Bioware has coded the match to award medals for defending/sitting at the node. Basic thru at least Platinum. The two available maps are not "Galactic Dogfighter" therefore sitting at a node earning what Bioware has hard coded into the match is not lazy no matter how many times you click your ruby slipper heels together and try to wish it so. Bioware has pretty much told you "Here are some team objective based maps to fly in. You can either fly what you want and ignore what's best for your team or fly what you don't want to but try to be a good team player." As you can see from the responses you've mostly gotten so far, most people don't care what's best for the current map and team and neither does Bioware. Fly what you want and upgrade the heck out of it and you'll still have the exact same problem the previous poster claims would occur if Bioware did reqs your way. New players will get crushed when it goes live so that point is irrelevant. If they did it your way the new players could be more competetive faster but then the special snowflakes will be upset. It's lose/lose so the lesser of 2 eveils is fly the ship you want, upgrade it to hunt bear, and slaughter new players when it goes live.

I've only played 8 matches, will NEVER make it to a 9th, but this space combat utterly fails when compared to how well STO does it. Even the point and click of EVE ranks slightly ahead of this in control. :

I love being able to stealth in the new arenas and totally wait out the timer causing my dead team mates to stay dead for much longer than they care to. I also get to watch the other team totally fumble around looking for me wasting their entire time trying to find me. The icing on the cake is that as soon as sudden death starts I can wave bye-bye and leave my team down a player or take the death and repeat the process making the useless match last forever. Last but not least I'm happy that there's not a single damned thing Bioware can do about it

Same on Jedi Cov. Imps continually attack our pylon and we ignore theirs completely. Everyone yells to grab the orbs and then wonders where the hell to take them when we have no pylon. BW can try and fail all they want to force people to objective PvP but if they don't want to they won't. Kids just want to deathmatch and BW is powerless to do anything about it.

And they have this illogical need for something they do in a video game to mean something other than entertainment. Newsfalsh kids, IT"S A VIDEO GAME! It doesn't mean anything. It's not even real rewards. Pixels. If a popular form of entertainment means more to you than entertaining yourself, it's time to seek therapy. I have zero sympathy for people who only PvP for welfare gear. Spend a few hours in game, got some epics, feel good about your life. OH NOES! Some one else can get the same thing I got, my life is over If your time is so damn important to you that you need to place a "value" on it when entertaining yourself, you shouldn't be wasting it on video games. Seek professional help instead.

You didn't invest anything. You're playing a game to entertain yourself. If virtual pixels mean more to you than being entertained, you really need to see a therapist. I also take it you don't PvP just to PvP? Hardcores PvP to PvP, I guess you aren't a hardcore.

You guys haven't seen patch bugs until you get one that prevents your PC from booting up ala EVE a few years ago. That said, the intern they have working on UO and it's 15 year old mess of code is doing a better job of fixing bugs in their latest patch than this team. Sounds like it's time for a promotion. Oh well, to qoute the USAF, BW will either "Live in fame or go down in flame". My money's on flame and emergency downtime Wed morning....again.

You kind of answered your question there bud and you don't even realize it. The CoD/Halo thing vs MMO PvP. Apples vs Oranges thing you know?. Most people I know who've been playing MMO PvP since UO went live are kind of of the opinion that there are too many kids who think this is just CoD/Halo with glowsticks. Anyways, you all can have your debuff when they let us queue for individual WZs or let us decline entering already in progress WZs. In addition, remove all medals. Just make it a flat amount for winning and a flat amount for losing. Nothing amuses me more than seeing some simpleton doing nothing but mindless DPSing, breaking roots/stuns, not helping with objectives, and they brag about their DPS when we are getting roasted. It's like being the thinnest kid at fat camp. You're still not getting laid son, you just got whipped. **Edit** I always solo queue or with 1 other person but I don't care about facing premades. I'm of the opinion you're either going to learn to play better when up against a premade or just whine about irrelevant video game death.

Well, keep Arena rewards the EXACT same rewards we get now, and I have no problem with it. The problem lies with people who want Arena, always want better gear for it. Most don't do it for the PvP, they do it for the gear then queue regular battlegrounds to own lesser geared players. Are most of you who want Arena OK with the same gear? Be honest.

OH! Gonna test your knowledge. In Huttball, if I'm stunned enough to have a full resolve bar, use my CC breaker and get rooted or snared, will that grey out the pass the ball button? Think carefully about if you want to answer this or not.
