Any class can underperform in ranked if you don't know positioning/awareness and what spec is weak against your damage output potential. I personally think Hatred/Seren is one of the best Merc killers and strong against Sorcs. There are also several dot sins on SS that make it work very well and are a huge threat anytime I face them. Just having the ability to stealth out without being instantly stopped by a scan in itself is insanely overpowered. The ideal is to wait to engage after a few major coolies have been blown by the opposition so your rate of survival increase drastically while still have very strong DCDs to help place dots and use big damage spreads if available. Maras, Decep/Infil and Conc are harder to counter, but those are cases of 1v1 not team fighting.

IO excels at only one thing over Arsenal. 1v1'ing and 1v2'ing snipers in all gameplay: SR, dueling, regs, wPvP. Absolutely makes sniper a joke meme class, while Arsenal will struggle against a good sniper because at the end of the day. Arsenal has some of the most predictable game play. If this is your first time playing merc or its been a while - 100% relearn it on Arsenal. I've played thousands of games as both and the REAL problem of IO is not the heat management or "casting" (which is extremely minimal in pvp, besides spamming scans while los'd LOL). IO mercs are just not scary. Sure, you can pull of a thermal double mag shot combo with dots rolling (even adding fusion and dart) but nothing compares to the chunking a priming shot>HS>stacked rail shot. 3 globals vs like 5, 6 maybe even 7? For results that are always coming out lesser. Most IO Mercs are playing to show off, not because its a good pvp spec.

What all of you fail to mention, understand, or just are ignorant to the reality of is ELO wasn't meant for a pool of 20 people. In no competitive game that I've played be it WoW or OW or almost anything else are bronze players pitted against gold, plats, or ranks 1. That's a complete joke. Let me put it in perspective for you. Imagine a race between a Honda Civic and a McLaren F1. Lol.

Let me know when any of you pvp regstars (who coincidently *only* que up with healers that have mained sorc heals since 3.0 or earlier) get ALL 7 MVP votes while miraculously que'ing solo and also running on their 3rd alt dps. Four words : never going to happen Remember - its elite to play together in min/maxed gear against random nobodies, but its worthy and impressive when the decimation of an entire team comes from que'ing by yourself.
