  2. Whole heartedly agree! Not only should classes be able to use a wider variety of weapons, but the actual variety of weapons should be bigger as well.
  3. OP wants what we all want! Better pop on the serevers right now! >.< More players are unsubing everyday, who knows how many will come back. Best way to retain them is to GET WHAT THE OP DESCRIBED OUT NOW! Dont wait, dont hesitate, GET IT DONE NOW! Or this game will end up f2p and will basically all be downhill from there.
  4. Noted, I'll do some further research. As for SWTOR's dev team, well, that's what the whole purpose of this thread. Maybe they didnt focus on PvP as much as they should have, and maybe this is a problem the team just simply wasnt expecting (although it would be sad if they were not), but "maybe" won't put the dev team on the right path. Hopefully, this thread will.

I am only using the experiences that I have, and the generalization that WoW, being one of the biggest and longest lasting MMO's of its kind, did something correct in terms of PvP, hence the success. But alas, I'll admit to not being as knowledgable as some when it comes to the history of MMO PvP. However, if you would provide some input on what you think was a big game changer and maybe some of the concepts involved, then I think we could really get this thread headed in the right direction.

  7. Not 1v1, thats pure. I wouldnt 1v1 with npc's, no point. But maybe 1v1 around fall hazards, now you have to worry about your opponent, and your step. But this post was more so for WZ's. Now if your talking about 1v1 with in WZ's well... honestly how often does that happen? Theres always another player to step in at somepoint. And im sure with npc's around 1v1's can still exist in WZ's, although rarely. So maybe what you want is arena style pvp? 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, etc?
  8. Yo, listen up and pay attention! This involves you... so tell me, what do you want? This is not a thread about what class is OP or who needs to be nerfed/buffed. This is about what direction SWTOR is taking PVP to in the future of gaming. Since the launch of MMO's, PVP has evolved and adpated. The most notable of the game changers, as you all may agree with, was WoW (imo). For all you WoW heads you probably remember AV pretty well. It was [a notable*] (*edited for historical accuracy) attempt at a PVPVE type combat in which each team would fight to eliminate the opposing factions leader. This was fun but always seemed to be lacking that extra bit of intensity that I was looking for, maybe some of you feel the same. In the end it still felt like PVE becuase both teams would be at the complete opposite ends of the map towards the closing of the battle, trying to bring down an NPC "boss", more or less. So here's where EPVP comes into play. Environmental PVP, what I want is more situations where not only am I contentending with opposing players, but simultaneously the environment as well. Now a couple of maps in SWTOR already touch on this idea, but only touch. Huttball has its fire and acid pits, and the Voidstar has a fall hazard. How about some real danger? Who didnt like the epic battles witnessed in every SW movie? Notice how that little extra bit of danger always existed aside from the Sith weilding a lightsaber? Fall hazards GALORE! Cloud City, Luke vs. Vader; Qui-Gon + Obi-Wan vs. Maul in PM (chopped in half and fell down a friggen hole!), the Sarlacc in RotJ! Or how about leaping from one mining platform to another whilst hovering over a river of lava? You see where Im going with this? I want more danger, I want to play on a map where one wrong step and game over. If I walk through a shield door at the wrong moment, BAM, half of me on one side and half on the other (maybe not graphically, but you know what I mean). Or a Sarlacc that tries to pull you in unless you blast/slice its tentacle off. Give me and infinite army of droids and troopers that fight side by side with players, maybe some padawans and acolytes, only to even the tides a little. How about a random event happening? Im on my way up to the command deck and then ZOMG a starship crashes through the hull of the ship and I get sucked out into space along with my opponent, cutting off access to that area for the remainder of the match! Now, what I want from you is simple. What do you want? Post it.
  9. Why do you even bother with Armstech as a profession? I went out on a limb when I chose it, yes, not exactly planned, but I didnt believe that a worthless profession would actually exist. "What can I do with Armstech? Well, create barrel mods for... oh wait no, no one wants them cuz all the pvp gear and pve gear comes with its own mods and the crafted mods are worse than virtually every lvl 50 mod. Weapons... no everyone buys thos with coms... oh wait yes Augments, nice. Lots of people use those... let me just make some... OH ***?! To make augments I need slicing mats?! THEN WHY WAS INVESTIGATION PART OF ARMSTECH?! Thanks now I have a worthless gathering profession... Change the mats for Augments to Investigation mats. Not slicing... ***?
  10. Dear BW, If you increase the DPS burst you need to also increase the damage reduction cd's of the pvp tanks. Pre 1.2 my cd's actually provided some kind of survivability during combat, but thanks to your dps increases to everyone, my defensive cd's dont do ****! What used to be a stop damage for the duration of my shield, combined with my def. relic, and self HOT, now is worthless. Please fix this or you will see less pvp tanks and turn this back into a dps fest w/ no tactics. I suggest that you 1) increase defensive abilities damage reduction and/or 2) reduce the cd time for defensive abilities. You could nerf dps, but why redo 1.2?

  13. This proposal is a TEMPORARY FIX. If you dont like your server pop. then leave it. If you do like it, then obviously stay. I know some of you have really put alot of time into your characters already and it no, it is not fair. But until they get out the character transfer, this solution will work. All I see is complaint, complaint, complaint. ^^^^ There is your alternative option. You want to fix the game right now? Then reroll. Thats how its done. Seriously.
  14. Thank you sir, I forgot to mention this. Not only are do I request that the players from the specified "to move" servers actually move, but plaese SPAM the crap out of which server you are to move to. This will help the poulation flow as not all players read the forums.
