  1. As a Sorcerer who recently got his field respec and has been able to play around with Backlash, I think it sorely needs its resolve gain fixed (currently gives 300 when it should give 600). The problem isn't that I can AoE stun people near myself or the teammate of my choice; for better or worse that's already the kind of thing you're supposed to learn to play around in this game. The problem is that I can do it to the same enemies four times a row instead of two, and basically run around the warzone with abandon because I'm not whitebarring anyone. Which, while incredibly fun, makes me feel kind of dirty. If Backlash had the right resolve gain, it would still be quite potent, but I'd have to use it carefully or risk whitebarring half the enemy team at the same time. And considering it's tied to a key defensive ability that I ideally want to have active at all times, "using it carefully" would probably be a lot harder than it sounds. EDIT: As for Smash/Force Sweep, I think it's fine as is. Sure, I'm dead nine times out of ten if it connects, but if I don't see it coming then that's really my fault.
  2. If I have a friend who's already taking part in the Free Trial, can I still "refer" them and get the Kurtob Alliance if they subscribe, or would they have to make a second account? In other words, can an existing trial account accept a Friends Trial invite?
  3. "Unnamed." I use the Legacy title display. That's right, I have the Unnamed Legacy.
  4. For shame, nine pages and no one's mentioned: "I was just wondering what I could do to please you!" --2V-R8 Heck, for the last April Fool's joke the devs themselves turned at least half of 2V's actual lines into romance dialogue with SCORPIO. That is one naughty droid.
  5. What do you mean "should have?" I don't know about the other planets, but Dromund Kaas already has plenty of seasons. There's the rainy season, and the... slightly-less-rainy season, and even the you-can-almost-see-the-sun-if-you-imagine-really-hard season.
  6. I'm definitely with this as far as the fact that yes, you can write an Imperial Trooper story where the main character is "heroic" and even important. Sure, anyone with a lightsaber might automatically be your CO for the better part of your career and therefore view you as glorified cannon fodder, but that doesn't mean there isn't a set of ranks through which to rise and eventually reach a position in which you have real clout and power over anyone whose name doesn't start with "Darth." In fact, I would say that "Captain of the Imperial Guard" is the logical end-point for an Imp trooper story, in which case you answer directly to the Emperor. The real question is, is there anything in the above story that isn't more than adequately covered by an existing class? Not really. You want a war story where you blast your way across the galaxy, earning accolades along the way? Play a (Republic) Trooper. You want to see the Empire from a non-Sith point of view and deal with the realities of its hierarchy? Play an Agent. You want to start as a nobody who gets treated like dirt by everyone he meets but eventually rises to a position of real power? Play an Inquisitor. TL;DR version: Yes, you can write a good Imperial Trooper story. Problem is, it would be an incredibly redundant story.
  7. I definitely do not see any new base classes coming down the line for multiple years at least. A new pair of base classes (because if they give one faction a new class they have to give the other faction one too) means two entirely new class stories, which in turn means adding new phases to every planet, among other additions that equate to a large increase in the overall size and scope of the game and a tremendous additional workload for BioWare. Not to mention that all of that additional content would need to be tested for bugs. New advanced classes, rather, are where I see it going from here. Most of the suggestions on this thread seem to be focused on having certain gameplay styles anyways, something that can be achieved by adding new ACs to existing base classes. Still a rather large amount of potential work (since all four mirrored class pairs would need to get their new ACs at roughly the same time to maintain parity), but much less so then creating new stories would be. Just felt that that distinction needed to be made, since as is there are two different things that the word "classes" could mean in the context of this thread.
  8. I wonder how many of these threads (including class-specific ones) there have been since the SW:TOR forums first came into being? Definitely too many to count. Not that I mind, because every new one gives me another chance to post this: That is EVERY Sith Inquisitor's theme song, they just don't know it yet. EDIT 7/5/12: Just checked my own link, got "Video removed by user." Replaced with working link.
  9. Of course, the absolute most annoying line for Inquisitors in the entire game is not said by the player character, but by a companion: "That's quite nice."
  10. Have you considered implementing a Target of Target Modifier key, similar to the existing Focus Target Modifier and Self Target Modifier keys? I was suprised to not see such a feature added in 1.2 togethet with the target-of-target pane itself.
  11. If I hear the words "That's quite nice" ONE more time... *sigh*
  12. Being a guy definitely made the end of Chapter 1 about twice as awkward. On the other hand: Rylee Dray. 'Nuff said.
  13. Same thing with "I suppose I can lower myself to do this" and the slightly less common "Just doing my good deed for the decade" on the Inquisitor. Apparently my story has stretched on for about six decades now.
  14. Well that bites. Her non-romance character arc is still interesting enough so far if I'm really stuck with it, but my wallet is most definitely crying (un-romanced Ashara is the worst gift-taker in the game).
