That thread bothers me as well, but the right to speak up goes both ways. As long as they treat it like our thread (any multiple threads on that subject locked and redirected,) it can stay there. It won't do the detractors a lick of good, but they still should be able to talk about their feelings about this as well.

Wow, some people aren't happy about how they handled SGRs? Funny how most people are unhappy to some extent about how their chosen feature is handled.

Huh, aren't some people unhappy with how they handled Illum or the FPs as well? Just look at the State of the Game thread; there is a lot of people very displeased with the handling of PvP as an example.

The reaction here isn't atypical. Not everyone is going to be satisfied with the answer nor the way this may play out.

Just like with any group with any other feature. It just so happens to be SGRs this time.

People complain about X, Y, Z feature being "done wrong, " all the time. So I don't know why this should be any different.

For my part, I'm just glad we got an update and got some rumors confirmed. Even if it's NPC flirts to start with, it's a step in the right direction.

Anyway, I saw your post in one of the other threads I lurk in saying you were done with the game. I wish you the best and may you find a game that suits you.

2) However, I'm still dissatisfied with the nature of the content we can expect in the expansion. Simply because it isn't equivalent to preexisting content.

3) In the end, though, I'm glad that a first step has finally been taken in regards to SGR content, and I'm looking forward to seeing exactly how it is handled... as well as future announcements regarding further content.

In my humble opinion, the fallout wouldn't be so bad if they had addressed this sooner. The silence led to all of this; the anger by the pro-SGR community and the outrage of the trolls. Perhaps if they had mentioned that it was still coming openly and publicly prior to this point and after the Guild Summit, players would have gotten used to idea. They probably wouldn't have freaked out so sodding bad after Mr. Hickman talked about in his SotG.

I would still like SGRA content on par with companion romances.

I have been thinking about this and initially I thought that SGRAs with Makeb NPCs would mean side quest givers with which you have 2 conversations with. Something like...

Quest Giver: "Hey, can you help me with a life or death matter that involves traveling to this section of the map, killing ten mercenaries, and retrieving five data pads from crates littered around the area?"

PC: [Flirt] "You have pretty eyes."

Quest Giver: "Will you help me then?"

PC: "Sure."

*PC completes quest and returns*

Quest Giver: "Thank you so much for obtaining those really important data pads."

PC: [Flirt] "Can we haz sex now?"

Quest Giver: "Yeah, sure."

*fade to black*

Yeah, I'm hoping it's nothing like this...but a romance with an NPC that plays a role in the main story for Makeb (and has a few encounters with the PC) could be decent. I'm thinking something like Watcher 2 for the IA or a character like Sgt Jaxo in the Trooper story.

I'm happy. It's not like they just suddenly decided to put this in. They've been working on this material since shortly after launch, they said this was coming, but the new regime that came in last spring doesn't like to talk to the players much. That's the big issue I have with them right now. It's not limited to SGR.

I thought the general attitudes of people here were far more positive than 90% of the reactions I read to various things in general chat over the last year. Example: 1)People cry about full servers and queues at launch, they make more servers -> Servers die down, people cry about empty servers -> Server merges happen, people cry about full servers -> some people still complain that the servers are too empty -> people unhappy about having to name change because of server merges -> people use the server merges to bash the game as a failure

Honestly, I think that once ROTHC is actually released and people see just how much they don't actually have to get involved in a gay relationship, nobody will care anymore. Nobody should ever have found this to be a big deal in the first place and it wouldn't have been if it has just been in at launch like it was supposed to.

They sound just as entitled too when they get an answer they have wanted. My wanting to transfer my other two toons is now a moot point but I still have yet to hear anything about that, and I would be will to pay for it. You won't have to worry about flagging me or sending me nasty PM's (not you but others) whatever I will leave, and the forums as well .Seeing as my time is limited I no longer really need to say much about the game now other then it was fun for the most part while it lasted. To those saying those opposed to SGR should have no voice, they do just like you do.

You know in the very same game status report that announced SGRAs they also addressed server transfers.

Here's a thought I have regarding Makeb. I find it curious that the first instance of SGRs are coming with a story update (I refuse to call that a full expansion) that revolves around the Hutts. They are known for pleasure houses among other shady things.

 

I'm wondering if this means some of our first SGR flirts are going to come from brothel workers. That would send an interesting message to be sure. I have to wonder; is the Hutts the excuse for SGR flirts?

Ick! No, I don't think they'd go that far. Unless they put it in for OGR, but that would probably be for a joke. Thanks to the movies, especially Empire, I never ever want a Hutt touching me even via a video game character.

I think it's going to be the brother workers and not the Hutt owners that it'll have SGR flirts.

Calling it now: One of the first female SGR flirts is going to come from a Twi'lek "dancer" that works in a Hutt pleasure palace.

Personally, I'd find a flirt option with a Hutt to be hilarious. I kind of hope there'd be one just for humor's sake. I doubt there's really much of a tie-in with the hutt's lifestyle in the SGR options. We're probably going to be working with envoys of the Hutts as well as our faction leaders, and they did mention that we could actually swear loyalty to the Hutts. To what extent, I do not know.

Working as an envoy to the Hutts is perfect for my LS Sniper. She's gone freelance, so I can see her taking up what work she could.

It would be great, but I think the invisible shirts are supposed to the answer to that. There is some potential there, however. Hopefully they'll take more full advantage of that idea.

Well, I have to admit to an ulterior motive for having an Agent and a Bounty Hunter.

 

Both have female companions that are first companions. But I tend to like high DPS and distance while playing.

BH is just an awesome class with an awesome starting companion! Which I find kinda sad, as I wanted to really enjoy the force users, but finding I love the BH Arsenal Spec the best so far.

Good thing Legacy Abilities help give the feel of a force user!

To be honest, I do not agree they have the right to voice their opinion on SGR, since that opinion, in most cases, stems from their real life views on homosexuality, which, expressed on this board, is against the forum rules.

 

I'm not too enthusiastic about this thread, as my assumption is that the same kinds of fights will break out that have occurred in General, whenever this topic has been brought up in a singular thread there. Plus, the OP isn't really suggesting stuff, he's more or less just claiming his dissatisfaction.

 

I'm glad though that a few more people have popped up, posting reasonable arguments for SGR, so I can lay it low. I'm tired of this fighting, I'm tired of all this anti-SGR crap.

 

I just wish we could just be looking forward to the content now without having to deal with these people all the time.

The Cartel is a lot bigger than that, it is a vast galaxy spanning alliance of various Hutt factions involved in all kinds of crime and even some legitimate business. Maybe some of their businesses are cantinas and brothels, but I can guarantee you that a larger portion of their business is in drug running, slave trading, arms dealing, and general graft and corruption.

Point taken, for sure. As a side note, I loved the quest where you take out spice factories. It's rather near and dear to my heart. I'm glad that quest is in the game.

Anyway it does seem like our chances of getting SGR flirts from only the underground aspect of the lore is high. I really hope some NPCs not associated with the Hutt Cartel have SGR flirts too. Otherwise, it could only be criminals and prostitutes that have SGR flirts. They do have some legitimate businesses, so I'd be okay from getting flirts from them as well.

Despite some of my feelings about the way this whole thing has been handled, I really try to credit them with more taste than making SGR flirts only coming from the criminal side of the Hutt Cartel. There are days that my cynicism can get the better of me.

Nice to see Bioware spending a bunch of time for SGR instead a new flashpoint, raid or warzone.

Later you guys who wants SGR (I'm not against), will complain "there's no new content? No new flashpoint? No new raid? whadahell BW?".

I'm in favor of SGR, but 2% of the players will enjoy that.

New flashpoints 98% of the players will enjoy that, 2% just pvp.

See, it's so much time spent for something useless compared to new FP, WZ and raids.

Gays deserve your space in the game, I respect that but the community wants and needs new contents who EVERYBODY will enjoy.

I'm sure there is far more people that want SGRs that any of us think. ME3 and both the DA games had SGRs in them and those went triple platinum. As David Gaider said, they do track who uses what. I'm sure SGRs weren't the only reason for that, but it obviously didn't hurt anything.

Anyway, this is my last post for awhile. We've got our update, so I'm taking a break. I need one, and I need some time for all of this to settle down.
