  1. The idea of SWG was brilliant, the execution, specifically the CU and beyond was not....I miss the pre CU, SOE tried too hard to mimic WoWs success
  2. A.) Because WoW happened B.) Because WoW kept happening C.) The life of the game was at it's peak during the time before the CU hit, that's when it tanked, because those that wanted to play SWG not Star Warcraft had been around, once the CU happened, people felt betrayed. Look at Everquest, it never had much more in terms of subs at its peak compared to games today, SWG was released at a time when the MMO was VERY young, paying a monthly subscription for ANYTHING gaming related was almost unheard of still, SWG had a very unique system that worked for a very niche market, unfortunately WoW happened, made MMO gaming streamlined and attractive to people that don't want to think too much and then every company had to follow suit otherwise their product would be deemed inferior. It's pretty stupid that SWG couldnt just revert themselves back to pre CU, that by itself would have skyrocketed subscriptions. the EMU is a project that is picking up steam, its shocking that a game released in 2003 still has a following of people that want to play it as it was. It's a long way from complete, but to be able to log in and see the things I haven't seen in almost 9 years is truly amazing, and almost prefer it to what EA/Bio have crafted here, which is essentially Star Warcraft. The world in TOR is dead, it does not change with your choices, in SWG a city could be rebel controlled or imperial controlled because the players decided to band together and attack the opposing factions city and take control of it. It may not have had much of a story, but at least I was living in the world of Star Wars.
  3. KOTOR 3, even if SWTOR was better than WoW, I'd still say KOTOR 3
  4. I resubbed too, I mainly left because even on the lowest settings I had the worst experience of my life, FPS in the 20s with drops in the 10s was damn near unplayable, and my rig has been playing graphics intensive games on high settings pretty flawlessly. Though after a few driver updates and what appears to be some patching on BW's end, my game is now playing in the 50-100's FPS with Shadows low but everything else high, I can live with this, want to see what 1.4 does with the shadows to see if they improve the performance any more and maybe bum it up to high, if I can stay in the 40's- 60's the whole way through, it may have taken 10 months to do it, but now we've got a playable game, too bad the community moved on rather quickly. Had such high hopes for this game too
  5. Yeah, not pleased with the direction they went with HK-47, he could have been an entire story to himself in the relatively untamed Old Republic, I mean look what they did with Revan, quite possibly the most recognizable name of the Old Republic, and they have him imprisoned by the Sith for 300 years... Wow... These people sure know how to use their characters. Let's not forget what they did to the Exile for that matter...I've seen better character write offs in wrestling.
  6. It has only been mentioned once and I am shocked, but Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi....I'm SHOCKED and APPALLED by all of you... Well not really, it was a very obscure fighting game Otherwise my list contains way too many to remember, I have a fondness for Rogue Squadron, Shadows of the Empire, Empire at War, KOTOR series, Battlefront series, Jedi Knight series, wish there were more RTS Star Wars games spanning the different eras.
  7. Grey Jedi Code: Tell my wife I said "Hello" ...or was that the neutral jedi...
  8. SWG at least had better space combat, and crafting, and a better faction system, and (during its height) felt more like a living world (or galaxy as it may be), Bounty Hunters actually can take bounties, Teras Kasi, world pvp that worked. I do like TOR, but it just feels empty, there's too much missing.
  9. Easy...Fett was beat by a blind man with a stick HK-47 has a droid army, and kills meatbags for fun. Do the math And no, I didn't read the books about Fett, I don't like Bobba Fett, I like the Mandalorians, but I dislike the Fetts, should've stayed dead in the sarlac, would've fit nicely with the Mandalorian history of being used as a means to an end and then suffering a devastating defeat.
  10. Compared to Diablo 3, this place is more like Corellia
  11. Don't leave the fleet, it's not safe out there...there's a war going on, remember?
  12. If we can get a healthy mix of Allistair and Atton in a single companion, I will marry it and devote my online life to giving it lots of gifts and sacrifices
  13. The reason for the unscheduled maintenance is because this is an MMO, and that's just what happens... It's not as if they take the servers down for a couple hours to give it a smoke break
