  1. Yes this is a very well known issue , my take based on seeing this for a large number of years example from 2018 https://forums.swtor.com/topic/864511-bug-4kuhd-resolution-vertical-stretching-bug-characterscertain-gui-elements/#comment-9253702 Swtor utilises the EDID information loaded in windows from the monitor, sometimes there are errors with the edid that is stored in the monitor, usually HDMI TV are the worst for this In the post above, the 3840 x 2160, in this case it should be deleted , or manually create another higher 21:9 ratio resolution so that swtor sees that one instead (it doesn't need to be used) and reacts accordingly I am aware of several attempts over the last 10 years to reduce the occurrences of this, but given it is based on what the monitor tells the OS it is limited with the swtor engine, and is a rare occurrence based on the number of systems that do not get this issue at all
  2. You should be able to resolve this , try this initially right mouse click on the game shortcut and select properties, go to the compatibility tab and select run this program in compatibility mode for windows 8
  3. used the latest setup ? https://www.swtor.com/download
  4. just to close the loop here , in situations like this it is best to email support@swtor.com and see if they can assist further if someone is unable to recover the account then call swtor support when the lines are open so they can help you regain access
  5. have you submitted a ticket ? (not as a bug report) that would be the first thing i would do and see what the response is
  6. on that screen press the alt+enter keys a few times to change to window mode , otherwise edit the client_setting file as seen in https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/Guide-Game-failing-to-launch-on-Clicking-Play/m-p/4809830/highlight/true#M70795 accepting the eula is a known steam issue on new installs
  7. make a post in the technical issues forum https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/bd-p/star-wars-the-old-republic-en attach a dxdiag of the system per https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/Guide-Posting-a-DxDiag/m-p/4832663/highlight/true#M70799 and paste the contents of the client_settings file
  8. start with this guide from the swtor technical issues forum https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/Guide-Game-failing-to-launch-on-Clicking-Play/m-p/4809830/highlight/true#M70795
  9. The general forum is for general discussion, and the bug report forum is for ingame bugs make a post in the swtor technical issues forum , https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/bd-p/star-wars-the-old-republic-en attach a dxdiag to that post for starters https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/Guide-Posting-a-DxDiag/m-p/4832663/highlight/true#M70799 also mention if you do you get to press play on the launcher ? and what occurs when you do, details like this will help There was an issue with systems below the minimum game requirements but has been resolved i believe, Start with the below known solution for systems that are below the minimum game requirements Press the [Windows] Key + [R] at the same time Copy the following in to the text box and press ok %localappdata%\swtor\swtor\settings Open the client_settings.ini file in notepad Add the following in the [renderer section or amend if the line exists TextureQuality = 1 GraphicsQuality = 1 Save the file and retry and see if that helps
  10. launcher issues should be posted in the technical issues forum - https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/bd-p/star-wars-the-old-republic-en first be sure it was this C++ file you installed https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe
  11. @DarkAislynn With the game running try right mouse clock on the speaker icon of your taskbar and open sound/volume mixer and check the swtor slider isnt at 0 (the game needs to be running to see this slider)
  12. You will need to call swtor support when the lines are open to fix an account issue you have on your account https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/INFO-Getting-Help-and-Board-Guidlines/td-p/4806237/jump-to/first-unread-message
  13. Just be aware support cannot add any gametime to your account until you call them and get that account issue fixed
  14. Support should of already asked you to call to sort the account, and you need to send new screenshots that are as seen in the guide, the ones you sent are too cropped
  15. This should of been looked at when you called, The linked ea account is disabled use this link (insert the swtor email address into that link) to reset the password then login on the EA account Be sure to use incognito mode with chrome or delete the browser cache and cookies to be sure it isnt cached if purchasing on swtor.com
