About Us: Alea Iacta Est (AIE) is a casual gaming community that was started by the creators/fans/friends of The Instance/ELR/Buzz out Loud/Jawbone Radio/Mahalo Daily. We have a presence into many games, including Star Wars:The Old Republic. The phrase "alea iacta est" is Latin for "The die has been cast", the famous saying by Caesar before crossing the Rubicon river and setting his path inexorably to war with Pompey. Our use of this motto plays on the double meaning of dice used in gaming.

AIE is a very casual guild. We are not a strict raiding guild nor a strict PvP guild nor a strict role-playing guild (although we may have groups of people in the guild who pursue such interests). We are a guild that believes that all players should be given the opportunity to experience multiple aspects of game play and that a lack of experience does not imply a lack of aptitude. Our guild members enjoy a family friendly, pressure free zone to enjoy the game of choice, to play how they wish to play.

AIE presence in SWTOR is dual faction, meaning we have guilds set up on both the Empire and the Republic. Members are welcome to play either faction within AIE, or only play on one if they prefer.


One reason you feel we should spotlight your guild: The members of AIE are a different sort of gamer. Instead of accepting the norms of station chat or the language you may hear in the next "Call of Duty", we hold our members to a higher, more respectful standard. We offer to our members a family friendly, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere when you are with AIE.

Anything else about your guild that you would like to add?

AIE has also done other in game guild events since launch, such as a Craft Fair, Running of the Beefcakes, a Scavenger Hunt and has a very active forum community as well.
