Why the fixation on dps bra? If your assassinate proc is up and your Demolish proc will you continue lol lacerate spam or use them on one target?

Spamming lacerate on a bunch of reds ramps up your dps? Revelations abound. Guys I get the DPS obsession, I do really. Do what you need to do. However presented with these 2 options in a warzone: 1. Presented with a blob of reds. CT/Discharge/DF/lacerate spam ---> CT/Discharge/DF/lacerate spam, have orgas*. 2. Same 3 people, pick one, CT/Discharge/DFDem/Assassinate/Thrash etc kill one. Please pick number 2. I saw an assassin once do a million + damage in a wz, he was very proud. 2 KB's. Another Assassin, less proud of his 700k damage, 17kb's. I await posts on how a million dps is awesome pressure on healers.

Guys The QQ on this has reached EPIC levels of joy. At work I read these threads for amusement and it quite genuinely makes my day A few points 1) They are NOT overpowered - but it depends on your point of view. Let me explain have a recently dinged 55 marauder and plenty of ops since 2.6 opening on me. If my def Cd's are up I can get away. Even if they are not they do not burn you to zero HP from full. I personally don't try to turn the fight back on the operative because they will have taken some health off.and have an advantage at this point. With an almost continuous flow of lacerate/sucker punch on tap for a while I may well die. My advice catch them later in a crowd where it is well documented how easily they die or let them sneak around alone. I also have a 55 Operative recently switched to dps and am having a blast. BUT IT IS ONLY THE BADS YOU CAN ABUSE. Nearly every classes best players can handle you opening on them. Where I think we shine now is killing people in mid fight on half health, bursting down with assist dps or as assist dps in pvp. To summarise the new burst is great, but if you can't handle it it is because you are not very good. You also will never realise this and never accept this. So I move on to point 2. 2) Guys who can play and know about balance! THERE IS NO POINT EXPLAINING HOW OPS ARE BALANCED ON FORUMS. You voices are dominated by and outnumbered by ALL THE BADS for whom being raped by ops is a genuinely depression inducing real life frustration. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF THESE fragile little subscribers. BIOWARE WILL NOT CARE IF OPS ARE BALANCED. THESE THOUSAND BADS MUST BE KEPT HAPPY. THAT IS ALL THAT IS IMPORTANT. I would at this point usually say you may as well log off and play and not bother. BUt actually the samll voice of reason is an important voice and keeps the nerfbat from being a nerf nuclear bomb. 3) Opinion is divided on the hidden strike change for 2.7 but i'm firmly in the I think it will be a buff (or at least not a nerf) camp. If Hidden Strike then Debilitate now does not fill the resolve bar can you not see the world of possibilities open up before you fellow ops? If not, well... Any direction Backstab is just the cherry on top.

Actually this is what I was after. Thanks for the response. Two things. 1. Where did you get the equations from? 2. It seems some more maths is needed: -Benefit from power/main stat is linear (plus main stat contributes a little crit). -Crit is a curve which tends to zero But Critting is +50% damage. Therefore unless I'm mistaken (which happens every few years or so) there is likely benefit initially in some crit s oyou get more +50% (+surge) hits. At some point adding more crit begins to be less and less useful and the opportunity cost of forgoing adding in power becomes greater. It seems to me it would be pretty hard to figure this out. AND YES CASUAL NOOBS BEFORE YOU POST WE SHOULD JUST HAVE FUN AND CRACK ON BUT I CANNOT. Maybe we should just go by feel like depr derp suggested. BUT AT LEAST GO BY KILLING BLOWS AND NOT OVERALL SPLASH WAVE YOU IMBECILIC KRAP PLAYERS
