  1. I'm not saying it will take that long. Most who have been raiding even semi-seriously since TfB came out, probably already have close to a full set of Dread Guard. The question is do TfB/EWH purple mods: 1. Get upgraded by Makeb's new tier of TfB's/Elite purple mods? -or- 2. Get upgraded by common greens at player level 55?
  2. We need to know pretty quickly what is going to happen to existing gear in the new expansion. Will it become useless and replaced by common gear, similar to other MMO expansions, or will it simply add a new tier of gear and the 5 levels just provide increased stats? As far as we know, we're looking at: - 4 more months of Terror from Beyond being the 'top level/newest' raid content (I do not count NM EC). - 4 months of Elite Warhero grinding It is going to feel like we are spinning our wheels like crazy if in 4 months, everything becomes useless. I know this is how it works it other MMOs, but we're also talking about expansions that are larger and spaced much farther apart.
  3. When respec'ing, is there an option to leave unusable abilities in the quickbar slot they were previously? (Perhaps just grey them out). Every time I respec I have to reorder all my abilities or pull them each from the abilities menu...
  4. Isn't the Ops Dummy going to skew the numbers in favor of DF/Sab Hybrid over Pure DF, given that the Ops dummy never drops below 30% health to get the +15% bleed damage pure DF does? Also, without Nice Try using Sab/DF hybrid, you run the risk of clipping the 2nd Wounding Shot and having a DPS loss. This is controllable on the dummy obviously with only the rotation to worry about, but would seem to be more prevalent in real world boss fights due to movement and other mechanics requiring more flexibility.
  5. All, I haven't had the chance to review the new TFB op yet, so I was hoping to get some feedback for those who have run it in Heroic mode. What percentage of the boss fights would benefit the most from Single-Target focused DPS specs? What percentage of the boss fights would benefit the most from AOE-focused DPS specs? Burst vs. Sustained DPS? Trying to get an idea since it will determine how I spec as a Gunslinger...
  6. I love Engineer/Sab when it comes to PVP, and i'm really trying to make it work in PVE. It's encouraging to see numbers at least close to MM/lethality even though I agree that lethality is the top min/max, most likely due to its ridiculously easy rotation. I also would love to see a sustained PVE rotation for engineer. I think the complexity of it holds it back....
  7. Yeah its a tough call -it would be interesting to discuss the optional skills in an Engineer PVP Build to sort of see what is working for people... In my opinion these include: Calculated Pursuit - I find it helps as a finisher if my IP -> PP -> EP -> SoS doesn't finish off an opponent and they are left with little health Energy Overrides - Only really need if energy is really a problem and probably better spent on Energy Tanks for the static extra 10 energy. Energy Tanks - Probably worth it for the higher regen rate after our main burst Vital Regulators - I've not used it yet - Is the extra 6% really worth it? (or 12% if you back-to-back use with EMP). With an 18000 health pool, thats about a 1k heal per use...doesn't seem like very much to lose it in one GCD...thoughts? Vitality Serum - Like regulators, seems like a minor buff although haven't used it either. Does it scale similar to regulators. About 1k health pool bonus or less? Heavy Shot - May be worth it for the knockback if you are faced with a lot of melee. Experiences? Imperial Demarcation - Anyone find the reduced legshot cooldown makes a big difference? Lethality - Nice to have that 3% crit, but potentially worth sacrificing if the above are all needed... Engineering/Saboteur has so much potential from what i've experienced thus far. With that i'm not interested in pushing a spec, but keeping this thread as an open forum to discuss pros/cons of the 'optional' talents and even nail down what those might be...
  8. Any thoughts about spec'ing into Calculated Pursuit? I find it nice as filler when i'm on the move, energy starved, and i'm waiting for EP to come back around. However, i've also heard that rifleshot is not much different as your free damage ability. Thoughts?

Two changes that would solve most of the 3D rendering issues in this game: - Add a 3D mouse cursor - Render Nameplates at the proper depth I know 3D isn't a priority in the overall scheme of things, but just noting these two suggestions since it is a short list that will solve 95% of the problems with 3D support.

There have been a number of discussions on this forum regarding the advantages/disadvantages of all 3 specs when it comes to PVP, but i'm curious of player's experiences when it comes to PVE for non-marksman specs. In particular, i'm wondering how Snipers fare in Heroic FPs/Operations. I know Marksman and its variations do well, but does anyone have opinions from their experiences using: - Full Engineer - Full Lethality - Eng/Leth Hybrid Do they hold up to MM on boss fights in EV/KP or are you gimping yourself not sticking with MM? I know this is hard to gauge until we get logs/dummies to theorycraft further, but might as well discuss opinions/general experiences of how they fare for those who have tried to switch it up.

  14. My question: Is Bioware planning to implement any sort of system to resolve world PVP imbalance in terms of numbers of players? Something in terms of health bonuses to republic if they are outnumbered 3 to 1?
  15. I've become a big fan of this build. I've tried out both a SS and a DF build before this one and played both pretty heavily- and actually really enjoyed both for what they provided. However, I found the SS build offered great single target burst, but lacked AOE, overall damage pressure and utility. The DF build offered great numbers and pressure, but I had big issues with single target focusing without being energy starved constantly. This 31pt sab build seems to offer above average AOE, utility, and single target burst. I also agree that incendiary grenade is great once you get used to it- its real cheap to use and its fantastic to use on a map like voidstar in conjunction with freighter flyby for some huge area denial... Had a question for you stealth... In light of the 1.1.3 surge nerf, what stat changes for gear do you recommend with this build? Have you looked at power heavy gear, or still stick with max crit,surge? Thanks StealthNerf for the guide and build...
