  1. Or you could put your big boy/girl undies on, grow up and find something else to do while they fix the problem when the server goes down. You could even go... OUTSIDE! I know it's a scary concept, but you should try it. The sunshine will do you the world of good. But honestly, it's an MMO (even if BW likes to pretend it isn't) and these things are guaranteed to happen from time to time. So instead of throwing a tantrum like an entitled five year old next time it happens, you could try and do something constructive with your time.
  2. What I think he meant is threads like people demanding a character purge to free up name options simply so they don't have to be forced to use their imagination and think of something else instead. Just because someone beat these people to a name they wanted but haven't played said character in who knows how long doesn't give them a right to demand BW to purge dormant toons, and deserve to be called out on their selfishness. At least that's the vibe I got from it.
  3. I don't know if it's been mentioned yet (and I'm not trawling through 60 odd posts to check), but I'd love to see the Thana Vesh set on sale. Surely I can't be the only one to find it tricky to find nice warrior armour that doesn't have a full cape or ridiculous bits and pieces stuck randomly on it that ruin what could be a potentially good look without them.
  4. I know he's not an LI in the traditional sense, but I really would have liked to have seen more interaction between Jonas Bulkar and my trooper. Jorgan hadn't really appealed to me that much, so I always found it amusing when he'd disapprove/get jealous of the harmless flirting that unfortunately led absolutely nowhere. Besides, guy troopers got to knock boots with Jaxo, so it only would have been fair to have a little fling with the smart arse spy for the ladies. Oh well, at least there's always head canon...
  5. Going by that sort of logic, every character in Mass Effect 1 and 2 that could be potentially bumped off in some form or fashion shouldn't have had any content in 3. But they did, because there's also the chance for them to still be alive, just like there is for Jorgan and Kaliyo. Just because a companion can be killed off, doesn't automatically mean they will be killed off (not all of us play like dark side lunatics that want to murder everyone for the smallest perceived transgression). For those with a surviving Kalyio and/or Jorgan, especially if they were romanced by players of the relevant classes, it would have been nice to have them involved somewhere in the story as more than just irrelevant background characters that anyone from the ridiculously large stable of collect-and-forget companions we've acquired over KOTFE could have filled.
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. I can only imagine how ripped off the agents and troopers feel about having next to no screen time, let alone playtime, with them as the active companion. I know that may seem like a small issue to some, but small things have a tendency to add up. It honestly just reinforces the idea to me that in comparison to last years part of the expansion, Fallen Empire was a bit of a rush job in terms pacing.
  7. While I agree with you about the 'writer's pet' observation, I have to admit that I found it odd that any toon outside of the Warrior had that option to ask specifically about Vette's welfare instead of their own potential LI. It's not like we got to spend a lot of time with her specifically between chapter 14 and Iokath, and she hadn't really done anything significant up to that point either. My guess is they were cutting corners where they thought they could get away with it, and that's what we were left with.
  8. I found it more enjoyable than a good portion of kotfe's story, however it did feel a little rushed overall seeing as it only has half the chapters (and it doesn't look like we're getting any more), like they just wanted to get it over and done with. Despite the striking similarities to Ilos, I probably enjoyed Iokath the most. A little more exploration before the confrontation with the AI would have been nice though. Having all the comps conveniently in one spot instead of finding a few on our own was kind of anti-climatic. The biggest nitpick I have would be the Virmire choice in chapter 8. While as refreshingly different as far as BWA storytelling goes, it also felt more than a little pointless the more I thought about it. Hunters and warriors (for the most part) would naturally gravitate to their vanilla companion over the other, and the rest of the classes haven't had that much interaction with either choice outside of the respective chapters that introduced them to care either way. If both had been sent to secure an objective on the battlefield that would have somehow impacted the story later on, then it would have been worth while. As it stands now, it's killing one off just for the hell of it.
  9. Want some cheese to go with that whine?
  10. Besides, while I can't speak for other agents, the idea of the playful 'spy vs spy' headcanon game with Theron is just too much fun to give up for anybody.
  11. And similar Dragon Age, and KOTOR, and whatever RPG Bioware released before that... It's pretty obvious by now that BW like a certain type of formula to their games using favoured tropes. Where have you been for the past 15 or so years?
  12. I'd be up for that. Prime example I can think of would be Quinn. As much as I forgave him for his actions in the Warrior's story, I know there are plenty out there chomping at the bit to put him down, and that's ok as it would fit in with their DS play style, so I'm all up for them finally getting that chance. I like how this particular choice worked in the story though. Simple fact is in a big battle you won't be able to save everyone, so I'm glad they put in a little dilemma like that (even a little surprised tbh, we all know how some people like to get outraged with every decision BWA makes, whether said outrage is warranted or not). I'm not sure if we'll get to make a similar decision in the future though, as where they can take the story now with the endings we have? It'll be interesting to see where they go from here at any rate.
  13. I personally found it refreshing. It's a choice that actually has some form of consequence for a change, a'la permanently losing a companion, not unlike choosing between Ashley and Kaiden in Mass Effect. If we could save all the people all the time the story would become incredibly dull, and there's nothing more boring in a story than the perfect Mary/Marty Sue who saves the day every single time without any repercussions.
  14. I always imagine npc's with some sort of obsessive compunction to have a closet full of the same outfit. I could see Theron's now; row of red jackets hanging in a neat line, pants all folded so each stripe lines up with each other... you get the idea.
