  1. Sometimes having too many x's and such in a name can get annoying, but yours goes full circle back into awesome territory. 8/10 for Vyxxyn. My marauder is Chryss. With legacy, will be Chryss Crenthum. Her relatively normal last name is because the legacy story will start with Republic characters.
  2. In most MMOs I've played, I get one character to max level, and have a bajillion alts that never get there. In previous games, I just make a new toon and mess around with them to give myself a change of pace. In this one, I feel like the story will keep me going. We'll see, I don't even have my "main" to 50 yet due to lack of free time.
  3. Have you gone to a trainer lately? The only ways I could think of that a mob three levels lower than you could spank you is if you hadn't been to the trainer in like, twenty levels. Or your gear is absolutely horrid. Regardless, if you continue to have issues with a quest, there's no shame in asking someone to tag along and help you out.
  4. People like them feline species. Same thing happened in STO. No idea why, but more options the better.
  5. My scoundrel dies all the time since I am reckless and perpetually under-leveled. With that character, I just do the class missions until I unlock the next FP, then level up to the next planet via groups. My little marauder has yet to die, though. Both are very low level, so we'll see.
  6. By and large my experience with the group finder has been quite good. Though I am a new player, so I've only run a couple dozen FPs at this point. I've only had to put one person on ignore (everyone else did, too) for needing on every single drop even if he couldn't actually use it. We didn't even realize he was doing it until the second to last boss when someone looked at the logs.
  7. I have had a few players help me out tremendously in my couple of weeks playing the game so far. Running me through flashpoints, explaining mechanics. Hell, a couple just followed me around as I quested to help me out and answer questions. Was rather lovely.
  8. I'm a new player, and every time I go to a new planet there are people there. Even on weekdays. People are looking for groups for heroics, etc. Maybe there was some golden age that I wasn't a part of where things were packed with multitudes of people strolling about, but there seems to be people around whenever I log on to level my little toon some more. I've found groups for heroics on every planet I've been to, and I don't think I've ever waited 15 minutes for a flashpoint group. (Though full disclosure, I am a healer. That tends to help in most MMOs.) I don't PvP though, so I have had little experience with that.
  9. This. The drop in game price was a huge decision for me to start a sub. That, and the knowledge that later on will be able to switch to F2P if I don't have a lot of time to play. Though honestly, getting completely burned out and bored with STO was the catalyst that brought me here before all that.
  10. Yeah. Load times are sucky. It really eliminates the idea of questing while waiting for group finder, because it takes you so long to get back to your quest area. You spend all your time in load screens and traveling. I have found that very disappointing. They should give you some temporary instant travel to your current planet straight from Fleet.
  11. Yeah, I was very surprised at how well the game is running on my computer. I wasn't expecting it to be smooth. But I get maybe ten minutes of lag a day, and I'm pretty sure that's due to my internet not the computer.
  12. I play on low graphics settings, so I don't see a lot of this. Choke is just the hanging guy + sound effect. I didn't even realize I was missing out on this much...
  13. As a new player, I've noticed a decent amount of people on each planet I come to. Even on the weekdays. And many of the people I group with are actually new players, not just alts. Edit PS: Also, this has made it much more fun as a new player to actually have people running around near me and willing to group. I've had many experiences in MMOs in the past where I joined the game late and never saw anyone until I hit end-game. This is very refreshing.
