  1. Hi All, Please don't take this the wrong way and jump all over me for being super lazy or whatnot. I'm just here to seek honest opinions on this topic. A couple weeks ago I bought the HK mission series, and started it. I have gathered all the pieces that don't require scanning, though I have tried scanning my rear end off. My problem is that I'm trying to scan for these parts all alone. With even one other person, the scanning time would be halved, not to mention if there were whole groups scanning. However, I have rarely seen anyone asking for others to team up in scanning, and I received no takers when I offered to join with others in doing this. (I should mention this doesn't surprise me given how long the companion has been available) My question is- do you find that it would be OK for the devs to make scanning for the parts a little easier now that most people that will be pursuing the quest will be doing so as a solo player? I have a very limited time at night and on the weekends that I can play, and spending several hours scanning one area is not the most ideal way to invest it for me right now. If the process was sped up a little, I would love to have my own HK companion however. What are your thoughts on making the process a bit less "hit or miss" and more straightforward for those of us trying to do it now? Thanks for your input- and any advice for speeding it up "as-is" would be appreciated!!
  2. QFE. This is what I ended up doing last night. He was so under-geared from his mainhand not having a decent piece, I had to buy one last not off the GTN. There were pry 10 of em for sale on there, cost me 13K. But now that I have it I can just buy the trooepr mods from the planet com vendors from here on. So that's at least cool. That dang lizard stole my heart. He rocks so hard.
  3. The poster above me is right on. Going the healing route while leveling (leveling a sage right now) just takes longer than if you go DPS. It's tough though because in WZ's and the occasional flash I like to heal with this toon so Can't win em all i guess!
  4. Just added your blog to my rotation! Keep 'em coming
  5. just wanted to comment that after reading this, I respec'd my sentinel from Focus to Watchman and... WOW. AMAZINGLY BETTER. It was taking me FOREVER to kill even lowbie mobs when I was using Focus. I was Focus from 10-38. Now, at 39 I am Watchman and LOVE THE CLASS. I have honestly hated it up until now. Watchman is the way being a jedi knight should feel. WOnderful. Thanks so much to those of you who take the time to comment constructively.
  6. I was starting to really hate the way my trooper looked for always having to wear the helmet that looks like a *****. However, I have had the BH helmet for a few weeks now, and I am once again inspired to play my main character, my vanguard. Thank goodness for those helmets. Thank goodness.
  7. Just wanted to thank the poster for making this thread. Well done. I am rolling a smug now, and this convinced me that healing is the way to go for me
  8. Vanguard is indeed awesome, and worthy of your love. I've not yet found a class so balanced and well rounded.
  9. What a nice Frenchie!! Keep up the good work my friend. Binding, as stated before, helps immensely. Good games to you!
  10. Vanguard is the tops. but don't spread it around- we don't want all the lil jedi and sith switching over Seriously though, I am wearing decent but not GREAT gear as a 50, and almost always get in the top 2 in the WZ, if not 1st. Love love love VG.
  11. I rock the eliminator and love it. If you're assault, you're using HIB a bunch. That 15% bonus is awesome. As simple as that for me
  12. the reason that this issue is the biggest disappointment out of all the other issues from this most resent patch: guard was working perfectly find before. I will not understand why or how they mess up a system that was working perfectly fine. Now, if they had intended to MODIFY or nerf guard so that it's nearly worthless in pvp, ok- fine, i get that. They want us to all be DPS sith guys- okay. But when they just mess around with it for the sake of messing around with it? jesh. Cooldown modifications? Ok- I personally don't desire them, but I get it... Illum changes? Ok- sure. Illum sort of sucks right now. Guard changes? This one is beyond me.
  13. to each their own, but I have done a ton better in PvP as assault spec over the tactics spec. I ran tactics from 10-50, always wishing I had a little more "killability" and with assault, I feel like I do. If I am medal harvesting, I will roll ion cell with guard to get the medals for that, then switch over to plasma for some dps medals. Going assault and using both ion and plasma when appropriate has totally rejuvenated my love of vanguard. but again, to each their own
  14. I will be totally honest and warn you that things won't be too fast. If I were you, try using Aric when you're not doing the harder missions while leveling (most class quests you won't need a healer for). You will have to reload at the end of combat, but you'll blow through the mobs much faster. When you get to those harder mobs (elites and occasional champs) pull out Elara and just take your sweet time. Thats my 2 cents worth anyways:)
  15. I'm with the post immediately prior to my own: I love being a vanguard; while in PvP as well as PvE. I guess it's all up to preference I suppose.
