  1. Bioware (or whoever) needs to be prosecuting those that are violating the Digital Millenium Act by using hacked clients. Many MMOs have done mass bans. Something similar could be done. Without some form of punishment, many people learn that cheating is "ok." If they have played the game a lot and don't care if they have to find another, banning is useless. The amount of it going on has gotten large, and I regularly see cheating in PvP matches or hear a description of something that can only be explained by a hack. There appears to be no disincentive to cheat any more. I've mostly stopped PvPing because PvP is so broken in general, but it is addictive and the warzones are good--I would like to play more. What must be done is to separate players by skill. There is no other long-term solution. It would even address the advantages given by cheating to some degree. I wish Bioware would tell me if they are or aren't working on dividing players by skill. An algorithm akin to what is used for chess rating would "self-correct" players that try to abuse the rating system. Bioware, remember you are charging people money to play PvP. You've stated your position on matters in the ToS agreement. Did you really mean it? Does it have any legal force? Or can someone ignore it and do as they please without any reaction from you?
  2. How can I find out what the formula is that is used to calculate Force/Tech Power from the Armor/Hilt mod attributes? It does not appear to be dependent on just a single attribute.
  3. Where can I find information about how much of each attack type are used by abilities? For example--using made up numbers--perhaps 30% of Force stats (which include a bonus for Force Power) and 70% of Melee stats (which do not) are used when a Jedi Knight uses Strike, but 100% of Force stats are used when he uses Force Push. Knowing this kind of info would help me decide which items to wear.

    Lytira# yarst -???

Rooted or immobilized doesn't gray out all my abilities but one. It is possible that I only got stunned one time with a full resolve bar, while the first stun was what maxed it, however in those cases, I am unable to act for >4 seconds. A snapshot won't prove anything. All it would show is a full resolve bar and my abilities grayed out. By the way, a couple of you: try being polite instead of elitist. No one like elitism, even other elitists. Holier than thou; I'm right and you are absolutely wrong and so forth only demonstrates you have a narrow understanding of yourself. You sure wouldn't want to be treated the way you treat others--being ridiculed and demeaned you when you don't understand something or make a mistake.

    Lytira# yarst -???

I have gotten stunned twice in a row with a full resolve bar a number of times. There are obviously some sort of stuns that ignore resolve. I don't know if "stuns" is the right word, but the only ability that would work is my release-from-being-stunned ability (which of course is on cooldown).

    Lytira# yarst -???

(yet another resolve system thread) Sorry to revisit this issue. I get chain stunned with a full resolve bar right now. Is the current resolve system the way BW intended it to be, or is it something they acknowledge needs work? I just want to know what my hope should be of changes to it.
  7. Perhaps it will help you to decide to know that I just spent 600k on 6 stacks of Medpacs. It's going to take me a while to work through those, but I would recommend you at least save a few stacks for yourself--unless you have a good use for the credits now. (It's easier to make the credits back at higher level.)

    Stratified

I guess no response answers my question. If it isn't obvious that this needs to be done, then I guess BW is making it clear they only want hardcores to play PvP, and definitely do not care to make PvP an enjoyable--no, tolerable--experience for casual PvPers. Such people need to look for another game to PvP in. As it is, PvP is literally traumatic for new players--and piss off the hardcore players by their mere presence.

    Stratified

What's the progress on making PvP stratified by skill?
  10. Personally, I just can't think of any good reason, which is why I asked the question. The PvP Comms-related designers probably had a reason, but I guess it is a secret. The bigger problem is that the way PvP is designed right now is so painful for beginners that they quit or aren't even willing to try. Not having a way to improve your power sub-50 makes it even worse. Some players consider sub-50 PvP a joke. The obvious solution would be to have sub-50 equipment with Expertise on it, although there are other ways to address it, too. It's an impossible problem to try to have both tiered PvP and enough people in each tier. The idea of elevating everyone to lev 49 is good, but can't really be made to work. The point of having levels is so that one end of the spectrum is a lot more powerful than the other end.
  11. Anyone know why the caps for Warzone and Ranked Warzone commendations are so low? With capped RWZ comms I can buy 2 pieces of armor. With capped Black Hole commendations, I can buy 20.
  12. When I use the Group Finder, going for the daily Black Hole commendations (all selected), I get The Esseles about 50% of the time. Why is this? I always crash, usually multiple times, trying to complete the final conversation with Haken, so I would like to avoid it, if possible. (Yes, my drivers are up-to-date.)

    What is Ranked?

Oops, this is incorrect. But the point I'm trying to make is the same. How much time it takes to get the piece is what I don't like. How I or they achieve it doesn't matter to me.

    What is Ranked?

Why? (People who can earn ranked WZ comms have to pay 3,200 for a chestpiece. I have to pay 9,600. The latter takes me about 3x as long as it does the others. Seems like a cost difference to me.)

    What is Ranked?

Ranked gear doesn't cost the same for people who play ranked matches vs. those that don't. It's a huge difference. I'm talking about getting Elite War Hero or War Hero now (pre 1.6), and Elite War Hero after the 1.6 update. Right now I only get ranked comms from completing the dailies and the weekly. However, since the difference after 1.6 will be small (I think) between WH and EWH, I will be able to get upgrade from BM to WH and I will be happy. Getting the Elite WH, however, will have the same problem as I am having now for WH. I guess, boiled down, I do not understand what the logic is behind PvP guild players getting better equipment more easily. It's different for raiding guilds, because the missions (ops) are actually much harder and should drop better equipment. For PvP, it may simply be a game design choice, without fairness issues resolved. If I play 8 hours a day, it's still going to take me 2-3 weeks to get a new piece, but it would only take PvP guild players one day (or whatever).
