  1. If anyone knows where I can find a full list of the current people working on TOR, and those who have left, I'd appreciate it. Can anyone send me a link? Can't find it on google...
  2. Bioware, I would request that with the addition of these /cheery, etc mood adjusters, could you finally add the ability for the engine to load characters in their current *stance*? I.e., if a player that hasn't loaded yours yet does whilst yours is sitting, could you allow that player to actually see that player as standing as he loads? Otherwise, with all of these mood emotes, you could permanently see your character as /cheery when all the new players that load into your area would see you as normal, not /cheery. It would make us have to constantly type /cheery over and again, etc. I believe WoW and other MMO's have done this that are far older. Can TOR do this now as well, please?
  3. Some predictificationizationing: 12/20/2011 - game was released < ~ 1 month> 1/18/2012 - 1.1 < ~3 months> 4/12/2012 - 1.2 : Content patch < ~2.5 months > 6/26/2012 - 1.3 < ~over 2 months> 9/3/2012 - current date Alright, so given that apparently the now skeleton-crew sized team behind this game has no choice but to deal largely with F2P stuff as well as 1.4, probably means we won't see substantial updates until...October/November right? I'm guessing nothing else after that until February/March? Will the frequency of updates to come maintain this 1 month then 3 month model for major patches? What do you guys think?
  4. Personally this sounds like it could be awesome; I just hope you guys can pull it off well! Going free to play is something to be handled very, very, very carefully to be done right, I've learned. The real point of my posting now is to point this out however: You say we get 150 credits for past months before July 31st here: http://www.swtor.com/free Then Jeff Hickman said we get 200 credits for past months before July 31st here: http://www.swtor.com/info/news/blog/20120731 Proof/quote from the above link: "Current and lapsed subscribers will earn 200 Cartel Coins for every paid month prior to today (July 31, 2012) and until the Free-to-Play option launches." To smooth over the ever-present change = rage forum crowd, I'd strongly suggest you go with what Jeff Hickman said and give us all 200 credits for every month prior to July 31st!
  5. Or why did the Sith want to rule the galaxy, at all? No, seriously - why? Sure you can eliminate the Jedi and reshape the galaxy as you see fit but...what if you did just that? What would these mortal men do at that point if their *every* want and desire was ultimately met? Would they simply rule and rule until they were old and grey and then suddenly realize they were fools after decades of boredom and soul degradation? Have they actually thought about it, or are they blind to thinking about it and have instead become an instinctual Force? I'm intrigued by the possibility that they HAVE thought of it... I'd like to hear them truly explain it, beyond the opening line "To show the galaxy the power of the Sith" yada yada. Clearly for the effort they'd put more thought into that. I'd consider this a sort of niche kind of goal for villains. I get villains that want to destroy or consume everything. They may constantly hunger, or see life as some sort of imperfect stain on the perfect face of nature. I can see that they might know that nature itself has no morals and in their despair, realize they may as well slaughter instead of build. I also understand the villains that genuinely CARE about people, and think they can do a better job ruling them (usually misguided). I think Dr. Doom might be one of these types, from what I read, as an example. But Emperor Palpatine? He's a perfect example, I believe (you guys may prove me wrong). He didn't care about his people. And he essentially did rule...and in the movies was about to end the last pocket of resistance. What if he did, and everything had calmed down for ages and ages and ages? What if he ended up living forever, as the Emperor, which definitely seems to have been for its own sake of ruling... But what sort of terrible boredom he would have to suffer! Once all the laws are enacted, people beat down, and everything was made hunky dory... Would he just say 'Good job self. I guess I may as well let myself die.' Or perhaps he has a power trip that isn't just satisfied by reaching the throne, but by REMAINING on it, for centuries? However, I don't believe any human possesses that difference in character. I think the desire for all of us lies in those first few years of rule - as long as it would take to reshape the world as one sees fit, assuming it all went (really, really) great. Finish your work and move on, to whatever that may be. In any case, this kind of goal is not one of enlightenment or understanding. So is it for a Utopia? It seems incredibly doubtful, in the case of Emperor Palpatine. Is it a power trip for someone that simply gets off on the idea continuously far more (and for far longer) than anyone ever would? Or is it because they have nothing better to do and wanted to test themselves, and then to continually test themselves, for centuries, whilst also getting over the memory of bigger kids bullying them when they were little?
  6. I've wanted to ask this for some time! The Mandalorian Blockade music that plays at the main menu is not the same version that used to play earlier on in the beta! I've always loved the older version for its crescendo and overall more powerful build than the current version plays (it used to almost bring me to tears it was so perfect). Would whoever is responsible for changing the music of the game be able to shine some light on this, and perhaps post the old (original?) version of The Mandalorian Blockade on Youtube or elsewhere?
  7. I don't think they've let the winner know who it is yet. It could be you! ...but really it's probably me. EDIT: Wait, Mark? ...you mean it's not me?!
  8. Thanks for the tips all! @ the guy that talked about Black Hole Commendations stuff - I love the tip but how do you get those Black Hole Commendations? Otherwise, you guys weren't kidding that artifact selling stuff is intense! is it primarily artifact fragments, with power crystals as a close second as far as overall worth on the GTN goes for me then? (and as a bonus question - do epic enhancements really sell much more than the mats would?)
  9. About when can we expect to hear some official announcements about the bigger 1.3 features? WIll it be days, or more like weeks? ....months?
  10. ....wow. I don't use them but that's working as intended...? /signed. Loudly.
  11. My suggestion is to take another page out of WoW, but with an incredible twist. That is, I suggest taking a page from their own 'battleground duel' system, in which one party can challenge another party to a private pvp battleground instance, for fun. However, my idea would make it far more accessible, enabling casual group conflicts on the same faction in the open world, and ultimately far more fun. To the details - I am suggesting something I call 'Group Duels', something I've never seen before in an MMO like this. What I am suggesting is a way to get parties of 4v4 to duel eachother anywhere in the world in which duels are allowed. Or, if Bioware is willing - Operation group vs. Operation group! This would allow conflicts within guilds or small parties to engage in more meaningful duel battles (i.e. not just 1-1 which do not greatly serve to help one's ability to play in Warzones) that could either: a) Help a group to practice combat situations for Warzones b) Help guilds to foster interaction and conflict c) Allow more interesting things to happen in the 'open world' for passerby, i.e. cover using classes being able to use the open world for cover whilst fighting other players, using the terrain to your advantage, getting the drop on your enemy, etc. d) Open up countless new opportunities for roleplay If this could be coded and programmed into the game, the interface to the user would work as follows: The group leader of a party or operation is able to select the group leader of another party or operation, right click their portrait, and in addition to seeing the 'Duel' option to fight their singular character, their would be another option labeled "Initiate Group Duel". At this point, the two parties would receive a countdown, and then they would be hostile to eachother for the remainder of the duel. All individuals would be able to /surrender at will. All of this is exactly like a regular duel, only with groups. I would recommend - to augment this system - the group duel range (both for initiation AND for combat radius) should be greatly increased (note: I'm not suggesting increasing the regular dueling range). In fact, it would make sense that whilst a member is in the group that is engaged in a group duel remains in that entire instance, i.e., even the entire planet (if that is where the duel was initiated) should not need to be forced out of the duel for this kind of casual, open conflict. Yes, I am implying the potential for 16 vs 16 player conflicts across any given planet at any given time. [Players can always outline their own boundaries and kick groupmates that leave them, themselves!] Personally, I see no downside to this system. If this takes place around mobs on a planet, then it would be just like any given open world pvp conflict, except entirely consensual, and could not end in death unless killed by a mob, just like regular duels. Thank you for reading - I hope this is something Bioware considers putting on their to do list some day soon!
  12. I'm new to the level 400 arena, and I am a bit at a loss as to how to make good credits with my current professions, which at the moment I'm unwilling to change. Those are Artifice, Archaeology, and Treasure Hunting (all of which are 400, to be clear). Like all of us do now with 1.2 (especially for one who has hit lvl 50 right after it launched), I have an obvious need to make credits all of a sudden! Plus I've never paid much attention to any MMO economy before. Does anyone have any suggestions for what someone with my set of professions should do, make, or maybe even farm for sake of being able to turn a decent profit in the current state of the game?
  13. No one knows of anything else besides the Legacy page then, I take it? .... Come on, Bioware...if you're reading this we'd love to hear some new stuff, this upcoming Friday...
