Having noted that Free 2 Play players cannot, in-fact, whisper most players, I believe an option to allow yourself to receive whispers from all players would be a good choice to provide. Given that unless a player makes a purchase worth $4.99 they also cannot use the general chat channel beyond origin worlds, being unable to receive whispers pretty much blocks out effectively all community interaction with new players, effectively keeping them out of group content beyond the origin worlds and beyond LFG (which is in itself, limited to 3 times a week). This option thus keeps the lid on the spam reasoning I believe is behind this move, as players make a choice whether they wish to receive these whispers or not, whilst providing an option to those of us who want F2P players to actually stay and get invested in the game, and in turn, perhaps one day invest fiscally in the game, can try and make that happen.
