50 hardmode flashpoints for several reasons, as above poster mentioned you can deck yourself out in some decent mods with using planet comms. Also the flashpoints themself are good flashpoints its good content have to remember you're revisiting content just a little bit harder and the drops from these places are decent.

 

The XP you gain from them is worth it aswell.

Plus the daily is a big chunk of experience as well
