I would like to see each person's story as to how they have gotten to where they are now. Not just the devs, but also the community management people. I love seeing how people get into this work.
I started off as press. While in college, I was an intern at DC Comics and at first I thought about going into publishing, but Dragon Age: Origins renewed my love of games and I knew that the games industry was where I wanted to be. I freelanced at Newsarama for a year or so before meeting Stephen Reid and applying for a job on the community team.
My biggest advice for anyone who wants to get into the industry is to not be afraid to put yourself out there. Go to conventions, meet the people you would be working with, and make yourself memorable. Find out what makes you a unique asset and really hone in on that skill set.
