  1. Su Cuy'gar! Verburyc Ade be Manda (VAbM) is a Mandalorian RP'd guild. We are selective about recruitment, so we are still small. We are looking for players that will join us in voice chat (we have our own Ventrilo server) to enjoy great conversation, solid gameplay, and guild stratigization. We have our own guild web page (http://www.vabm.guildportal.com/) with informational libraries, a guild calendar, and our own forums. Please feel free to check out our web page for guild rules and application. The application is intended for us to get to know you a little bit; not to block people from joining. We'd like to hear from you and chat for a while to see if you are a good fit for our community. We believe in keeping the game fun, so we do not want to bring anyone in that may not enjoy playing the game with us. Right now there are 5 core players that are very active. There are also around a dozen or so other players that jump in with us on a regular basis to team up, seek game info, and generally have a good time. If you are interested, or just curious, please take a look at our web page. If you would like to join, create an account (if you do not have one yet) and fill out our guild application on line. Also, please send me (Ad'haran) and in game email as well. I receive email notifications from GuildPortal for most activity on the website, so I will know when you apply and I will respond as quickly as possible! VAbM is comprised of players mostly in our 20's and 30's. We all have real lives outside the game and we all choose to respect each other’s real life needs at all times (after all... it is a requirement for our guild). We invite likeminded folks to join us. If you need a guild that will respect you and push hard towards simply having a great time playing a game we all enjoy, then we are the guild for you. We do have rules, but if you read them carefully, you will see that they are simple and common sense rules designed to maintain a great game play community. We get personal with our guild mates, support each other, and socialize a lot! As for game play; we are focused on it all! We want players that RP, do PvP, Quest, do war zones, and operations! We want it all! We are looking for players that have specialized interests in the game and can add to our overall expertise and help us develop as a guild! Come and join us!
  2. One of the paper cuts that is driving me crazy lately is that there are WAY too many places a toon can get stuck in! I like to explore and find shortcuts through terrain a lot! As a result I get stuck a lot. A LOT! So... 1) Please begin researching all these little places that make a toon get stuck and fix them 2) Get rid of the cool down for /stuck! What possible logic is there for having a cooldown on it in the first place? Even if someone uses it over and over again in rapid succession, it's an automated system, so there is no extra manpower needed by BW. And it simply puts you back where you came from, so it's not like someone could use it to cheat! PLEASE get rid of the cooldown timer on /stuck!
  3. I would still ike to get an answer on weather or not the current space design is what BW intends to continue with or weather it is simply a place holder for something else. I can't see that BW views the current ste-up as Star Wars worthy. And if you guys do, then this is not good at all. This is Star Wars. Anything less than a free flight is sacrelige! Please tell us that this rail shooter is NOT your end design!
  4. Actually... This is Star Wars, right? Not Planet Wars? In each of the movies, space was a major setting of major story plot altering combat. To be honest, I don't understand why LucasArts has not come down hard on BioWare for making space combat a rail-shooter? That is downright sacrilege! I hate to be so critical, but this is the one single biggest dissapointment in my opinion. Star Wars without emersive space combat? That is like a Marine without a rifle or a pilot without an aircraft. It reallly does boggle my mind that this is the case. I would be much more understanding if BW had said that the current space set-up os just a place holder for a more comprehensive space design, but all I have seen is the Devs ignoring commentary on the topic and adding tidbit updates to it. The current space design has to go. It needs to be completely redesigned to an open flight system with PvP/PvE and free navigation capabilities. This is a no brainer. But! If BW is simply using the current system as a place holder for something more like what I mentioned, then kudos on BW at least for doing that. But they need to tell us that is the cas, if so.
  5. I sefcond that! This is a great idea!
  6. Amen! Chat tab customization should have a primary chat selection so that when I click on that tab I am already in the chat type I want. Misstells are huge in this game and that is why. I second Tomisu's sugestion!
  7. To expand a hair on this, I would like to say that there is an easier fix to this than the approach that BW has been taking. Instead of adding new code to prevent idle timer autologs, they could simply change the idle timer to be reset by any keyclick or mouse movement withing the SWTOR window. That is how I have seen other games fo it and it works great. AND! BW won't have to reapeat code over and over (which is, after all, a programming no-no). Saves time. Saves money. And it vastly improves the quality of life for players. Especially for the ones that spend a lot of time on the GTN and crafting (like me). Rock on BW! And thank you for starting this thread, OP!
  8. Mine was Shadows of the Empire! It was awesome and I have been reading them ever since! I have read over 110, so I still have a long way to go. I think that is little over half the books. Timothy Zhan and Karen Traviss are my favorites! Zhan is a nuance genius!
  9. I haven't read past this post yet, so this may be a repeat, but i wanted to back this up a little. The second half of this statement would support the idea of the Rule of Two. The design was such that each succesor would be more powerfull than thier predocessor. Hence why the aprentice kills his/her master. Only when the apprentice becomes more powerfull than his/her master will he/she be able to kill the master. At least that was Ban'e theory. If i the line from Bane to Sideous stuck to that close enough then it stands to reason that Sideous was the most powerfull in the line.
  10. Good morning! I am a full time student studying Computer Sciences. I have never done any programing before so this is not coming as easily to me as some of the other students I know, but I am enjoying it. So I ask; what languages is SWTOR written in? How many man-hours went into developing the game? I would imagine that the source code is very class intensive and interlinks at more points than you know. It would be fascinating to see it all (and I imagine bewildering to see ). It would be interesting to see what the programmers would have to say about this and what day to day operations are like (other than spending countless hours in front of a computer plugging away at code). What kind of challenges do you face? What types of things do you pay most attention to when creating code? Do you have a lot of systems that predefine a lot for you? What else? OH! And of course... What are your favorite Star Wars stories?
  11. Looks great BW. I like the new look! It's basically the same site, but having the top of screen options be the same no matter where you go is nice. Just minor jugestion though... When we click on our name on the top left it opens just fine, but we have to click the arrow again to close it. I recomend that the standard clicking off the menu closes it. Not that important, but it's just a thought. I think my favorite part of the upgrade is the basic color scheme. Very good on the eyes. Cool change!
  12. Here is a Wiki-link. Good stuff and better written than what I did.
  13. Backup post for Zone: Examples of Jedi's that specifically do not use lightsabers are found in the Courecant (SP?) series. They are called Gray Paladins. The idea is that the Paladins are the same as Jedi with one major difference. Paladins believe that the Jedi are overly reliant on the lightsabers. So their versions of the lightsabers are blasters (and other non-lightsaber weapons if I understand it all correctly).
