  1. Sith Warrior Slight necro reply as I am just now returning to the game and have reached this point. I've sat here for about an hour trying to make a choice and come up with a reason to rationalize my decision. I am going to return to the Empire and in my mind the reason is a simple one. It is better to be essentially second in command in the Empire than to be at the helm of a dying Alliance. Both the Gravestone and the Eternal Fleet are gone. Without them your space force and ability to project power is diminished. You have no shipyards and no way to replicate that technology. Without that tech your soldiers are now at risk and you have less of them to begin with. The Empire and the Republic both have essentially endless troops and you do not. As such it seems better to integrate back into the Empire and look for a moment (if one ever comes again) to try and elevate you and yours to the top again.
  2. If they are closing down data centers for entire regions, odds are this game isn't doing that well anyways. I'm east cost player and after this recent BS, I will be canning my sub after my name is secure. Honestly, I'm ready for someone else to start developing another Star Wars MMO. This ones tired, overly CM oriented and doesn't get new content fast enough for my taste.
  3. I consider 80ms to be insanely good ping. Having said that... Other people are suffering from MUCH MUCH higher ping. Mostly oceanic users. It was wrong of them to do this and they have effectively ended the game for Aussie users.
  4. After my name is secured its probably time I go back to F2P. I really don't have much respect for EA or Bioware these days. Even less after this particular stunt. I've enjoyed SWTOR here and there, but never to the degree that I enjoyed SWG during its prime. While unlikely in the short term, I'm pretty much ready for a new Star Wars MMO. This ones just to tired, with to little new content.
  5. Pretty dirty to completely do away with west coast servers.
  6. Yep its broke. The queue is growing, but you will never drop below number 1 in the line when you reach it.
  7. A huge chunk of the content in this game is solo or small group. I really have no interest in forced mergers. I would be game for free transfers that have a cooldown and I would be game for making cross server queues. My 2 cent.
  8. I got this idea from Wildstar, which already has this particular feature. You can select from multiple atmospheres/backdrops for your house there. Day, night, sunset, sunrise, rain, storms and other various weather. Even stranger things like crazy colorful skies or meteor showers. I think it would add a bit of atmosphere and variety to the existing SHs, since all of this is static right now.
  9. I've tried several different models with multiple volume settings on Yavin. All activated after being placed. I can't tell that any of them work. I never hear any sound beyond the activation chime.
  10. https://swtorstrongholds.com/category/decorations/method/cartel-market-certificates/ I still have quite a few of the certs. Looking around to see if anyone is interested in buying the decorations. Thanks, J
  11. Nah. I subbed to enjoy the new story content, but my Command Level has only risen to level 6. I have zero interest in the format they are using. The changes they proposed and the lack of anything new and fun to do will keep me as away. I've got some other games on my radar next month.
  12. That is very hard to read. The punctuation and emojis make it come off as condescending and sarcastic. Not going to change my heart on the matter with that mess.
  13. I'm going to tread into dangerous territory here, but I didn't really care for this film. Technically it was beautiful and it had its moments. However, it has some parallels with SWTOR. In that it lacked what some would consider to be key elements of a Star Wars. It had a very grim and gritty feel to it and while I suspected that most of the characters would die, I did think I would feel something for them by the end of the film. Sadly, I did not. It limps off into the sunset without giving me a compelling reason to love or hate any of them. Probably because they threw so many characters at us at once. So they all suffer from lack of screentime. The height of the film for me was the space battle at the end (one of those areas swtor suffers). Vader just felt like a cheap gimmick tossed in so they could put him in the trailer and sell a few more tickets. Neither Tarkin or the Director felt like very good villians and each of them do very little. In fact Tarkin comes off as a bit of a fool to me. He destroys an outpost that he could easily retake, all because he fears they might steal these plans. Yet he knows exactly what the Director knows... Which is that same data could reveal the flaw and then they could correct it. Guess they ran out of time and needed to kill those last two off pronto. The other films have ups and downs. This one felt like mostly downs. As such it has very little replay value for me. I have watched the original films countless times and I have even rewatched the prequels a few times. This on the other hand is probably something I won't touch again for a long time.
  14. This is pretty much me. I started the expansion this weekend after things had calmed down slightly and then went into pvp with all my old 208/augmented gear. I was doing extremely well, much better than expected. I inspected others and at most they had some 230 stuff on. They had no set bonus and most of them are unwilling to augment these blues. The 208 might carry my shank tank much longer than expected.
  15. I don't think this newest expansion is the NGE of SWTOR, however it is a step in the wrong direction. However, the NGE was entirely to blame for the complete and total meltdown of SWG. I lived and breathed that game all the way through and several months into the NGE. I have never seen a population exit more quickly. The developers themselves came out after the game's demise and have admitted that they ignored the community and their game suffered from turning a blind eye and a deaf ear.
