  1. I'm doing just fine. I seem to be able to burn down people really quick now (I'm playing as Madness). I top damage in nearly every BG I play in. There aren't any classes that give me problems. My kiting and escape tools are great. I keep hearing complaints but I'm not seeing them. Of course I'm only 52 ATM. My only complaint is that in WH/EWH gear I'm 2k less health than level 40s in greens. Not that I want better stats, just not worse.
  2. 2. While in a PvP zone and under the affects of bolster, what does your character sheet show for the following stat values? A. Health (while bolstered) = 19960 B. Endurance (while bolstered) = 1596 C. Expertise (while bolstered) = 1802 D. Armor Rating (while bolstered) = 2999 3. In that same set of equipment, while you are NOT in a PvP zone and NOT under the affects of bolster, what does your character sheet show for those same values? A. Health = 18198 B. Endurance = 1570 C. Expertise = 1802 D. Armor Rating = 2613 Naked stealthers will take me down to 40% health with their opener. They can easily finish me during the duration of their next stun. Stunlocking isn't a good thing for a game, that's why DAoC and WoW removed that ability from stealthers and gave them better longevity.
  3. I've been playing around with one on PTS, it's hard to tell if they really perform well when people are one shotting you because of a bug. He does seem to hit harder, having double instants is nice so is the talent to reduce the cooldown on barrier. I don't know, I feel like I can take more of a beating and dish out more damage. Guardian feels about the same as it does on production (as vigilance)
  4. Yes, I want Force Sweep/Smash toned down at the very least. That's all I ask for, so tired of smash trains.
  5. I'm tired of being smashed 3 at a time for 6k each . As a DPS sorc in fully augmented WH/EWH gear I find some 50 WZs make me want to kill myself, or at least stop playing this game. The amount of times I've died without being able to fight back at all is ridiculous for an end game in a premium MMO (I've been playing them since '96, started with UO). Balance is a freaking joke, at all levels, but is far more obvious at level 50. I can get all my DoTs up on a sentinel and free cast for a good 10 seconds before they turn on me and do more damage in their first 3 moves than I did in those 10 seconds. On top of that they can mitigate damage so well, are impossible to kite and are freaking like pigeons. They're everywhere, jumping on me like I'm a freaking statue in NY. Even if I play perfectly and they play like a brain damaged monkey it's an uphill battle.
  6. Maybe but you wouldn't be viable for your dps? It would be the healing? Instead of adding more downtime to doing damage I'd rather do something passively. Maybe rework Devour so that it increases healing by current amount but applies that healing to your entire group and heals you for an extra 50%. As a DPS though I'd rather my team take me because of my DPS and not because of my healing. Another thought maybe make Death Mark a force resistance debuff that applies to all force damage and not just your DoTs? Dunno, I haven't thought about the problem of being wanted by a group as much as playing War Zones in PuGs.
  7. Wrath procs happen too frequently. Letting you get an instant heal is too much. I hit 50 last week, already in fully augmented war hero. I find that my survivability is decent. I usually run full madness or a madness/lightning hybrid. With hybrid I have lots of CC, with madness I have enough CC and force speed so as long as I position well I don't have too many problems. I can usually LOS and heal enough to stay alive. What I do have an issue with is damage, particularly burst, especially when fighting sentinels, guardians and vanguards. They are able to shrug off my DoT damage, while I don't always die to them (like I said I can speed away and heal) I find it incredibly frustrating that force sweep does so much damage with such little set up. On top of that the window of opportunity to get hit with that massive sweep is too much. Even if I play it perfectly, they jump I knock them back or CC, etc their buffs are still up or they just use the second leap and hit me for 6k. Between the sweep, jump and force exhaustion They take a good 8k health off (I currently have 17,280 HP I think) almost instantly and they're going to do it again in another 7 seconds. Compared to how long it takes me to do 8k worth of damage... it's ridiculous. I'm lucky if my hardest hitting ability breaks 3500. Plus they have saber ward, rebuke and the 90% damage reduction on top of being able to stealth (sentinels). It just seems like an uphill battle considering I don't have the defense, damage or utility they have. If Force Sweep is going to hit so hard there has to be a counter for it, either a smaller window when they have auto crit and singularity, or it has to be a longer window between sweeps. Getting hit with multiple sweeps at once is another issue. So some ideas: -Some kind of spell steal? It would allow the sorc to steal a random buff (not class buff) like Singularity, saber ward or rebuke. That way sorcs would have a way to maybe prevent a sweep or turn some of that massive defense in our favor. -Make overload AOE again. With the current lag there are at least 3 times a night that I have someone in front of me, hit overload and it misses because they were actually behind or on top of me. I don't get this change, it was fine as an AOE. It also takes a critical second if you get jumped on from two directions to position both players in your cone, you're going to get double swept in that time. No good. Stupid change. -Maybe add another DoT in Madness. An additional DoT high in Madness might help boost damage to a point that's decent enough to contribute to a team. As it is right now, if the other team has a healer you're just a minor inconvenience. -Thundering blast: this spell is a joke. It hits like a wet noodle, you'd be better off as full lightning to skip it and pick up death field instead. Takes an eternity to cast for pitiful damage. There either needs to be a way to make it instant and/or damage needs a dramatic boost. Either that or it needs an additional effect like trauma or proccing lightning storm. If it's instant it needs to be on a timer, oh wait... it already is. -Shield should maybe absorb a little more? -Force slow should initially root in place to prevent force leap (like creeping terror) for 2 seconds -Lightning strike: Damage is too low or cast time is too high. I'd prefer not to nerf any classes, just want a way for us to counter those big sweeps and massive defense other classes have.
  8. Hey everyone, I just got my sorc to level 50 and am starting to gear him. I prefer full madness for it's mobility and am looking at 50 gear now. I'm a synthweaver so I already have a set of oranges with augment slots on them ready to go as I pick up new pieces. I'm thinking I'm going to mix and match the dps gear with the heal gear (shorter cooldown on crushing darkness and shorter lockout on bubble). I think that would be nice stat wise as well, a decent amount of crit with more surge and power for bigger death field/DoT crits. What are the stat ceilings though, where do I start to get a declining benefit from willpower/endurance? Should I use all willpower/endurance augments or should I throw in something else (I also have a 400 armortech that can make power/surge I think)? Is it worth doing some absorb augments for my bubble or does it require so much more absorb that I won't notice it without going nuts? Thanks!
  9. I will also say that when the stars align correctly it's fun. Casting affliction at range, getting off a lightning strike and having storm proc, then thundering blast, chain lightning, strike + forced lightning hitting all at once does some pretty crazy damage. It just happens so rarely.
  10. I've been trying Lightning some lately. It's fun, but not as powerful as madness. Maybe make Thundering Blast instant? The cast time on it seems to make it less powerful than other top tier talents. I also think lightning storm doesn't proc enough, maybe I've just been unlucky with RNG though. I did quite a bit of Strike spamming last night and only got the instant chain lightning once out of every 5 or so casts. I agree that lightning strike damage is pretty mediocre for a casted talent. I do pretty decent but I feel like other classes like a Power Tech peform much better. Rail Shot procs more often and the means to reset it's cooldown are much faster and more reliable than spamming strike. I find where I struggle more is when I fight a ranged class and a melee class at the same time. In that situation I really miss Creeping Terror's root and instant whirlwind. I'm tempted to try a full lightning spec that drops Thundering Blast for Death Field. It seems like a much better talent since it's instant and AOE.
  11. I'm find with a universal Makeb story as long as: -Affection caps are increased for companions -New companion conversations are added -Companions participate in Makeb dialogs -New Companion quests would be a bonus
  12. I have a 50 guardian and a 39 sentinel. The sentinel has some really nice defensive tools in comparison to the guardian. I also play Vigilance on my Guardian, which is probably the worst spec for PvP by most people's accounts. I have to play my Guardian a lot better and he feels pretty squishy at times. However, he's more iconic (saber throw, one handed saber, force push). I also love how Vigilance plays. It's very active, very acrobatic and fun. I find the sentinel to be more boring, like a stripped down vigilance guardian (in terms of abilities and key pressing, he still can seem to burst a lot harder and burn down healers better). There are some definite differences though and one of them or a combination of them may make your choice easier: -Do you want to play other roles besides DPS? If yes, then Guardian because they can tank and switch up play style. If no, then go sentinel because their DPS is slightly better -Do you want Force Push? Only Guardians have it. It's a great way to reset a fight (or in the case of Vigilance, use it to leap again to make yourself immune to CC). Force Push also resets the cooldown on Leap. -Do you want saber throw? Only Guardians have it. I love the way it looks and I love being able to sunder armor with it from a distance. Damage on it isn't that great but it is nice having a ranged ability besides leap. -Do you want a mortal strike (reduces targets healing received)? Only sents have it. Very nice for killing targets getting heals -Do you want stealth as an escape? Only Sents have it. -Do you want to be able to guard? Only Guardians can guard but you have to slip into your defensive stance. -Do you want to be able to taunt? Taunts are great for PvP and only Guardians have them (single target and AOE). -Do you want better defensive cooldowns? Sentinel here, they're defensive cool downs are awesome.
  13. How do they play? Can you kill other players solely from range or do you really have to get close to kill players? How do they differ from a pyro merc aside from the merc having two blasters and healing?
  14. I have 2500. Collectors Edition and been subbed since launch. I never took my free month that they gave us around May.
