  1. Thanks for the response, it does tell me what I need to know.
  2. Hi all, So I had started KOTET some time back whilst it was coming out, up to I believe episode IX. I can't remember why, I never finished that, but I recently came back to SWTOR. I think perhaps one of my absolute favourite classes is the Sith Warrior, I redid the entire story from the beginning to the end. I think it isn't just because of the story, I also love the voice actress for this character. A lot of voices have been well cast, but I do like how the Sith Warrior carries herself. So I really liked KOFTE/KOTET because it felt very personal, given that the Sith Warrior is the Emperor's Wrath. I can see however how the story might not work as a non-force user. I understand that a lot of people wanted to go back to the roots of Star Wars and return to the struggles of the two factions, but honestly I really liked KOFTE/KOTET. On Iokah my character was enthusiastically wanting to kill Republic soldiers sometimes, which does not reflect where my character was at. But with Acina giving support during KOFTE, the Empire was the more logical choice, in a setting that didn't give you a third option. I am on Ossus... killing bugs again. But these are actions that I feel someone else in the Alliance could do, I don't buy the whole "it has to be me." If I had an Imperial Agent or a Bounty Hunter/Trooper who I could play as part of the Alliance, they would do this instead. So I had this idea that... well maybe I can play those classes and have them skip KOFTE/KOTET and do these other things instead of my Sith Warrior. It would be a cool way to experience the stories that BioWare wrote, whilst also seeing them from a different viewpoint, without ruining the good bits (like I can't see how a Scoundrel can possibly beat Arcann or the Emperor, so that could ruin KOFTE for example). But will my Sith Warrior be missing out on gearing or Flashpoints that will only be unlocked with the story on Ossus? Thank you.
  3. I guess this is a really old topic, but for the sake of not creating another one saying the same thing (and it's nice for people with the same question to see what others did) I will respond here. This is actually my second Trooper, rerolled the first one but I did get to the point where I could promote either Dorne or Jorgan. First time I picked Dorne. Jorgan treated me like crap when he was the senior officer and when I asked him to make his case, he just whined. I understand that there was cause for him to do that. But... when his sniper team gets captured all he has to say about them is "careless." And when Iresso mentioned him on my consular, he really couldn't stand Jorgan. So obviously he is not someone who would inspire troops. Now I am about to make that decision again. Will I pick Dorne again? She goes a bit too much by the rulebook. But, she also questions people who think they are above the law to the point where she will abandon her family and endure a lot of crap to prove her loyalty. I feel her unwavering moral compass *could* inspire troops, at least to be efficient, whereas her paperwork-happy attitude might not... But then, maybe that's something she can learn while being second in command of my Squad, under an officer who wants to get the job done but isn't necessarily following every rule from the book. She is not being asked to be the CO. Jorgan? Yes, he got demoted unjustly maybe... but I am not sure he is officer material either. I know in real life officers don't necessarily win popularity contests, but if both myself and someone else (from a in-game perspective) thought he was a pain, then maybe he needs to learn a thing or two about command before he starts preaching me as he does at the beginning.
  4. Well as the posts before you might have shown you, there are other people who find the storytelling to be really good. Yes, I can see that you might have a certain idea of what your Jedi Knight would do that is not what BioWare wants them to do. And I can see how that would be off-putting. However my Consular was actually sharing that vision that BioWare was trying to achieve with alliances, so for me the experience has been great. So I completely understand your viewpoint, but I also would appreciate it if you didn't go around telling people that they are wrong for finding they like something with statements such as, "I find it amazing that you played the content and didn't find it amazingly poor. " Your opinion is welcome up to the point you don't start bashing others'.
  5. I just came here to say I absolutely love what you guys at Bioware did with the latest story arc. It took me right back into my Mass Effect days with tension, meaningful companion relationships (and I don't mean just romance) and humour to boot. I just short-circuited C2-N2. The story telling is fantastic, the fact that I could just take my character from 1 to 65 and through all story without having to worry about anything else (although I do like flashpoints) was amazing too. The characters and the environments brim with detail graphics wise too. Really looking forward to chapter X. *FORCE AWAKENS SPOILER* If Bioware can write 10+ different story lines without involving a Death-Star-like weapon, maybe JJ Abrams needs to learn something here.
  6. This is probably an idiotic question, but can you not get a personal Stronghold for Empire and one for Republic? NVM I figured out the answer, doh.
  7. Hello, A lot of "what crew skill is better for making money?" threads are posted but I can't seem to find one that answer my somewhat specific questions (I also see a lot of pre 2.0 threads). On my Trooper I have Slicing, Scavenging and Armormech. They serve me well as myself and 2 of my companions use aim gear, while Slicing is just good all around. This is as of level 32, I don't know about companions in the future, but outfitting 3 characters atm suits me. And like I said Slicing is good for making money. On my Sith Warrior, I have noticed that I am only going to get another companion that may need Synthweaving aside from myself. So I don't really want to go Synthweaving as it's my understanding that in end game I can get good gear through other means anyway. Someone suggested I go Cybertech. Apparently mods are in demand. However on this character I think I just wanted to use gathering professions as she isn't my main so I am not going to invest a lot of time in her. So I picked Slicing, Treasure Hunting and Underworld Trading. At least at low levels, Underworld Trading is making me more money than Slicing and Treasure Hunting combined. I don't know how it compares to Slicing once past level 400, but I do know from my Trooper that Slicing is quite good past 400. Treasure Hunting leaves me in doubt and I am not sure whether I want to pick Diplomacy instead... simply because I am struggling with some of the Dark Side choices in the quests, so I often pick a Light Choice, and I keep swapping between Dark I and Neutral. I am trying to weigh Treasure Hunting VS Diplomacy so here is what I found so far: 1. The very low level medical supplies don't seem to sell 2. Treasure Hunting returns with lockboxes that net me a credit loss 3. Treasure Hunting will occasionally come up with gear boxes and they can be useful either to wear or to sell 4. Both Treasure Hunting and Diplomacy can get me Companion Gifts 5. Treasure Hunting will occasionally turn up some schematics which seem to be profitable So this begs the question: If medical supplies don't sell at least at low level, has anyone tried to sell companion gifts and found they were profitable? More so than schematics? Did anyone else find that medical supplies didn't sell at low level, but then as you reached higher level they did sell? Thanks in advance
  8. Ohh... Then I may try that one build I thought about at the start... So the top skill in the Lethality tree becomes 30m too?
  9. Thanks for the reply. I was wondering about the CC problem too. I am going to try it in PVP when I am a bit higher then. I still like the other two specs, I guess it's just a matter of having fun trying them out as I get higher with my char
  10. Found this one: http://swtorsniper.blogspot.com/2012/01/quorras-lethality-engineering-aoe.html Anyone tried it?
  11. Hello, I am levelling a Sniper and I am having a hard time choosing specs. This is not because I keep thinking "which is better?" but whatever I try I have fun with! While having fun however, I still want to keep my spec viable. I tried both MM and Engineer so far and I am loving both specs. However one concern I have, even though Engineer is more mobile, is the mobility of the class. I read that Lethality is very mobile. I have been thinking of a spec like this one. The main reason why I am not taking Weakening Blast is the range, so I thought I'd give that up for the Engineering talents. Anyone tried anything similar that could give me some feedback? EDIT.: Nevermind, Cull has 10 m range too. Back to drawing board!
