  1. I couldn't agree more. What I want to know is if the promises of more story coming this year would materialize. I don't mean flashpoints, or ops, or anything like that, I mean chapter 4 of our class stories. Not telling us anything about the plans isn't going to help people keep subscriptions. I'm not alone in saying that what people want is open world PVP not another warzone. We appreciate the new warzone, but grinding warzones -- new or old -- over and over and over again gets very boring fast. When is the promised fixing of Ilum going to occur. EA may not know this (and it would be sad if they do not) but layoffs have put fear into me and several of my friends. If the group they already had couldn't keep up with the amount of content we deserved, how is an even smaller group going to be able to? I always read the posts about new content hoping to have new light shed, but it's just an ops, a warzone, and a companion. All of these things, based on past experience, can be fully tackled and completed in under a month. I don't think anyone on these forums is looking for tons of random "content" updates in the sense of simply more "stuff". Customizations are nice, and boosts or a new tier of items -- but where is the substance? I guess if I have any question that summarizes the above, it would be this: Can (and will) the smaller and "restructured" development team that was left after the layoffs produce more story content (i.e. class chapters) and work on open world PVP at a faster rate than the huge team that existed previously? If the larger team couldn't produce enough story content to keep up with the players or fix Ilum, then without a direct answer to the question above, the logical deduction would be that the answer is no. If that is so, I will consider leaving after my subscription is up, as I cannot afford to wait for the development of F2P systems and cash shops while loyal fans stay starved of significant content (i.e. story) and get a fluff update once every 3 months. I just need some transparency. On an unrelated side: Seems like EA's stock would benefit from Transparency too -- and if it wouldn't, so help them when the next quarter comes around. On that note, good luck with your work, and since my subscription will still be up, I look forward to seeing how good the new content is.
  2. Let's see: Signed up for the forums before Stephen Reid, and was visiting the website from the moment it came on which was roughly a year before I became a member of the forums, if my memory is right, more or less. Participated in Beta and actually filled out the surveys. Put up with the enormous amount of bugs the game had initially, including some that were incredibly frustrating, and also put up with the same queues as everyone else because CE owners that pre-ordered didn't get any special consideration for that. By this point all pre-order CE owners that are active would have been active for about 8 months, 2 of which would have been free, but 6 of which were paid for. So yes, I'd say it's safe to say that considering they paid almost double what everyone else paid up front and didn't get very much to show for it in game, and put up with a lot of annoying little bugs initially, they are pretty loyal. Some people didn't start saving for this game when they first heard the rumors about it. Others did. I'm not saying everyone is rich, but in 4 years, if you pick up pennies from the floor, you can probably get a nice little bit of change extra and buy the CE. How long have YOU been around? But this isn't a competition of who is more loyal and who isn't among us. It's about the fact that the more you pay the better customer you are, and the more you pay up front, the better customer you are. As such, yes, I do believe there should be a significant reward in game for that. Maybe something worth more than an 8k speeder and a wristband that lets you go into an area that nobody uses. Just a thought. Edited: Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all CE owners are created equal. I am saying, however, that 1 CE owner, before even subscribing, is the equivalent of someone that purchased the normal edition on day 1, and then paid for 6 months of game time up front. CE owners that got it pre-ordered are not only going to have a 6 month advantage on everyone money wise if they keep up with the subscription, but also helped bring in countless people into the game. Would you have joined had it not been for your husband? Perhaps or perhaps not. I know many people, some who got the CE too, who joined because of me. We do not get any credit for that, however.
  3. I'd say many of the CE owners were probably among the most zealous promoters of the game from the start. We were the ones making suggestions in beta, putting up with all the bugs that were in the game at first, putting up with the unbalanced and awkward crew skills, dealing with and reporting the warzone cheaters; and yet loyally paying month to month while hundreds of people complained over the game and left in droves after the first month. It's hard to prove what we did, but I'd say many of us can point to several other players and say: I got him or her into this game. Or: I got him or her to join this. Perhaps we can say: "That person remained a subscriber because we helped him and gave him a sense of community in an empty server" Or: "We did Esseles/Black Talon with that noob so that they would feel welcome and stay." But what are the rewards of being here from the start? A founder title? As much as I appreciate the founder title, I don't use it on any of my characters, because the titles that come with the character are better in my opinion. Yet now there are absolute newbies that came into the game 4 months into it after half the stuff had been fixed, sent an email to a friend so that they would buy the game on amazon for a 1/7 of the price that I got it for and a 1/4 of the price my friends got it for, and they get an item that is more useful than all of the items available to CE combined. Bioware didn't want to give an unfair advantage to people just because they could afford CE, and I respect that. And I am not saying I want people who are inviting friends and helping this game survive to be penalized and have their speeders nerfed, either. What I AM saying is that giving people these speeders just because they can afford to buy a second account or got lucky with a friend that's willing to pay for the game, is giving them an unfair advantage! And if you're going to give out unfair advantages, it should start with those that gave the most for the longest amount of time, and then pan out from there. Allow the longspur STAP to be upgradeable for a moderate credit fee and have great resistance to being knocked off, or give out an item that is equally useful to this speeder to your veterans.
  4. /signed I've been pretty quite on the forums for months. Decided I'd come out today and sign some suggestions that need implementing and make some too.
  5. /signed You can make it a part of legacy.
  6. I agree with you completely. Give the CE players a distinct advantage. At this point they are the most loyal customers that this game has had.
  7. You can't invite him unless his email isn't linked to any account that was ever active. So basically, no.
  8. Agree completely. I've been around since this website first opened up, and created my forum account long before most devs. Back then I was the one that tried to get as many people as possible interested in the game. 4 of them bought the game, 2 became active subscribers. One of my friends and I both bought the collector's edition, and another friend of mine bought digital deluxe. In turn, we get a lvl 25 speeder which is essentially worth 8k vs a vehicle which competes with a rank 3 and has high damage resistance which could arguably be worth 500k or more. This speeder should, at the minimum, be accessible to us through the collector's edition vendor. Or, the speeder that came with our version of the game should have an optional speed upgrade and damage absorption upgrade that you can stack onto it for a fee, or automatically. Overall, I guess it would be too easy to fraud. But a lot of the people that found this game didn't do so by advertisements, they did so by word of mouth. And no one is going to reward us for that. Yet, the way I see it, so what if it's likely that a minority will try to abuse the system if you open up the rules a bit for what counts as a referred friend? Aren't happy subscribers more important than avoiding rewarding some individuals too much? Aren't they technically already awarding some individuals too much, considering that my friends bought the game for $60-150, and now the game runs for $20 but those people get rewarded when we weren't? Just my 2 cents.
