Going to Comic Con
Prudii and the rest of his squad moved through the Galactic Market Convention Center and Prudii took it all in with a mixture of awe and confusion. He'd never been to a convention before, but Tanno Vik had insisted they visit during their vacation, so Prudii had reluctantly agreed.
His mistake, however, was putting Elara in charge of costumes; she had gone all historic on them. Prudii was wearing an imitation of Cassus Fett's armor; Jorgan had on an orange flak jacket that was similar to Carth Onasi's; Vik wore a Sith Triumvirate armor set; Yuun was dressed as Jedi Knight Jolee Bindo; and Elara was dressed in a white Handmaiden's outfit. Forex had blatantly refused to allow any paint to mar his chassis.
Prudii sighed. "One would think we were at a history convention."
Vik grinned and flexed, letting his silver armor catch the light. "I don't know," he said as two scantily-clad Twi'lek women tittered and waved at him, "I kind of like it."
Prudii rolled his eyes and put his arm around Elara's shoulder. "It's okay,
. I like my Cassus armor."
Elara beamed. "Thank you, sir."
"Hey; we're off-duty. And we're
. Drop the sir; it's Prudii."
She nodded. "Of course, Prudii."
They moved through the convention center. Once, Vik stopped to buy an Incredible Houk action figure, which he shoved in his backpack with a childish grin, but the rest of the time they just took in the sights.
"They're doing an interview with the writer of the Imagination Comics in fifteen minutes," Jorgan said. "The man's a genius. Captain Coruscant was my idol as a kid."
Prudii nodded. "All right; lead the way, Jorgan."
Outside the interview room, Havoc Squad got in line and waited patiently. A group of people walked up behind them and Prudii recognized Jasin and his crew. Doc was jumping up and down like a kid–easy to see why; he was wearing a Captain Coruscant costume, so he must've been as excited about this as Jorgan was. Or more. Jasin, Scourge, Rusk, and even T7-O1 were in costume as well, but Kira was bundled up in a brown robe, for some reason squatting and trying to hold the robe together at the knees. Even as she did, a pair of male Zeltrons in Ultra-Man costumes walked by and leered at her.
"Hey, guys," Prudii said.
"Major," Jasin greeted. "Good to see you."
Prudii glanced at Kira. "Doc bought your costume?"
Kira nodded miserably. "Yeah."
Doc shrugged innocently. "
"The door's opening!" Jorgan called.
Prudii turned and began to enter the room along with hundreds of other fans. He took a seat near the back, letting military instincts take over just in case. The interview ended with no problems–not that Prudii had really expected any–and the squad left.
"How's lunch sound?" Vik asked.
Prudii nodded. "Sure." He waved at Jasin and crew. "See you guys later."
Jasin and the others waved goodbye and were lost in a crowd of costumers. As Prudii walked away, he thought he could hear Kira smash her fist into a gawking male's chin.
