  1. That seems more like a retcon than anything else. Just one way the Expanded Universe authors tried to address the continuity errors between pre-prequel and post-prequel stories.
  2. In preparation for the Force Awakens, I've been going through all canon Star Wars media in chronological order. However, I've ran into something of a snag. The novel Dark Disciple and the Son of Dathomir comic series are both adaptations of unproduced Clone Wars episodes. I've posted information on the corresponding episodes in chronological order below, taken from StarWars.com. You notice that the Son of Dathomir takes place in between the Dark Disciple material. The novel gives no information on which chapters correspond to which episodes, making it difficult to read them in the right order. I was wondering if anyone on these forums had any information that might assist me? Dark Disciple Novel 130 Lethal Alliance 131 The Mission 132 Conspirators 133 Dark Disciple Son of Dathomir Comic Series 134 The Enemy of My Enemy 135 A Tale of Two Apprentices 136 Proxy War 137 Showdown on Dathomir Dark Disciple Novel 138 Saving Vos Part 1 139 Saving Vos Part 2 140 Traitor 141 The Path
  3. The Rebellion did form the New Republic in the new canon, sometime after the Battle of Endor, but before the Battle of Jakku. It's mentioned in the Shattered Empire comics and the novels Aftermath and Lost Stars. An upcoming novel will also be titled New Republic: Bloodline. The Resistance is not the same organization as either the Rebellion or the New Republic, although it's definitely related.
  4. I agree that the Rule of Two is impractical. It seems unlikely that a organization of just two individuals could survive for thousands of years.
  5. Stormtroopers have bad aim for plot convenience. Notice in the original movies, they almost always hit their target when it's not a main character.
  6. As was mentioned, that's all non-canon now. Naga Sadow no longer existed in the Star Wars universe, at least until someone writes him back in.
  7. Who the hell were the Sith? Before the prequels, weren't they practically unheard of? In the original trilogy you had the Jedi and the dark side, and that was it. The new movies will expand upon the Star Wars mythos by adding new things, like the Knights of Ren, and that's a good thing.
  8. I don't understand all the hate Disney is getting for retconing the Expanded Universe. It's not like things where any different under Lucas. He always borrowed elements from it when it was convenient, and disregarded what he didn't like. He even stated that the Expanded Universe was never part of his universe, so all Disney and Lucasfilm have done is make this arrangement official. Furthermore, I have no doubt that we will see many fan favorite characters reincorporated into the new canon, maybe in Rebels or something. The people at Lucasfilm know how popular some of the characters are, and many of them are fans of the material as well.
  9. I'd like to think I'd be like Obi-Wan Kenobi, but in all honesty I'd probably be some average Joe. Like the ice-cream man from Empire Strikes Back. Or worse, Jar Jar Binks.
  10. I’d like to ask veteran Star Wars fans, who remember a time before the prequels, what your perception of the Clone Wars was? While details on the Clone Wars where scarce prior to the release of Attack of the Clones, what brief mentions of it from the Expanded Universe that did exist seem to paint a very different picture than what Lucas decided to go with in the movies. Most notably the Thrawn Trilogy, which suggests that the clones were the antagonists. Other sources mention that the Clone Wars ended decades before the formation of the Empire.
  11. So, I've been thinking of starting up a guild geared towards smugglers. Obviously, I was going to rename all the guild ranks to something that invoked the smuggler theme. The problem is I can't think of anything. So I though I'd ask the forums. So what would an organization of smugglers refer to their leader, officers, and new recruits as:rak_02:
