So is Gemini Prime a MacGuffin?

As the title says. We spend most of a chapter (14) working with Mandalorians to capture Gemini Prime and then we don't see her/it except for a couple of cinematics where she/it is being carted off. Will we ever see Gemini Prime again?

After all, she would be a good replacement for Scorpio after Iokath.

And FYI, link to definition of MacGuffin.

More of a reverse MacGuffin, a distraction. In effect, the GEMINI Prime has the effect of distracting us (and the character / Lana / Theron / etc) from the real flow of the story. And maybe it was a distraction created by SCORPIO so she could get on with doing what she wanted to do. We only have her word, after all, for the level of importance and utility of GEMINI Prime.

IIRC there was information about the Gemini droids, including Gemini Prime and her importance, on the database that Kaliyo grabbed during the failed relay station mission.

Engineering the mission to ostensibly take over the Gemini droids via GP was definitely Scorpio's smokescreen to get on the ship and do what she did, though. I definitely think Scorpio could have meddled with Gemini Prime in some nefarious way. She goes to 'sleep' the moment Scorpio locks into the Gemini mainframe on the ship, and never wakes up. I think that it's possible that Scorpio even might have locked a copy of her own memory in Gemini Prime.
